  1. Inaccuracy works both ways, some (in fact all, at that rate of inaacuracy) of those could be false positives. Presumably they will be retested.
  2. Of course he was forced out. Reed wanted/needed to build the club around van Dijk, make him captain etc, and Jose was in the way. Turned out well, didn't it. Reed was a total arse. Not that I think Fonte was that great, or at least would be for much longer. But it was disgraceful how he was treated.
  3. Swab tests are not 100% accurate, some studies suggest up to 30% of results are wrong, but probably much lower. Also tests only give a result at an instant in time, and also take time to process, people can become infected after the test. Chance is low, but finite.
  4. Hasn't really had much opportunity to do much in 6 or 7 weeks.
  5. Austin, Clasie?
  6. Better look out for Master Bates and Seaman Staines on the Black Pig then. A consortium of Captain Pugwash, Johnny Depp and Keith Richard it is.
  7. Semi-finals would probably not have been classed as "big matches" in those days in terms of newsreels (The Final and maybe some high profile internationals), but I suppose 1925 and 27 might have had some live action filming. As far as I know there is no footage of the 1900 or 1902 finals, both years are still extremely early in the history of "moving pictures", which really only started in 1899. Newsreels were not invented until 1911 by Charles Pathe. The footage of Sheff Utd v Bury in 1902 is quite remarkable, and only seemingly exists because of some pioneering work by Mitchell and Kenyon who were based in Blackburn. I was aware of the fact that we were in those games, some people say I may have actually attended some of them, but they would be wide of the mark by a few years.
  8. It's not TV footage though. Newsreels record parts of Big matches long before TV, trouble is Saints weren't involved in any big matches. Newsreels wouldn't vae covered the Southern League or Third Division South.
  9. Clearly you have forgotten. We never "scored for fun" in his two seasons. Take out the 8 v Sunderland and the 6 v Villa in the first season, and we hardly ever scored more than 2 goals in a league game, except for 3 of his last 4 games in 2016 when we scored 4. Ronald's style was epitomised by me as winning 1-0. Still get well soon Ronald.
  10. Would be remarkable, a second coming.
  11. BBC covered it to an extent: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/athletics/52326054/page/3
  12. I wondered if someone would suggest Ossie. I would argue that he achieved his best at Saints. He was majestic and made things happen without hardly breaking into a trot. Maybe he didn't score as many goals, but he was sublime for us. I think McCalliog was also not past his best and Rodrigues was superb despite his years and tache,.
  13. He was OKish, but he was certainly past his best.
  14. Jamie Redkrapp, Graeme le Saux.
  15. Sad day when Norman Bites yer Legs Hunter dies, whatever the reason. Sadly he will always be remembered by Saints fans as a member of the Revie team that demolished us in the infamous 7-0. Hunter's cross for Big Jack to nod in is a long standing memory. I hated that team, but **** me in hindsight they were good.
  16. Top 5 1 Alan Ball 2 Alan Ball 3 Alan Ball 4 Alan Ball 5 Alan Ball
  17. Top flight true, which was the question, but he did score at least 4 hat tricks in Division 2 and also in the FA Cup in 76.
  18. Quite enlightening though that 10% deferral by players and management seemingly offsets the need to furlough all the other staff.
  19. What? Reporting details from a reputable source is getting 'all bent out of shape about it', whatever the **** that means. Wassock.
  20. Not saying which is right and which is wrong, but would you tend to trust a long established, quality broadsheet newspaper, or Sky Sports News.
  21. I found a source, it's in the Grauniad. Follow up article related to West Ham. The Guardian: West Ham hope their players will follow Southampton and defer wages. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/apr/09/southampton-players-become-first-in-premier-league-to-defer-wages
  22. It doesn't. I have read elsewhere it is 10%.
  23. Oh. I realised after I posted I should have been more specific, I was really meaning goals scored directly by keepers from their own half, such as Shilts and Begovic, hadn't really thought so much about keepers who come up for corners etc.
  24. Do we actually hold the record for the most goals conceded to opposition goalies(2)?
  25. First team from the Southern League to reach an FA Cup Final. Sadly Spuds trumped it the following year (and no I wasn't there).
