  1. Did very well, unlike many young debutant he looked confident. Difficult first half but having to play alongside Vestegaard what do you expect.
  2. Tommy Forecast, not even the best goalkeeper in this picture.
  3. JWP never showed tenacity, until very recently. Think you must be thinking of someone else. It was always what his game lacked in the early days, oh and pace, and tackling ability, and and and. Credit though recently he has changed and put many of these things right.
  4. Learned 2 things tonight Vestergaard should be nowhere near the team Never subs ribe to BT Sport, these taters are just the pits.
  5. Haha, sort of guessed you'd pop up here.
  6. I doubt that Ralph will change much at all. We need to be going into this wanting to win and starting to make our home performances as strong as away. This is an ideal opportunity to get that started. Maybe he will tinker with the second striker, otherwise leave well alone if he can.
  7. Still, could have been worse, we could have had the scouse git whining and moaning. In most respects Neville is reasonably objective and talks a lot of sense, the Romeu thing was an exception. He was otherwise very complimentary. Is it true though what they said that Romeu has never been red carded for us?
  8. Exactly, that's why we would have had to loan him out like other young CBs. On the other hand Bednarek joined in 2017, would he have been signed if we had Mings on our books at the time. Who knows? My comment about not releasing him was slightly tongue in cheek, I think there are a good many people on this forum that don't even realise he was a Saints youngster. I don't actually think he would ever come back anyway, there was a certain amount of bad feeling when he was released, his old man (Adie) was a youth coach at the time. Not exactly sure of the timing but he left about the time that our youth budget was slashed prior to Markus Liebherr taking over.
  9. He was 16 when he was released, he was a few years off sitting on the bench, we could have loaned him out like we did with Stephens (and Turnbull).
  10. Mings is good, he has been outstanding in an awful defence. We should never have released him as a nipper.

Your reply should have been to Badger's post, not mine. I think my reply was mixed in with his original quote which was a bit confusing.

  13. There was no dive, he was simply falling over. I'm not his greatest fan but making out he dived is just nutty.
  14. It should never have been a penalty, said it at the time, there was no foul. But given how many we have been denied in the past I wouldn't have argued against it. Still our dead ball expert managed to cock it up anyway so no harm done 🤪
  15. Stephens wasn't even involved with the McCarthy howler, it was Bednarek who played the ball back to Alex. To be fair to Bednarek it was a perfectly good back pass (if there is such a thing), just a complete brain failure by McCarthy, blaming anyone else for that is just silly.
  16. Only Shilts I think.

Historic kit, celebrating 55 years since Clydebank were elected to the Scottish Football League (well 54 actually). Like the slash usually, but prefer the red on white, there is too much red here for my liking.
  18. Well he has a great role model in Ingsy to show him what can be achieved.
  19. What? I guess you don't really mean aggressive.
  20. Reminded me of Beckenbauer to be honest 🤣
  21. They also gave him a middle name paying homage to a Saints Legend 😉
  22. Forster deal with Celtic reportedly dead. FF has "elected" to return to Southampton and fight for place with McCarthy and Gunn. Apparently the deal was all done and dusted between the clubs but Forster has said no. https://news.stv.tv/sport/no-celtic-move-for-forster-as-keeper-opts-to-stay-at-saints
  23. Really don't think Danny will be leaving us any time soon. He's had his go with a top 6 club, it didn't work out unfortunately for him due to injury, but at least he was with them 3 years earning good money. Can't see him fitting in at Man U or City. I suppose one of the London clubs might be a possibility, but I reckon he realises the benefits of being at his home club, as long we stay in the PL I'm sure he will stay. He certainly wouldn't leave us for any non-Top 6 club. I think people seem to overlook that he is back home, and that means a lot to him. Personally I would like to have seen him as skipper but can understand why JWP has the armband now.
  24. To be honest one sentence from Keane is two too many.
  25. But it will be Spurs so only pseudo top 6.
