That's totally fair enough. But like I said, do you want to sacrifice a good manager who loves the club and has an incredible relationship with the fans for a great manager who is going to be off at the end of a season leaving us to find yet another 'great' manager?
-
But up until March we'd got some great results against some brilliant teams that we wern't meant to get those results against. The fact you said it was decent until then kind of proves my point - Why does the bad outweigh the good? Ralph is a good manager, just not a great one but is the gap between goodness and greatness worth sacrificing for the stability and genuine warmth and care for the club that he brings? I think it is but if you disagree that's fair enough.

So losing games we should win we can count as bad but winning/drawing games we should lose aren't eligible to be used in this argument? We've lost some awful games and won some brilliant ones. Remember that stretch where went 3 years or whatever without beating any of the big boys and it was appalling despite the fact we were winning these games we "should" be winning? I'm genuinely curious as to what you think would be a good season for us.

Stayed up comfortably Knocked out of both cups by the champions of England and of the World respectively Ridiculously low net spend again Achieved various "surprise results" against the big boys Not really sure what more our fans want tbh. The PL has turned out fanbase into a bunch of spoilt, entitled little brats. HaShTaGrAlPhOuT

You'd rather have Stephens...?

Can someone advise who we're blaming for the goal? Obviously it's not Forster because he's the greatest player in the history of sport. Dammit Yoshida!!

Pep spends silly money on players and achieves: "HE'S A FRAUD, HE'S JUST A CHECKBOOK MAN, HE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT MONEY, HE'S OVERRATED" Howe spends silly money on players and achieves: "OMG WHAT AN AMAZING JOB HE'S DOING, HE'S THE MESSIAH, ALL HAIL EDDIE!"

There were 3 players in front of him at his near post, it was essentially covered yet that's the one he chose to stand near. Nobody on the far post, completely empty and he just decided to let it remain that way. Yet another error. Absolutely baffling how anyone rates him. Yes he's better than McCarthy but if that's our benchmark, we're in serious trouble.

I see Forster has escaped criticism YET AGAIN. Made two good saves and you can't take anything away from that. The others were saves you'd expect him to make, zero control over his penalty area, the second goal was down to his shocking positioning and his kicking was some of the worst I've ever seen from a keeper. If McCarthy had had that same game, he'd get a 6/10 at absolute best but no, yeah, Forster is amazing, all hail Forster. Give him a 20 year contract or something.

Ralph's time at Saints reminds me of Peter Griffin's description of Russian women - All either 10's or 1's He's a proper 'form' manager and at any given time we're either amazing or utterly embarrassing.

You mean like that councillor for Totton a few years ago called Ricky Lambert and totally used that fact to store votes off complete idiots? Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming him at all, you do whatever is needed to win but I dread to think how many voted for him purely for that. In regards to the comment above referencing the time MLT got suckered in by that penniless guy back in 2009, yes, that's an example of sorts however didn't we all get suckered in a bit by that? He must have had something about him since Keegan (would be manager) and Strachen (would be DOF) had basically agreed their respective roles under this fictional new hierarchy according to reports. Also I seem to remember Lawrie saying that he'd met with this guy and really liked him? I really hope MLT gets some help soon but the problem is, like I mentioned above, because he isn't spouting utterly unbelievable stuff but instead stuff that in theory, could be true, he isn't likely to get 'noticed' as much as someone who's saying stuff like "The grass is reciting poetry and wants me to kill my neighbour". The reason that Gazza had so much of the public urging him to get help because the things he was doing (and to a lesser extent saying) were so out there you just couldn't ignore them but with stuff like MLT has been saying it's easy to just brush off as "Oh what a tool..."
-
That's exactly it. The fact that he just seems to want to say something controversial about everything. The reason that sufferers don't tend to cross over into "The Queen is a lizard" or "Hitler is traveling through time to steal my liver" territory is because, as with most mental health issues, you honestly believe you're right and you're so intrigued and determined to prove yourself right that you'll do your own research into stuff and start piecing it all together. I've been there more times than I care to remember sadly. Whereas with the aforementioned 'extreme examples' you wouldn't find anything to base them on because there'd be absolutely nothing. I just can't believe someone whom, through his career and life had been regarded as well rounded, intelligent (in some respects) and generally level headed and has done a fair amount for charity is suddenly coming out with all this stuff over a period of 18 months or so. It doesn't make any sense what so ever. I'm convinced there's more to this than MLT simply being a bit of a tool (not denying that he certainly can be that as well mind).
-
Are we seriously suggesting that the media DON'T manipulate things? Because that's more bonkers than any conspiracy theory. I'm surprised in this age of mental health awareness and all that bullsh1t that people claim to be concerned about, no one has considered the possibility that MLT may well be suffering from some kind of issue. As a long time bipolar sufferer, this is exactly the kind of thing I'd have come out with when not on meds and manic. We don't all go around drooling and speaking in nonsensical ramblings in an "obvious" way. But buying into weird conspiracy theories and being annoyed or feeling a sense of intellectual superiority and generally "hard done by" when people question you are classic signs. Also buying into these suggestions that, in theory, could be true is often how it is as opposed to the kind of stuff that people traditionally associate with delusions - ie stuff like "I got taken on an alien spaceship last night" or "I'm from another dimension where toasters rule the Earth" which are basically there for sitcoms and comedy films. I'm not saying this is the case, in fact it probably isn't but it's quite possible.

Today we conceded yet another goal that was everybody else's fault but Forster's. How anyone thinks this clown is a good keeper is totally amazing.
-
I'm sure that's not Forster's fault. Now imagine if McCarthy had conceded that.
-
There's literally no such thing. Anyone got a working stream? Mine's being weird.
-
Commentators right up Newcastle's arses so far.
-
If wearing yellow was actually going to make a difference, I'd be up for it. But it's not so considering Norwich wear yellow, I won't do this. I'd be up for doing it in the next home game though (provided it's not Watford). A whole sea of yellow really wouldn't be productive.
-
I agree but why would he come to us? Frank or Viera are much more likely to come here. Anyone know where I can listen to this interview?
-
Armstrong actually IS underrated. Unlike Davis who was raved about by our fans, commentators and opposition yet still somehow got this stupid "underrated" tag despite it being very obvious that literally everyone rated him.
-
United's goal wasn't Forster's fault BUT if McCarthy had conceded that, it would absolutely have been his fault. Forster had a decent game again but neither one of them fills me with confidence. It's just strange that when Forster has a good game, he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. When McCarthy has a good game, every effort is made to rob him of any praise. Imagine if McCarthy had conceded that goal against Wolves a few weeks ago or yesterday when Ronaldo took it round him and Forster basically said "Go on, help yourself" and just stood there. He's making progress but he's got a long way to go before I'd consider offering him a new contract.
-
That second Spurs goal needs to be investigated. It's not even just a question of whether it was a foul (it clearly was) because no matter how blatant, it is always subjective from the referee, so let's just say it wasn't a foul, I was under the impression that the referee was obliged to stop a game if there is a head injury, no matter how it happened and what the situation was. Broja was put in serious danger by that **** referee and that needs looking at.

Just taken a browse at a WBA forum - A lot of them seem to think it's a done deal.

I'd rather we sign Carvallio than Alli (probably won't sign either) but I really don't get anyone wetting themselves over the prospect of Dele. Oh just seen Carvalho is Liverpool bound
