Who on Earth would you have picked from our current squad? Betrand has been below par all season and half the time looked like he could not give a sh1t. I wouldn't have taken him either.

Kenwyne Jones played his best football for Saints but I would not class him as a Saints legend.

I'd argue Kelvin has about the same claim to being a Saints legend that Franny has. Both pretty poor but good, honest pros that always gave their all (apart from Kelvin at Sheff Wed). Also, people forget that Kelvin's stock was actually pretty high at one point. Around 2008-2011 he was thought of as one of the best keepers in England outside the PL. He also turned down clubs of far higher standing to stay with us. Franny never did simply because he probably was not good enough for anyone else. Of course, Franny may well have turned down higher teams if he'd been scouted but to the best of my knowledge, we will never know.

For the extra money he'd get and the winners/runners up medals he'd get, plus Champions League football just at the price of my playing time being halved, I'd quite happily choose Liverpool over Saints and I have an actual emotional attachment to the club.

I remember someone on the Saints podcast saying they interviewed him and every question, just had a long, deep pause and really pondered even the most simple things then gave an answer to a totally different question. A bit like Lowe used to do.

There could quite easily be a resale value. Hes 26 and allegedly available for a knockdown price. If we sign him for £12 Million (a steal in this market) and he smashes it with us, he could quite easily fetch upwards of £25 Million. He'll have another year of PL experience and will have proven he is not just a one club wonder. 27, in theory, should be his prime age for a player like Shaqiri.

This season. I'd have told my grandchildren about when I saw us in an FA Cup Final. I probably won't tell them about the season we finished 8th, placed some nice football and had a few players called up for England, resulting in us having to sell most of them.
