Better today. Much better. I do think we should try Big Sam up front though, shame he's not on the bench. His size and willingness could make for interesting possibilities....a bit like Beattie in his early days.

No Gabbi or Sam in the squad, and Hoedt over Maya...a bit strange.

I don't know the guy of course, but I wonder if he cares? His form has dipped since the new, big, contract......so perhaps he's simply not trying as hard? Maybe he feels, on some level, that he has 'made it' and has no more passion to push forwards? Could explain the lack of form and lack of a move so far. Why go on loan when you'd have to do some work, when you can sit as third choice and coast along? I hope he gets a move. Looks increasingly unlikley though.

Think it's a bit early for the fat man! Not a strong start to the season, however Hughes is trying to turn around a massively negative situation...players are clearly lacking confidence and there doesn't seem to be the energy, vibrancy, direction or spirit around the club that there used to be. Add in a bunch of supposedly first-teamers who aren't getting gametime and it isn't a great situation. Get a couple of wins under the belt soonish and things should look brighter.

Presumably this is an ITK snippet rather than opinion (KBS rarely posts anything else I believe), then it's a slightly strange team shape...and I wonder how Davis is still here? Guess we'll see. Would like to see Gallagher get a few minutes at some point. Could we turn Stephens into a EPL standard RB?

Agreed. And perhaps that's all it is. However, that is a strangely weak bench, given the players who have barely featured this season (Gabbi, Maya, Beddy) and yet aren't in the squad.

Different player to last season. Looked very exciting at times. Shackles off? Fitter? Or just a one-off. Looking forward to finding out.
