Very good post. We need to snap out of the mundane attitude that has gripped the club for the past few seasons. I remember a comment from Puels season where apparently players were frustrated about standards slipping.... Bertie if I recall correctly. Time to reset.

The squad is about as good as last season. We have a FAR better manager. Who has some time to assess before the January window. We don't have Les, being Les. We have more time to escape than last season. The squad lacks confidence..... but that is a state: it's not an unchangeable fact. We will stay up, and do so fairly comfortably.

He made an interesting point about how his approach requires serious time on the training field to instill, and how we have a lot of games over Christmas, so not so much time to spend training. So it will be interesting to see how quickly and in what areas he changes the team in the short term. Will it be more evolution or revolution in approach to games? Poch made some seemingly major changes quite quickly..... I wonder if it is possible for him to do the same? Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds.

Boom. Seems strange he is only bringing one coach with him. Presumably there will be further changes to the backroom staff in the near future.

Yep. Which is annoying, however I would be happy if we forged a reputation as the place upcoming, progressive and 'proven overseas' managers (and players) come to get a foothold in the EPL, before moving on to a big 4/5 club job. Better than the being on the old-school managers roundabout.

Pretty much spot on. I hope we do return to the principles that we had pre-Puel, and that we maintain them. Really miss us having an 'identity'... who wants to be another vanilla, not-top-6 PL team?
