  1. Dear oh dear, what has this got to do with Rupert? I was looking forward to a decent thread about Ron and two comments in Rupes gets a mention. What is wrong with everyone?
  2. Because things like that are very important around here. If have taken the option of having a life, and don't have several thousand posts under your belt, you are accused of being Rupert Lowe.
  3. In fairness to Beattie, he's not long been back from injury and two games in three days may have been a bit much. Good result for Saints, but I don't think we could have played them at a better time.
  4. I love it. We have a couple of wins and people are going "don't get carried away" yet after a couple of defeats everybody was getting carried away and saying we were doomed. We could win every game until the end of the season and win the Championship and there would still be people who would say "let's not get carried away, it's only the Championship".
  5. Surely Durham look to be in a better position? With Hants on 101/1, it will be a struggle for Notts to get anything out of this now.
  6. BBC website says Notts on course for title. I think they must have put that up before we gave the ball to Tahir!
  7. It's all about PR though isn't it? I certainly remember BT making a big thing of his community service in the press, saying how much he enjoyed it, how much he'd been an idiot, etc. As Dyer pleaded guilty, he could easily have given an interview saying "I was an idiot, I'd had a few drinks, etc. I'd like to make it up to the girls by giving them £x to replace the missing goods and £x for them to give to a charity of their choice". If he'd done that, there wouldn't have been so much criticism on this board. I think there are many reasons why Dyer and BWP have received a lot more criticism than BT or Fernandes. Racism may well be one of them. But also the body language of Dyer on the pitch is in complete contrast to BT, and does leave himself open to the "takes the money and doesn't care" criticisms. Also, you could argue that what BT and Fernandes did weren't victimless crimes, but the victim was a bit more clear cut in this case, so it's easy to take sides.
  8. I guess the difference with the others is that they made a mistake. These two made a mistake, don't seem to have apologised in any way and then obstructed a police investigation.
  9. Absolute disgrace as far as I'm concerned. Protecting their mates even though they knew they did wrong. I'd be quite happy if they were thrown out of the club.
  10. Sadly I doubt he'll be the last. Seems to be the way things are going these days, if you can't get your transfer you sulk/strike/play poorly/etc.
  11. Apologies for the spelling. The thing is £1m was a lot for us in those days to spend and I think it is fair to say he never really caught fire for us. I never meant to imply he was a cheat and maybe in wrong thread, but it was just a reflection of my disappointment.
  12. Alan McGoughlan. Our first £1m signing. I was so excited. He was so rubbish that he went back to P****y
  13. Very disappointing. Outplayed in 2nd half and much of the first.
  14. 4 mins to start playing.....
  15. It would be nice if Dyer tried to run past a defender rather than straight at him.
  16. If we get anything out of this, we will be very lucky
  17. Have started 2nd half very slowly...
  18. Was Jamie that bad? I know nobody likes his dad, but I think Jr gave it his all. It's just a shame his knees had gone and he probably wasn't the best player to play alongside Quashie.
  19. Has to be John on for White in 2nd.
  20. The Sky team are talking about Burgess like he's Ronaldo.
  21. Oh dear, that is a terrible draw. Rotherham are very strong this year. Will be a real test for us.
  22. Good news!
  23. Total rubbish. He has been offered the opportunity to further his career by playing in the PL and will probably have doubled his wages. It has nothing to do with not wanting to play for Saints.
  24. It does concern me that JP does seem to be stuck with his "system". Surely there should be a Plan B? Whatever happens all season are we never going to stick two up front? What if the system just isn't working? I would like to see a bit of variety.
  25. I don't think it will make us any more likely to get youngsters in on loan. If anything clubs are probably more keen to send youngsters where there are seasoned pros in the first teaqm, rather than sending them into the equivalent of their own youth team.
