Exactly and also the fact that we are short on experience up front, Pelle and Tadic unknown as to whether they would settle, Gallagher and Rodriguez injured, that left Mayuka who we all know is not the answer. Signing Long was a good option to fit what we required - no-one is saying we didn't overpay just we had to at that time to get what we needed an experienced, proven striker for our squad.

Apologies not the first time I have made that mistake - I just don't understand all this rubbish about Long - we all know he is not a massive goalscorere but he brings totally different dimensions to the team what we had. To post that we should send him back after 3 games is stupid IMO.

So gambling on another unproven Uruguyuan rather than a proven Prem player - yeah that makes sense especially as we have a great record with South Americans.

Can I ask what you based your thoughts on the academy by? Have you seen the academy this year? You should put more faith in Hunter who is running it. I have and you couldn't be more wrong if you had tried.

It was sorted.....was the club meant to preempt the fact that Boruc was going to thrown his toys out of the pram and not prepared to have competition and back his talent? Are we meant to sign cover for every position then just in case some poor little soul doesnt want anyone to take their place? We bought in the England goalkeeping coach, we signed a very promising keeper from Torquay into the academy we are addressing this, we have 2 other decent keepers in the u18 side.

If you think we are bad you should go and watch any Hampshire Prem mens game on a Saturday afternoon when Saints aren't playing.....Saints are toffs and gentlemen compared to some of the games I have seen this year - it was a shock after moving up from youth football.
