  1. Malcolm Elias can now hardly walk yet is one of the best in the UK!
  2. Well the few times I have been to watch games at academy they seem to be popular...perhaps thats the issue.
  3. So this could possibly mean our new manager wants to bring in his own team ?
  4. Wow I wish I was as good a supporter as you but if you have been a ST for 38 years you must have had your eyes shut in 82. Not all fans can afford to renew every year and some have circumstances change that mean they cant afford it now but don't let that fact hinder your pompous arrogance as Saints number one fan. Also FYI The 1983–84 season was Southampton's most successful in terms of league position,
  5. I don't think he will suit their style of play - Adam is all about technique, skill, holding on and creating. Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho and Sterling are about pace and need it played quickly - although I am not saying Adam can't do that it just nullifies what he is brilliant at.
  6. Players took all their kit at weekend so guess no more training
  7. Really...Dean Ashton? Injured playing for England. Owen Hargreaves never had injuries that stopped him playing properly again.Alf Inge-haland, David Busst . Does the insurance actually cover the players transfer value - perhaps they need Gap Insurance.
  8. Pompey didn't seem to have any problem attracting them..... :-)
  9. Go and read it again.....you obviously missed it but not surprised
  10. Ok but think you may be taking an ostrich point of view there - "we inherited a financial mess..." doesnt mean anything to me about transfers. Did we really pay over the odds? People on here were questiong 6-7m for JayRod look how much he is worth. We are demanding £30m approx for an 18 year old...we signed internationals.
  11. Really....have you not been reading what has been coming out of the club recently not whats in the press but the financial people?
  12. Good post - although I would say its was terrific season rather than good as he has been brilliant.
  13. I sort of agree with you but....what if he has a JayRod type injury? Adam is at his highest peak now...the club is desperate for funds can they take the chance? We are nowhere near having the investment needed to kick on - so just maybe we have to accept that the player wants to go and now is the right time - no way under 30m though for either him or Shaw
  14. Were some of the most helpful Police I have met - one of the safest cities I have been to - felt far worse in UK up North, London and some areas of Southampton!
  15. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/15032014-201415-season-ticket-information-1489543.aspx can someone advise how much rise is?
  16. I went to Fratton in 67/8 when we won 5-2 and there was nothing in fact me and my dad sat in the stands amongst them and cheered when we scored.
  17. They pay his wages, we get team spirit back and a disruptive element out.
  18. Patrick Bamford and Danny Ings...sorted young , keen and hungry :-)
  19. [quote=rallyboy;1915033 So there are sensible pompey fans.... I know that's a bombshell, but they're shouted down by the home-tatted, EDL-leaning, wonky-eyed, sister-bothering majority. There were a few on Saturday at Testwood school watching their Portsmouth schools under 13 and 15 team getting stuffed by Saints schools 3-1 and 4 -0 respectively.
  20. If that was Liverpool we would be having a minutes silence and a charity record out.
  21. Anyone who keeps picking Dernbach and Bresnan needs shooting especially after Oz
  22. I'm with you Bear...when I go to the supermarket why should I pay for ripen at home surely all the money I am paying the lazy b8stards should do it for me in the shop?
  23. Problem I have is on the 5:2 diet a banana is 100cals so eating 7 will take me over my 600 for the day :-) Its all about a balanced diet isn't it and coupled with exercise and don't need a uni lecturer telling us that.
  24. Thats why I believed home grown cant be as how do you value them?
  25. In discussion with a thick Skate ref "Total Liabilities 59,772,276 GBP" "assets -33,340,566 GBP " https://www.duedil.com/company/00053301/southampton-football-club-limited/financ - See more at: http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/forum/106671/page:2/#47 I was certain as a meeting I was told players are not are not classed as assets - certainly not those in the Academy or ones that are 'home grown'. Can anyone confirm if that changed lately?
