  1. How can one backer be a consortium?
  2. Please don't I hated that Blackpool ****... Anyone that needs a drum can't manage an atmosphere. I have heard SMS rock several times withoutand musical instruments like Norwich, Wolves in the FA cup, Sheff Utd, Arsenal in the 3-2 win, Tottenham and the 3-0 Skates win so the place can be as good as The Dell. My advice is to ignore web forums ;-) people state stuff due to anonymity and wouldn't dare say it to peoples faces in real life. Most of what gets posted is said for effect and response to get post counts up.
  3. Well they had a massive part in it that they are! Who replaced a decent manager with 2 jokers and relied solely on youth? Who alienated the senior players telling them they "were surplus to requirements"? Who changed the whole atmosphere at the club from positive and together to alienation?
  4. The one major problem in all of this is agents...leaches, vultures and the biggest culprits in why football is insuch a mess with wages IMO. All can see the 10% signs flashing before their eyes from their clients who have been relegated and feel too good to play in the 3rd division.
  5. Didnt Burnley get up with playing, agressive, committed football with a game plan? I didn't see too much tippy tap passing in the games I saw them play on TV or at SMS.
  6. Funny how we cling to things like signs...I posted the other month that driving by The Saints pub in Millbrook there was a sign - Under New Management re-opening in May.
  7. As a knuckledragger can you explain when did we exactly play a beautiful passing game in the last 2 seasons? All I had to watch this season was 25 passes to get out of our half and the ball ending up with our keeper!! Why can't we have a mixture of aggression, committed, ballwinning and skillfull players all playing to a game plan? Whats wrong with 2 great big decent centre halves, a ball winner in the middle, 2 pacey wingers a lump of a forward and someone feeding off him? What do you preferr 25 passes and the ball with our keeper or 5 passes and the ball in their net?
  8. Add Leandre Griffet to that list...he scored against Blackburn from the subs bench and was then dropped totally. Ok he could be a bit of a knob at times but I watched him loads in the Ressies(remember this was when we were playing against loads of Prem sides) and he was on fire. KD needs the North to feel at home and settled and WGS didnt see this - although to be fair KD was one of the laziest bast8rds in the squad at that time.
  9. I can think of one very close to here that did Ok though. Some managers just fit in at places...others don't. I have a bet with my dad that if the UAE take over he will be back by Christmas ;-)
  10. NP Duncan football is all about opinions and am not surprised some players hated him, look at Kevin Davies who never responded to WGS run/run/run type of training yet thrives on it at Bolton. People moaned about Sir Alf Ramsey and his wingless wonders. Like I said he won't come back here anyway and will have bigger club chasing him.
  11. I think this may now be on hold as Martinez may be off to Celtic - approach has been made
  12. No defiantely my one...tell the Echo.... From there they strolled on to the harbor where they posed for photographs in a small boat before sailing to Stewart's luxury yacht "The Lady Ann Magee". http://www.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idUSL1627018220070617?feedType=RSS
  13. Sorry FF that is wrong IMO, I get Setanta free as part of my Virgin package and have watched loads of Celtic games. I have been impressed with the way they pass the ball about, Ok we all know Scottish football is not as strong as the PL etc but you still have to play the right way. Strachans team had players like Nakamura, McGeedie, McDonald who are hardly built for hit and hope players. Celtic didn't do too bad in the CL considering the budget they work to compared with the other clubs in it. Not for one minute do I think he will come back and just maybe we are better remembering the good times and not ruin it. I never did enjoy going out with a girlfriend the second time...never ever felt as good as the first.
  14. Wasn't this one then ;-) http://www.charterworld.com/index.html?sub=yacht-charter&charter=lady-ann-magee-1222
  15. I have been championing Bishop for ages on here but he has just gone in for a knee op ...not his first either so too big a gamble IMO. I would definately get in Graeme Murty from Reading who has just been released, local club so doesnt have to move, a good player and make him captain.
  16. Quite possible and going by some of the usual mongs reactions to the letter on here they just may decide to do just that. Why bother being open and transparent when you get accused of being another Wilde even before you have taken over and given a chance.
  17. June 17th 10am http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/KeyDates/0,,10794~1357319,00.html
  18. This is only for 20/20 games - FPT games you were allowed to bring in alcohol. There was a thread on general sport last week about it - its also on the ticket. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=13321
  19. Well we have had enough of manifestos....this is just a start IMO and he couldnt exactly give you his 20 point plan for success considering they havn't actually completed the deal and it could still go tits up. See this for what it is the first step in trying to get us on the right step nothing more.
  20. Having read this twice now I am so optimistic that we have finally turned the corner but I have a crap record...I supported Wilde, gave Lowe a second chance..... All I can do is follow my team as best I can...I said last year was the last year for my 2 STs after hating last season so much. If Pinnacle do complete the take over I will deffo renew. Thanks Tony for your hard work
  21. What about those on 'gardening' leave like Hockaday? He certainly knows the players and was doing a decent job before he fell foul of the nutjobs we had in charge last season.
  22. Wrong spelling...knowing Saints its more likely this lot http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theroylefamily/
  23. I agree some managers fit in at places like Redkrapp at Pompey but this was not just the views of one fan. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/football-league/dutch-manager-lined-up-by-saints-520362.html I am just really emphasising my view that Wotte would struggle to get another job in England or Holland. I acknowledge your views as thats what football is all about but for me he is not what we need here next season.
  24. Really? http://netherlands.worldcupblog.org/1/feyenoord-where-did-it-go-wrong.html Someone appointed former youth player Mark Wotte as technical director. Why? Nobody knows. Wotte was a mediocre coach at mediocre clubs. Didn’t have any management experience at all. Still, he was in charge of building a new Feyenoord, with Ruud Gullit. I don’t know how many players came from how many different countries, but at the end of the day, Wotte/Gullit failed. Miserably.
  25. Agree with you. But he is a drowning man clinging on to his last lifebelt, who else in England would employ him? His career in Holland was littered with relegation and even administration. It is very easy to come out with the talk but he never walked the walk. He never had a plan B and stuck rigid to the narrow diamond formation. Some silly team selections (like Morgan wide right at Blackpool worst performance from a Saints player this season) and although I accept he had limited squad he was part of the management team that bought in 7 shocking loans.
