  1. Derby manager Paul Jewell will offer defender Jay McEveley in part-exchange for Charlton striker Luke Varney. (The Sun) Read it on the BBC Gossip page earlier today.
  2. I think Charlton are get Jay McEveley from Derby as well.
  3. Will be interesting to see what happens to Cork and Pearce in January, we will be in a whole load of trouble if they both go back to their clubs. Skcael - Lancashire - Perry - James. That's back four would be a disaster, especially when our only real cover is Mills, Wotton and two injured centre backs.

I'm sure you all agree mine is pretty awesome.
  5. 4 out of 16 is a lot better than 0 from 16. I think it's a positive move. Should benefit clubs and the national side.
  6. Danny Dyer, Fern Britton, Jade Goody and David Beckham.
  7. He did and then he went on a 10 game run with no goals. The end of the Burley reign and some of Dodd and Gomans stint.
  8. 6 away, 13 at home.
  9. It's not just us who are better away from home, there have been nearly as many away wins as home wins in the premiership this season 34 - 29 or something I think. last season in league 2 there where more away wins than home. Most teams are set up to counter attack and just do better away from home where teams are obliged to attack.
  10. Holmes, Surman, Lallana, Schneiderlin and a decent right winger maybe Thomson? That could in a few years be a superb midfield. Not much chance that we can keep them all together much longer but with some more experience they could boss this league.
  11. We need some balance imo. Defence is fine with Davis, Perry, Cork and Skacel all experienced, the midfield has a bit of experience with Surman, BWP and Holmes but then upfront we don't have a single experienced player. We need an old head who can help us grind out wins against stubborn defensive sides. I think our main problem at home is taking to long to get the ball up the pitch, by the time one of our midfielders gets the ball we've already played the ball along the back line 3 times and the opposition have 10 or 11 men behind the ball and there isn't any space. We need to get Schneiderlin and Surman on the ball asap and let one of them hit a cross field ball to one of the wingers and get a cross in before the opposition have gotten men into the box.
  12. I thought it might have been... I knew I shouldn't have posted that.
  13. Would be nice to see 4-4-2 for a while, I think we would get the best out of McGoldrick if he was playing upfront alongside Robertson. Last night they just didn't get close enough. Would love to see John or Rasiak alongside McGoldrick, or even Saga and McGoldrick. Can't see any of thoes three playing for us again though, Saga will probably be the first one out in January followed by Stern.
  14. 4 out of 16 isn't much but you need to start somewhere. It's certainly a step in the right direction for English football. Hopefully with in five years it's 8 of 16.
  15. I'm a big fan of Holmes but I think you may be over rating him in his absense. Once he's back we will be in a far stronger position but to suggest he would've been worth 3 goals is crazy.
  16. We're just built to play away from home on the counter where teams aer obliged to attack, we obviously need to work on grinding out 1-0 wins, we seem to be a fair bit stronger in defence at the moment but we lack the experience to get a goal when the opposition are playing with 10 men behind the ball. It's been a problem of ours for a while when Burley was here, it's just even worse now that we don't have decent players on the bench to try and change the game. Personally I think we **** about with it at the back for far too long which gives the opposition plenty of time to get 10 men back and defend, this would be the same if we played 4-4-2 or carried on with the current 4-3-3. When Kelvin makes a save or someone makes a tackle pretty much all of the back four get a touch before we even look to get the ball into midfield. Passing for passings sake it seems like, at times yesterday McGoldrick and Robertson where close to eachother upfront and we'd be more than willing to playing between defenders when it just needed to be pumped upfield to Robertson. Personally for Sheffield Wednesday i'd go 4-4-2 with McGoldrick and Robertson upfront and tell them to just stay within 10 yards of eachother and try to profit from some flick-ons. Even if we lose at least we will have tried something different, if we draw every home game we will get relegated. If I was manager I'd have the lads out there practising corners all week, we must have had 10-12 last night and they where all ok but we really need to take those sort of chances, a few extra hours on the training field could have been worth 2 points. When we're defending corners we invite pressure onto ourselves by bringin everyone into the box, it meant Plymouth put all but 2 men into the box and gave Kelvin no space to try and claim the cross. We should be leaving Lallana and BWP on the halfway line and then you get 3-4 Plymouth defenders there marking them leaving a lot more space for Kelvin to try and catch the crosses. We're playing well at the moment but making so many silly mistakes, I don't know if it's a lack of leadership on the pitch, lack of organisation from the manager or just naivety from the players. We need to sort it out quickly though, one win from 10 home games isn't good enough and will see us relegated.
  17. Morgan is just a total **** house, a less talented far more ****ish John Terry. I was genuinely shocked when I saw Hume on SSN the other day, the scar and stitches are horrific, it looks like someone has beat him around the head with a baseball bat. I totally agree about the FA being spineless for not throwing the book at him and banning him for a few months. I'm just glad we don't have players like that at Southampton. Hopefully Hume will make a quick and full recovery while Morgan is forced to retire after someone gives him a taste of his own medicine.
  18. We kept getting caught out because they where both bombing forward as well, i'd like to see Gillett and Schneiderlin together again. Cork and Schneiderlin would be the best partnership but I think we need Cork in defence atm.
  19. We where a bit too flat in the second half and we really lack something upfront coming off the bench. It was fine at the start but when we needed to make a change we brought on Patterson and he done the same job as Robertson, we needed something different up there for the last 30 mins. It's games like that where you need to bring on a poacher, someone like Rasiak or John for the last 30 mins would have been perfect. The two centre backs where brilliant again, Skacel and James where both very poor though. In the first half James linked up well with Lallana but he really dropped off in the second and made some shocking decisions. Skacel just seemed slow and didn't put in any decent crosses. We really need to work on our corners in training though, we must have had about 10 today and didn't look like scoring at all. Defending was just as bad, why we feel the need to have BWP in the box rather than on the halfway line is beyond me, it makes no sense at all.
  20. I don't think he actually touched the ball.
  21. If he has got 5 yellows then the ban doesn't kick in until 7 days after the 5th yellow.
  22. I've got a good feeling about tonight. coyr
  23. Binya Lewandowski Lequi Can get loads of class premiership youngsters on loan as well. Thomson, Cork, Lallana, Gasmi, Holmes, McGoldrick are all pretty good and Schneiderlin is immense.
  24. It's pretty much the same it just doesn't cost anything.
  25. Grand Theft Auto is an obvious one but it's quite time consuming, I doubt you will get bored with it tho, it's the sort of game you can just pick up and play for 15 mins or a couple of hours. FIFA/Pro Evo are both good this year, i've got FIFA but there's not much between them imo. Metal Gear Solid is a quality game aswell, not sure you will like it though. Bioshock is another decent FPS, no online or multiplayer tho.
