100% agree. In the Summer Pardew and the scouting team should be looking for a midfielder to compliment Schneiderlin in midfield and Hammond should be made cover for the two of them with James continuing as our utility man. If Schneiderlin was so easily replaced with a player from this league then I don't see why we shelled out so much on Hammond who is rather poor in comparison. As for a match fit Lloyd James replacing him, we looked lost at Leeds when Schneiderlin was out and James had to come in to replace him. James is a very good midfielder at this level but he's still not at Schneiderlin's level.

I really can't understand what's going on with Gillett, he's so far out of contention now yet he got 20 minutes at Wembley? just doesn't make sense. Has he even been on the bench since?
-
It's not a new thing, hes been a scapegoat for about 18 months now.

Warnock was praising his two centre backs on the radio earlier after their 1-0 win.

Can't really moan too much about the performance today or over the course of the season, we where never going to win 8 games in a row a result like today's was always coming. Very unfortunate not to score but it's clear as day what our main transfer signing should be in the summer, a creative midfielder who wants the ball. Puncheon isn't good enough in the middle of a four, we need someone who can play alongside Hammond or Schniederlin in a 4-4-2. Good performances: Davis, Lambert, Fonte, Barnard and Ostemebor. Average performances: Lallana, Harding, Hammond, Waigo and Connolly. Poor performances: Seaborne, Wotton, James and Puncheon.

Must have been very rare, we started last season with those shocking short corners, then Lallana, Surman and Gillett all took turns and they where all fairly poor. Smith could take a fairly decent corner but couldn't do much else, don't really remember James taking any last season.
-
Seemed to spend the whole game ****ing around out wide but that may have been because of such poor distribution.
-
He didn't take corners last season.

Thanks for that, had been putting off getting my groups last three tickets. All sorted now. Impressive that we're selling out a big allocation so quickly.

Only just got home to Bassett from Alton and I left at 4.25... it's an absolute nightmare. Luckily just after the Winchester exit is clears up.

The Icelandic chap? He would be a fantastic signing, sadly I think he will be in the Premier League. -
Can't beat nik naks on a train.
-
I agree, I think it will be either Barnard or Wotton in for Schneiderlin, hopefully Barnard with Puncheon through the middle.
-
I'd be up for it
-
I think the only way Lambert in midfield would work is if we played a 4-4-2 diamond with Lambert at the peak of the diamond with Connolly and Banard upfront. Still can't see it happening but it would be interesting to see it in action.
-
It's safe to say I was absolutely battered by that point, I could barely string a sentance together on the train.
-
I think we should all go dressed as Papa Waigo! he won us the JPT after all.
-
Brilliant videos, glad I don't look like too much of a knob!
-
If we go back to 4-4-2 we would probably just drop Puncheon into the middle rather than pick Wotton and stick with 4-5-1. Schneiderlin is probably our most important player when we go with five across the middle and I think his suspension probably forces us into a more rigid 4-4-2 long ball fest.
-
I'd bring in Gillett or James.
-
Credit to Pardew for winning us the game. Waigo controlling the whole right hand side was a brave move that ended with Waigo delivering the match winning cross. Pardew totally changed the shape when Waigo, Connolly and Barnard where brought on, far more narrow with Lambert sitting in midfield helping out. Ostemebor was crap, he's always a second behind the pace and never seems to be in the right place. I don't think he will be here next season. Looked to me like Fonte should have been sent off.
-
Yesterday was probably the best away trip of the season. The only downside was the station being a million miles from anywhere, the rest of the day was quality.
-
That is a great idea, we wouldn't have won the JPT without him that's for sure. Was probably his inclusion that won us the game yesterady. Would be quite easy to go as Waigo since he's a bit of a character.

Without wanting to jump the gun does anyone know the dates of the play off semi games?
