We've still only had one dry race though, in Bore-ain. If it's dry in Bore-celona it will be interesting to see if things are er... interesting.

You also missed a full stop. Sorry, had to do it. 8-[

I think Beckham's goal against Wimbledon was a tap in relative to this long shot. A defeat against Walsall would have given us a shot, but realistically nobody is going to overhaul an 8 point gap in that space of time. If we could get within 10 points of Charlton, that would be a big moral boost IMO. If Leeds and Millwall go up with Norwich, this League will be a LOT easier, regardless of who comes down.

I'd like to see us regularly competing with the likes of Spuds, Villa, 'pool and Everton for the Europa League spots. I think the big 3 plus Citeh will be forever out of reach. A couple of home grown lads in the England team would be nice, especially if one of them was Lallana.

It's a fair point, although to bring an aircraft down you would need to fly through the core of a violent thunderstorm or into the rotor zone of a mountain lee wave. People are killed fairly regularly by turbulence, but in most cases it's through not wearing their seat belts and the aircraft is absolutely fine.

Not the greatest achievement when you consider: a) He played every game b) That total only added up to about 13 goals c) He was often the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 fomation d) He was competing with Euell, BWP, Pekhart and Robertson for the honour. e) Lambert is on for trebling his total this season if he gets another half dosen goals.

Nope. The part of the chassis the teathers were attached to was also ripped off in the accident.

Maybe not a hacksaw, but he's certainly up to something in the background here.

I blame Ponty. Not sure why...

Ah, you've spotted the joke there. Well done!

17 starts and 16 sub appearances would suggest he's more of a bit part player for them. Only 3 goals, but I suppose that's reasonable enough if he is being used as a midfielder.

Would have laughed my arse off if they did have strikes scheduled for yesterday and today.

Labour coming last in most of the polls. Clegg a clear winner in the overall debate.
-
I find both Clegg and Cameron to be fairly likeable, even if their policies are fairly far apart. Brown just depresses me and it's hard to believe anything he says when he's made such a monumental **** up of his time so far. P.S. The new poll is now open.

Wish they would all stop refering to our "brave men and women" in Afghanistan. We all know they are brave, it just sounds very patronising.

Belgian airspace has been closed until at least 1800 CET tomorrow. The last time Eyjafjallajökull erupted it lasted over a year.

It's not so much bad memories, and it's not just BA9 either. There was also KLM 867 which diverted to Anchorage in similar circumstances in the '80s. There have probably been countless other lower profile incidents. Not an overreaction at all IMO. If there is ash in the atmosphere, there could be a lot of gliders over Northern Europe.

Wouldn't say I've ever detested a Saints player. There have been a few I've disliked for various reasons. Dyer and BWP - The nightclub incident. Doesn't need much further explanation. Stern John - Turning up for pre season claiming he was after a new contract, then p*ssing off to Palace as soon as he got a better offer and claiming it was our fault. Jones - The whole striking fiasco and pretending a dead Spannish left back inspired him to move. Adam Hammill - Lardy, lazy and ineffective. There were also players like Euell, DMG and Wright who were continuously picked despite less than impressive performances on the pitch. Can't really blame them too much, they didn't chose to be picked.

The jetstream is blowing a trail of ash from Iceland accross the Shetlands and down into the North Sea. Tomorrow morning it looks to be making its way towards Holland and Germany as well as Scandinavia. It's possible some flights will be on tomorrow towards Spain and Portugal, but I wouldn't bet on much else happening.

This isn't from today's eruption. Is pretty cool though.

*That's not ACTUALLY me.

My thoughts precisely. Now I'm off to scrub my brain with boiling water. Will stick it up at 10pm after the debate.
