  1. Bullsheet. He knew we had the minus 10 when he signed. He knew the team needed major refurbishments and he knew this would take time. Our form this season had been top half, flirting with the playoffs and importantly, we are showing signs of improvement. I think some people have overreacted to the Brighton game. 1 defeat after 7 wins in 8 matches and it's suddenly doom and gloom again on here.
  2. As for the best drivers... really impossible to say, but if you were to compare drivers points from last season to their team mates... Rosberg (34.5) infinity times Nakajima (0) Alonso (26) infinity times Piquet and Grosjean (0) Sutil (5) infinity times Liuzi (0) Buemi (6) 3 times Bourdais (2) and Alguersuari (0) Hamilton (49) 2.23 times Kovalainen (22) Raikkonen (48 ) 2.18 times Massa (22) Badoer (0) and Fisichella (0) Fisichella (8 ) 1.6 times Sutil (5) Button (95) 1.23 times Barrichello (77) Vettel (84) 1.21 times Webber (69.5) Trulli (32.5) 1.21 times Glock (24) and Kobayashi (3) Heidfeld (19) 1.18 times Kubica (17)
  3. I'm not so sure about it going back to Mc vs F next season. I don't think Mercedes will be race winners straight away, but I think Red Bull will be there or there abouts. They won the last three races of the Championship, have a sound budget and have Newey, Vettel and Webber (who is underrated IMO). Plus Ferrari have an absolute dog of a car and never really fixed it this season. It would suggest to me that they haven't entirely got their head around the new regulations, although they will no doubt be stronger next season.
  4. A 10 minute drive at 60mph takes 15 minutes at 40mph. Quite an irritating difference when you have to do it twice a day.
  5. Should be court martialled IMO. If you sign up for the armed forces, you agree to serve your country, regardless of whether you agree to the war or not. People are well within their right to protest war, but you can't join the army and then protest. That's hypocrisy of the highest order. Similarly, we cannot now pull out of Afghanistan without finishing the job. Yes, many of our troops will be killed. That's a tragic yet inevitable part of war. They knew that when they signed up to the forces and the politicians knew that when they decided to go to warm. Now we all have to live with the consequences. Unfortunately those who made the biggest mistakes will suffer the least. Again that, is part of war.
  6. No, they were trying to work him into a manageable wage budget because they were short of cash with the building of the Emirates. They had to offload players like Henry, Campbell, Pires, Hleb and Vieira eventually to cut costs and bring in some cash. He was just greedy.
  7. Ashley "I'm off to Chelsea because there's no way I can survive on £55k a week at Arsenal" Cole. And there is a hint of jealousy too.
  8. Yep. If he wants to dedicate every goal he scores to his mum then that's fine, but his celebration is just annoying. It's pointless attention seeking IMO.
  9. My personal list: Rupert Lowe Harry Redknapp Kenwyne Jones Roy Keane Gary Neville Robbie Fowler Cashley Cole Rupert Lowe Sir Clive Woodward Frank Lampard (For the Sun adverts and that pointing at the sky goal celebration) Christiano Ronaldo Rivaldo (Ouch the ball hit me in the face) Alpay Rupert Lowe Robert Pires Olexandr Kucher Bradley Wright-Phillips Nathan Dyer Agustin Delgado David McGoldrick Ricardo Fuller Rupert Lowe Luke McCormack John Motson Paul Ince Ben Thatcher Kevin Phillips Glenn Hoddle Rupert Lowe Terry Venables Sir Alex Ferguson Didier Drogba Arsene Wenger Lee Bowyer Ian Branfoot Rupert Lowe Milan Mandaric Leon Best Martin Cranie Dennis Wise Michael Wilde Steven Bywater
  10. I drive to work twice a day along a stretch of the A38 South of Bristol (60 limit). There is ALWAYS some c**t who wont go within 20mph of the speed limit. Coming home this evening there was some kok who never troubled 40mph, but we were both soon stuck behind someone else doing 36. Is it just this particular road or is this happening more and more often accross the UK?
  11. Think we said it two years ago before the Euros. They got destroyed by Holland (I was living in Amsterdam at the time and laughed my arse off ) and played out a bore draw of Hull vs Pompey standards.
  12. Trottman appeared to take the ball out the goalie's hands at Southend a month back.
  13. That doesn't add up. Mercedes can't match Button's wage demands do he goes to McLaren, who couldn't match Kimi's wage demands... I think he's lost his passion for the sport TBH and will go do some rallying.
  14. You're hatred of "Pedro Monteiro" really has to be seen to be believed. He was a fecking good central midfield, yet apparently that counts for nothing. FWIW I'd have been delighted if we'd brought him back AS A MIDFIELDER. He would fit into our mifield very well and is infinitely better than Wotton. Also, I belive he went to Haggisland on a free after being released, not on loan.
  15. Indeed. We've also got Molyneux we need to shift before we even think about another LB. Would be a pointless signing, and he's getting old.
  16. How does any of that affect your civil liberties? CCTV is employed to make public places safer. I'm not sure quite how important you think you are, but I'm afraid to say I doubt someone is tracking your movement's on CCTV. I doubt anyone even looks at 99% of CCTV footage, unless it is needed as evidence in a criminal investigation. As for the DNA... so it's on a database, who gives a sh*t. If you've ever bought anything over the internet, your name, email, where you live and what you bought has probably been passed on to hundreds of third parties for market research. I don't see people up in arms about that.
  17. Here's some hard core rumourage for your: Vettel to Mercedes in '11, Kimi to Red Bull. As an RBR fan I would love it.
  18. Obviously whoever is in charge, should this system be implemented, would need a better track record than the current bunch. It depends how the data is scored. If it's on some massive hard drive at a secure facility then fair enough. If ejits are wandering around with the data on laptops and leaving them on trains and in hotel lobbies then no.
  19. Disappointed really. Would have liked the two Brits in different cars for a bit of variety. Liked the Brawn team, but can't see myself liking Mercedes. They're shaping up to be just a bit too German. Hate to see Kimi not on the grid next year too. As long as McLaren or Red Bull beat the Ferraris I'll be okay.
  20. The problem with Safri was he just didn't do enough. A competant player on the ball, but it was impossible to have a decent midfield partner for him. Surman, Licka, Idiakez - "We're too lightweight FFS" Viafara, Euell - "There's no creativity, it's just hoofball FFS" Safri's ideal partner would have to be a creative man mountain. Not to many of them floating around, certainly not in CCC.
  21. I'm really not that bothered about the government knowing where I am. As long as the data is kept secret and not released to the public. I don't really buy this whole, 'big brother is watching you' surveilance idea. It's hardly as if there are two men in the tree outside my house taking photo's through the living room window. So the government will know I went to the Saints match, had Sunday lunch with my Granny and go to work at 5am. Whoop-de-f**king-doo. It's not as if anybody will "know" this either. They will just have a record of it in some MASSIVE database somewhere. As for the fuel duty... I do a reasonable amount of driving, so it's probably bad for me personally, but I do think it's a pretty fair system. The main problem I can see if fraud. How can you prevent people for removing these GP units or running cars without them. I've got a sat nav which loses it's signal if you put it in the glove compartment. I can't imagine blocking or jamming these trackers will prove all that difficult.
  22. Glanford Park, Scunny in 2008. Pearson's first 'real' game in charge. 1-1 draw, 2 penalties, Vignal scored ours in the 86th minute. Both sides deserved to go down on that performance. I suspect this may not be the earliest...
  23. Norwich have a terrible record at SMS, lets hope it continues.
  24. *sigh* Do we really need to go through all the succesful teams who have played 4-4-2 again?
  25. Good luck to the fellar.
