  1. I supported DC since 1997. Boy do I know how to back the wrong horse... I like Button more than Hamilton, but I still support them both representing the UK.
  2. Anyone else disappointed by the story after reading the title?
  3. Yes, in the same way that Brum is "just a small town in Aston"
  4. It's up to you how you want to divide the country up, but to all intents and purposes, Old Trafford is part of Manchester. It may be part of Trafford Borough Council, but then Botley is part of Eastleigh. It's still in Southampton. Greater Manchester is a county. Oldham is part of Greater Manchester the same way that Portsmouth is part of Hampshire.
  5. Seriously, are you pretending not to understand this concept for the sake of an argument. :-s Trafford is a borough within Manchester. Portsmouth is a separate city quite near to Southampton. Manchester Utd represents Manchester. Ergo - Trafford, Moss Side etc. Southampton FC represents Southampton. Ergo - Botley, St Denys, Hedge End etc. Greater Manchester is a County. Not a City.
  6. Peter Sauber buys out BMW's share in the team. They will have to downsize and job losses are involved. Not sure who will do they engines yet. Virgin look set to buy out Manor. Let's hope they change the name.
  7. The whole idea of a city is that it is 0 minutes appart. It is one big entity with no space in between (appart from the odd river running through).
  8. To put it simply, the reason ground sharing with Pompey wont work is: San Siro - Shared by AC Milan and Inter Milan Allianz Arena - Shared by Bayern Munich and 1860 Munich Luzhniki - Shared by Spartak Moscow and Torpedo Moscow Maracana - Shared by three of the biggest clubs in Rio St Mary's Stadium - Shared by Southampton and er... Pompey Southampton? Sharing a stadium is one thing, but there is no point in going to another city. Especially with Pompey as, let's be honnest, their attendances are crap enough. I doubt you'd get more than 10,000 fans regularly going to "home" games at SMS. It would make much more sense, both practically and financially to stay at Fratton.
  9. How do you turn a duck into a soul musician? Put it in a microwave until it's Bill Withers.
  10. Okay, an accronym then smart arse. Grammar Hitler youth is no match for Grammar Gestapo.
  11. Because U.F.O. is an abbreviation and the 'U' is pronounce "yoo" instead of "uh" the term UFO should pre preceeded by "a". If it was pronounce "uff-oh" then "an" would indeed be the correct prefix. Please obey ze rules.
  12. Grammar Nazi does not like this.
  13. I'm only on Twitter to follow the F1 teams and drivers. Juan Pablo Montoya has the most incredible collection of remote controlled aircraft I've ever seen.
  14. I'll drink to that.
  15. You can order tickets and have them sent up with the travel club on the matchday. They will be available for collection as and when the coach arrives, typically about an hour before kick off. I did this for the Oldham match.
  16. Can think of many ex-Saints who have played for three clubs, I was refering to current players. Anyway, now that the goalposts have been moved... It's not Beatts, Higgy, Delap, Crouch, Camara or Phillips
  17. I was looking at BR players, but it's almost as cheap to get a PS3. Relative bargain IMO. Now all I need is a kick ass LED TV.
  18. Can't think of any player who has played for three Prem clubs at all, except possibly Connolly. Also we lost to Burnley. 3-2. 3-0 at half time. Skacel and Surman got two back second half.
  19. 1. Kelvin? 2. After we beat Reading last year? I'm sure at some point under Portaloo we scraped out of the drop zone for a week.
  20. Like fox blood probably.
  21. Nope, nothern sh*thole. Wrong again I'm afraid. Think we may be getting slightly carried away here. Lallana is finally showing his true potential having only seen glimpses of it last season. As Delph has shown, being the brightest star in L1 doesn't nescessarily mean you're up to Prem standards. Delph has started just one league game since being subbed off after an hour of his debut. Villa incidentally lost both games. I think it would be better for him if after a season or two here he went to one of the CCC big boys. Leicester would be great for him as Pearson seemed to rate him and they are heading in the right direction. Alternatively, he could do worse than staying here. Promotion this season will be an uphill struggle, but it's easily within next season's capabilities. Beyond that, I think we have 5 or 6 players already capable of a promotion push in CCC. And finally... Seeing Lallana and Schneiderlin progress this year makes me wonder what might have been for some of last years players. I know 'ifs' and 'buts' etc but I can't help but wonder how good players like DMG, Surman and Skacel would have been in our current set up. I know they all wanted out it's just a hypothetical situation.
  22. This: I also doubt Markus has billions in his piggy bank or down the back of the sofa. A lot of it is probably tucked away in stocks, shares, property, assets etc. It was stated when he took over that he would run Saints and I applaud that. He is trying to build a sustainable future and will not tollerate Saints making big losses. If you take care of the business, the rest should take care of itself. Pompey were owned by a billionaire (probably more than one), but they soon freaked when they started p*ssing £30m a year up the wall in losses and fled town.
  23. How much are you willing to bet on this outcome? RE: "Jedward". Don't give a sh*t, but then I don't give a sh*t about landscape gardening and there are many more books on that. I get more annoyed by the tedious predictabity of the Xfactor. Every year the finalist collaborate to make a pointless cover of some soppy ballad, with a video which is just black and white slow-mo clips of them on the Xfactor. Then the winner does exactly the same. The thing that makes it worse is that each song stays in the charts for about 20 weeks because rejects are obsessed with them.
  24. I've heard we're wearing the new bright pink latex away shirt, with the little rainbow flag on the back. No need to thank me.
