  1. I tend to lose interest in the wives. Once they're married I'm not that bothered. Think it should be 'fiancees and girlfriends' really. Grammar Nazi agrees with this. It's like "lol'd" which surely should be "l'dol"
  2. Nothing is more important than being e-hard. Except maybe bacon and Jaffa Cakes. Not together mind, that's just odd.
  3. Haven't edited that pole since I created it. Must say I am disappointed. The original question was one of the most important and intelligent issues Bungle has ever raised. I find it sad that my fellow mods have poll for the sake of a cheap dig at you William. My sincerest appologies go out to you and Bungle, who may now never know the answer to his question.
  4. Oh the ironing!
  5. Arizona

    New Mods ?

Chavy? Moi? Yellow Seat Man I can understand, but I think chavy probably describes me least out of those six really. I'm more Asian, slightly lesbian mod.
  6. 154 requests on the poll so far. Better get your pencil sharpener out Ron!
  7. In Gloucestershire? It wasn't a f**king earthquake.
  8. Congrats, you are in the only building to have been hit by lightning this afternoon this side of Greece.
  9. Who's changed it now?
  10. Arrogance. Pointless languages. Never shutting up. Casual racism I think maybe Spitting Image were onto something. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSLMKUXZ3hk
  11. Call it what you want, I still think it's just a game which nobody outside the UK is really interested in. Even in Britain the biggest matches are are played in crowds lower than you typical Conference League football team. Maybe there are several criteria which could define a sport. If the accuracy is a requirement then Jenga is a sport. If it's just about two people competing then Chess is a sport. If it's just about having a "World Championship" then tiddywinks is probably a sport too. We clearly will never agree on this. I'm out.
  12. 3? I had 5 votes last time I looked at this thread WTF? :-s
  13. I voted for Arizona. I am quite a helmet and alpine is actually alright when people aren't winding him up.
  14. Haha, you're just in a bad mood because I pointed out Darts isn't a real "sport".
  15. That would be Button driving the Brawn which wasn't th fastest for 2/3 of the season and in which he won 6 out of the 7 races when it WAS te fastest. He didn't make a serious mistake all season and would have been in the points in every race if a rookie hadn't rammed into him at Spa. The F1 world champ has been in one of the top 2 cars for as long as I can remember. It's always been a large part of their success. Button beat Barricheloo (who is an f'in good driver) by 18 points, which is no mean feat. As for Taylor having to work for HOURS a day. Wow, what a hero. I suppose you think F1 drivers just sit in the Jacuzzi until 10 minutes before the race starts. Button is a World Champion at the top level of a sport contested around the world at various levels from go-karting right the way up to F1. Taylor is the "World" champion at a sport which is basically 'Britain and that Dutch bloke'. The fact that you feel this is a greater achievement just shows how blinkered and set in your ways you really are. Archery is a sport, hence it is an event during the olympics. Darts has never been competed at the olympics. I'm not saying Taylor is not a fantastic darts player. I'm saying when it comes to SPORTS personality of the year, he shouldn't be nominated. If you were to class darts of a sport and Taylor won SPOTY, I think it would be a sad day for Britain. Our best "athlete" is a lardy bloke from Staffordshire who throws small darts at a cork board in a game the rest of the world couldn't give two sh*ts about Just look at the Darts World Champs, from abroad, over time. A Dutchman, a Canadian, an Aussie and that's it. Two of those are former British colonies. Compared to F1. The very top level of motorsport in the world. We've had drivers from all over Europe, South America, North America, South Africa, Oceana and Asia. Only Asia and Antarctica have yet to produce a world Champion and only Africa and Antarctica do not hold a race (Africa used to).
  16. Fantastic idea. Added a pole just to gauge some idea of numbers.
  17. P.S. Was sat in the nose bleeds in block 41, so couldn't really judge if the offside calls were correct... except one. He was stood a good yard directly behind one of their CBs second half when the ball was played over the top. He made a diagonal run between the CB and LB and up goes the lino's flag.
  18. I have to put my hands up and say I was wrong about Lallana to an extent. He's always had the tallent on the ball, but no end product. This season he seems to have turned that around, so fair play to him. It would also be unfair to have a dig at people for their posts on this thread, which was created under a completely different context months ago. It was created on the back of what was a very disappointing season for AL and he had apparently claimed to want out. Makes you think though. If just having the quality players around them, a good manager and stable board has done this much for Lallana and Schneiderlin, imagine how good players like Surman, DMG, Dyer and Skacel could have been too.
  19. Immense skill - ice sculpting Speed - downing a pint of lager Stamina - farming in Eastern Europe. concentration - bomb disposal. I'm not being pedantic, but none of these are sports and you can make a living out of three of them. I'm not sure how you would define sport exactly, but I just wouldn't class darts as a sport.
  20. Heidar Helguson?
  21. So better than the £1.75m per goal we spent on Agustin Delgado. FWIW I wasn't impressed by him tonight. Looked a bit lethargic at times and I don't think it's fault. We just don't have a similar player to replace him. We need a similar replacement in January so we can rest him or bring him off every now and then.
  22. For all his offside, he did set up the goal, which is more than you could say for Lallana tonight*. I'd be inclined to give him another chance. *This is not a dig at Lallana.
  23. I can't decide if Waigo was brilliant or sh*t. He was by far our best outlet all match and offered more than Lallana who was very subdued IMO. I am sure half the offsides were the wrong decision, but he was offside a LOT. Bart good and all four defenders were excellent IMO. Wasn't convinced by the midfield, Lambert looked a bit jaded, but better when Waigo was along side him in the 4-4-2. Morgan is a good player, but I don't think he drives forward enough. Hammond and James/Wotton do the defensive stuff, Morgan should be a bit braver. Lol@ Antonio's shot from the halfway line, taking on 3 defenders and the goalie before tying himself in knots. Waigo "he's always offside" and their ginger striker "you f**king look like a Wotsit!" Kudos for Bart. A clean sheet and he got down very well to a long range effort second half. It was going about 5 yards wide, but then the wind/swerve caught it and swung it back towards the right hand post. Great reaction to tip it round the post.
  24. That's sort of what I was getting at with the OP. I'm not saying give up on the league, but say we beat Norwich and make it into the area finals. We have a heavy fixture list with league, JPT and hopefully a couple of FA Cup fixtures. We have a league match on a Saturday, then then one leg of the area final the following Tuesday. Lambert, Jaidi, Lallana, Hammond and Harding are starting to look a bit jaded. Which game would you rest them for*. *By this point you would hope Saints are a good 5 or 6 points clear of the drop zone, but still probably 9 or 10 from the playoffs.
