  1. I don't know what exactly defines a sports. Does it have to involve some kind of physical exertion or movement? If it's just about competing then scrabble is a sport. Maybe it does take lots of skill and years to master, but then you could say that about Subbuteo. That's hardly a sport. I'd have said snooker was a sport, but darts not. I don't know where you'd draw the line between "sports" and "game" but it's somewhere between the two IMO. I'm not sure how wide spread the audience is, but I though most players were from Stoke or Colchester.
  2. Wonder if they will have this bint on the side of their cars...
  3. This was my favourite part.
  4. I was on about the home game later on in the season, although I've heard the away game was equally disappointing, as were both games the following season and the 0-0 this season. Think it was a Firday night actually. Certainly an evening match and we were on sky. They took the lead after about 4 minutes. When ten put pressure on until Saga got an equaliser after about 25 mins. They went straight up the other end from kick off and scored. Stayed at 1-2 for the last 70 minutes of bore-inspiring football. Wright was crap in that game too.
  5. Oh, we are being set up for a horrible fall here. Just hope Saints keep their feet on the ground.
  6. Wont be doing Exeter on Boxing day, but I'm going to try and make Colchester. New ground for me, but whenever we play Colchester it is ALWAYS a completely sh*te game. I will never forget getting beaten by them 2-1 at home in the playoff season. Sh*te game, no atmosphere.
  7. Agreed. You might aswell have WWE wrestling in there. Even if it were a sport, it's an obscure one watched and played by a handful of lardy blokes. How a darts player could win "Sports" personality of the year over a Formula 1 World Champion or a top cyclist. Personally want Jenson Button to get it, although I am a big F1 fan, so that's probably a bit biased. Button and Cavendish are both deserving IMO.
  8. We wouldn't have kept control for very long, frog involvement or not. It is always difficult to rule a much larger country a long way away. The needs of America are much different and more diverse than in the UK. It would be like Britain being governed by Tenerife. It just wouldn't work. I can't think of any similar examples in the modern world of one country governing an equal sized or larger country. The Danes have Greenland, but that's just a very frosty arse end of nowhere.

I'll give it a go... It has really come to something when we are arguing about THIS form by a Saints team. "Saints can't stop winning" "Stop point that out" "Get behind the team FFS!" "Get behind misleading statistics FFS!" "It doesn't matter if we kepe winning, we're winning ****ly!" Personally I'm delighted we are winning matches. It may not always be pretty, but Stoke made a decent fist of getting into and staying in The Prem with one great big hoof-fest. Saturdays match may not have been "total football", but when are cup ties against League 2 sides EVER classic. Every year we get a third round tie between a Prem side and a lower league side on TV. There is occasionally an upset, but scarcely is there a great display of football. You can only beat what's put infront of you. We may have been lethargic but we did it. It was pretty comfortable despite the score line. The o.g. was a fluke and I think we'd just switched off by the time pen was conceded.
  12. It's a bit like Beavis and Butthead IMO. Terrible. But when you're rat-arsed it's the best thing that's ever been created.
  13. I think the UN and or the USA will intervene long before either of those countries have a capable nuclear weapon.
  14. I don't think the crisis would ever have gotten to that stage. Both sides were desperate for an excuse to back down without losing face. Afterall, nobody wins a nuclear war. Even if there was a conflict, I don't think nukes would have been involved. I would guess at a Falklands style battle between two larger countries over a small island. I would imaginge the US would have won fairly quickly and convincingly given their proximity to Cuba. It is ironic that the most destructive weapon ever made has infact prevented major conflict between any nation equiped with it.
  15. Very tempting, let me sleep on it. Can I ask as to when and where you got it? Was it an official Saints auction? May I enquire as to why you are selling it?
  16. Good. Manor GP is a sh*te name. I'm not mad about the Virgin brand, or Dickie B himself, but it's an improvement IMO. I'm guessing a white livery with red trim. At least Glock will feel at home.
  17. Aren't most wins by at least one?
  18. Well done, you've spotted the joke there.
  19. I think D-day showed the massive amount of time and resources it takes to prepare a successful beach invasion. I don't think the Germans could have conquered the Soviet Union AND succesfully invaded Britain at the same time. If the invasion had been succesful, a lot of troops would have been needed to occupy Britain, probably as many as were posted in Northern France in real life. Even in a straight fight between Germany and Russia, Russia is a big place with a massive army. I'd still have put my money on Russia.
  20. "A police spokesman said the family that lived at the farm - a husband and wife and two young children - have been left ''terrified''" "Terrified" isn't quite how I'd have put it.
  21. I prefer Antonio as a sub. Scheiderlin has disappointed me a bit in recent games. At Northants I thought he should have made hay against such poor opposition, but never really made much of an impact. I'd like to see Mellis given a try out. You don't get into Chelsea's youth team with toblerone feet and he might just add a bit of spark in the centre. I know, I was assuming he was fit. I not, I'd go with Lallana playing off Rickie and Mills on the left.
  22. I'm still convinced 4-4-2 is the way forward. Actually it's incredible how many have jumped that ship because of one poor result against Brighton. - - - - - - - - - - - Bart Murty - - - Thomas - - - Jaidi - - - Harding Waigo - - Hammond - - - Mellis - - - Lallana - - - - - - Lambert - - - Connolly
  23. Enough of this mongfest.
  24. Brilliant. I'm working on the FA Cup weekend, but I'll be off for a midweek game. Another new ground to tick off.
