Very poor today. Had little service, but we got nothing out of him. Having said that, he is L1 top scorer and has been ill, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm surprised and appalled that Darren Powell wasn't the first name you mentioned. He was... just... awful. Perhaps James is just the new scapegoat, but today he was very poor. Aside from the penalty, which was absolutely school boy, he just doesn't run and I've never seen him win a header. Whenever our attack ends up at his feet, he just seems to run fresh out of ideas and hit a long ball into the box from nearer the halfway line than the byline. I left the game feeling a bit p*ssed off. Not because I'm a negative budgie, but the manner in which the game panned out. For a start throwing away the lead is never good. Doing it twice at home... very disappointing. Then there was the goals we conceded. I wouldn't have expected out under 15 side to have given away that pen. The second; nobody tracking the run, challenging the shot, the 'keeper spilled it right back infront of the goal and we were very pedestrian following up. We also seemed to run out of idea second half and good players like Schneiderlin and Lallana resorted to hoofball.

BWP is definitely the nearest comparison I can think of. Occasionally brilliant, but frequently offside and wasteful,
-
For their second pen shout, their player was definitely looking for it. Went down too easily, even if there was contact.

Two absolutely class goals punctuated 90+ minutes of hoof, offside and kindergaten defending. The goals were worth the ticket price on their own though. Davis - 7 Good pen save. Soooooooo unlucky with the rebound. Should have done better with the second IMO. James - 3 Can't run or jump, so doesn't even try to do either. Crosses from too deep and should be shot for the penalty. Trottman - 5 Another shaky game from him. Jaidi - 6 Good in the air, not all that convincing. Harding - 6 Solid but very quiet. Antonio - 5 Has been figured out. Hammond - 6 Must have neck ache with the ball going over his head. Schneiderlin - 5 As above, but wasteful in possesion. Lallana - 7 Absolute quality for his goal, not a left winger though. Connelly - 9 MOTM. Absolutely fantastic goal. Great assist too. Lambert - 3 Had little supply, did nothing. Is he still ill? Subs: Murty - 6 Good shot, easily better than James Waigo - 4 Having an offside party all of his own.
-
I'd stick with the 4-4-2 which has worked so well in every game except Brighton. I'd play Mills on the left, Lallana playing off Lambert and Connolly the 'super-sub'.

I've got Digital Scalextric, it's brillaint.

Thanks all. Ended up getting a 3m cable from PC World for £17.

I'm pretty sure I have forgotten EVERYTHING I learned in A level maths and physics, and it was only three years ago. All complicated and pointless.

Shame they're only releasing it on the Wii and PSP. I've been looking for a decent F1 game on the PS3, but the best I can find appears to be F1 Championship Edition, which was released 3 years ago.

Stern John another recent adition.

Good luck to him. A decent pro and has obvious quality, but it just isn't working out for him here.

PNE have just announced losses of some £9m for last year. I think if we offered them anything in the region of half a million they'd take it and run. Other than that I'd like to see Perry out and bring back Jan-Paul Saeijs. Not going to happen I know, but I liked Size and think we would have excellent options at the back with those two, Thomas and Jaidi.

Spa has it's liscence back for at least the next two years. http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/091118181909.shtml Anyone still interested in going next season?

Assuming money is no object (it is, but let's assume it isn't) what's the best value for money HDMI cable out there. I've seen them on eBay for £1.50 and I've seen them in Curry's for £100 plus. Obviously there is going to be a difference in quality, how noticeable is it? Anyone had good/bad experiences or can reccomend a model?
-
I wouldn't mind a Hind, but £29k for a heli which isn't flyable? No thanks. Perhaps our billionaire owners could fork out and we could stick it outside SMS.
-
You don't think he might have thought of that at the start of the season? A crap bunch of players from last year, minus about 8 of the better ones, a new manager, a new board, a new owner and a 10 point deduction to boot. You don't think that possibility MIGHT have occured to him when he signed the contract.

Yes. Things are exactly the same now as 1941. No difference at all. Nothing has improved.

I am aware that there are many problems in Pakistan and that many militants actually come from Pakistan into Afghanistan. At the moment though, that's all it is. Small bands of militants crossing the border. My point is that if we were to pull out of Afghanistan now, these militants would be roaming through Afghanistan unchecked and it wouldn't be long before anarchy and full scale civil war we at the fore. That could then potentially spill over into Pakistan.
-
The job exactly is to try and contain and defeat Taliban militants who are still at large in Afghanistan and to train the local Police and armed forced to maintain peace after we have left. You claim they will never be defeated. Yes you are right. Same as you will never stop a determined nutter from getting onto an airliner and blowing it up. Does that mean we should just do away with airport security and let anybody on with whatever they want in their suitcase? It's about minimalising the risk. If we can control neutralise the talliban as much as possible, then in the future they may be limited to isolated, localised bombings. If on the other hand we up sticks and leave now, we will create absolute anarchy. The Afghan Police and army will be unable to maintain peace and we will be left with a very violent civil way. This would then spill over into Pakistan, who have nukes, and suddenly the whole of the middle east would make the current situation look like a teddy bear's picnic.
