You don't need tickets to get into Befords. ;-) Not yet, are you going to this one?
-
I'd actually like us to not get promoted, but win the FA Cup. That way, next season we can be the first team every to win a sextuple (probably): The League, FA Cup, League Cup, JPT, Community Shield and Europa League.

Mercedes don't seem all that keen on Button and he now looks like a shoe in for the other McLaren seat. Shame. I'd have liked to have seen him at Mercedes with Kimi in the Macca.
-
He will be if he carries his plan through on Saturday. FWIW I intend to be in Bedfords.

They don't have the players to be world beaters, but they really have underperformed. Couldn't have asked for an easier qualifying group either, but they couldn't even finish ahead of the worst Norway side I've seen in years. They got outplayed by Macedonia when they came to Hampden.

I'd say a lot of the stuff we played from the start of 2007 onwards was dreadful. Yes we had a few good days, like the 6-0 at Wolves, but there were far more worse days. I remember getting beaten at home by Colchester in the playoff season. It was absolutely appaling. When Bale left and Skacel and Belmadi were removed from midfield, we seemed to run out of ideas.

Who's cider you on in this argument?

Would love to see Burley at Pompey. After all, Jermaine Wright is still without a club and he deserves a second crack at the Prem.

A legend doesn't nescessarily have to be good. Dia could be considered a legend, but for all the wrong reasons.

Can't understand why Mercedes would want Button out. Fair enough if they want a German driver, but do they really need two? I'd much rather Button stayed and Raikkonen went to McLaren.

Was reading MLT's autobiography the other day (cheers Baj) and there were references to several players, including a certain James Beattie. Whilst not in the same class as Le Tiss, I do sometimes wonder why he isn't refered to as a "legend". I would certainly class him in the lower reaches of legendary status. Scored a lot of goals, including several winners against Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Pompey and Spurs. Some fantastic efforts, such as those scored at SJP and at home to WBA in the cup final season. Also put in a pretty decent work shift and has never bad mouthed the club since leaving. For me there several attributes which could earn a player legendary status. Loyalty - Either by long service or by turning down better offers. E.g. MLT, Claus, Paine, Benali even Kelvin. Number of goals - Either throughout their career or in a particular season. E.g. Channon, MLT, Moran, Paine, Big Ron, Beattie Skills and quality of goals - Just the pure skill E.g. MLT, Pahars, Ekelund, Keegan Scores in big matches - Relegation deciders, cup finals or against the big teams. E.g. Stokes, Pahars, Beattie, even Stern John Attitude or Work Rate - They always give 100% even if they aren't the most gifted. Benali, Dodd, Killer, Ormerod, CMFG, Niemi Appearance - ... Ostlund, Keegan, Crouch Scores against Pompey E.g. Beattie, Pahars, Dodd You might not regard many of those listed above as 'legends' I was just giving examples. But what does a player have to do to be remembered as being that little bit special?

Perry - I think he is just that little bit too old. Okay HDAJFU last season when we were desperate, but I think he is a weak link and we could do better for a sensible amount of cash. Holmes - Not convinced by him or his injury record. Pardew doesn't seem to rate him. LB - I see it differently, with Mills as adequate cover and more needed at LM. Think we could use a Skacel type wide player, who can give us real width and put in a decent cross. CM - Yes, possibly. Another defensive minded player, preferably of the brick out-house build.
-
Ins I'd like another striker, somebody with pace who can come on and change the game. Waigo is there or there abouts, but I'd keep him as an option on the wing and I'm not convinced by him yet. Another centre half , on top of the others we already have. I like to have 4 decent options. At the mo we have Trottman, Jaidi and Thomas Right back. James is hit and miss. Murty has injury problems. Left Winger. Yes, there is nothing wrong with Lallana, but he isn't a left winger really and Mills is more of a LB IMO. Outs Saga, Perry, Holmes, Forecast, Molyneux, Pulis. Not saying anyone will take them, but there the ones I'd like rid of.

I do not understand. Rule 1?

I said 20s before that clip. That starts at 1:40 and the goal is scored at 1:50. The offside occurs before their bloke on the right has a shot. The move starts with him latching onto a hopeful punt over the top. Anyway, that's fairly trivial in the scheme of things. Other than Burton's lunge well wide a few minutes before and Barts initial save before the goal, I don't think Charlton had any other real chances all match.

Last Christmas was terrible. My mum's dyslexic and put temazepam on the Christmas cake.
-
The goal itself may have been on, but when the first cross came in about 20s before, their guy (Shelvey I think) was 2 yards off.
-
You think you've got it bad, I'm an agnostic, dyslexic insomniac. I lie awake every night, wondering if there really is a dog.

I've said on another thread, but I really don't find it that exciting. We've managed to score 10 points more than the teams around us in under 1/3 of the season. Even with our poor start. Somehow I doubt we will be competing with the cellar dwellars come the end of the season. We hammered the MK Dons and made Charlton look like a pub team. To say 2-1 flattered them is an understatement. We should have scored 5 and their goal was more offside than BWP, Waigo and Leon Best put together. On the plus side, at least next time we hammer one of the top half teams, we wont have to put up with retarded fans saying, "We should be beating Southampton, they're in the bottom three for a reason FFS!"
-
Obviously, but the truth is it's out of our hands. We need to convinvingly outperform about 17 teams above us for the rest of the season. That will require the teams nearer the top having a few coque-ups.
-
If you wear this, nobody will be able to see you. Nobody will pass to you, but you might be able to sneak up on a few opponents.
-
If they do go on a winning streak, they will be taking points off the top teams, which will help our playoff campaign. There are no prizes for whoever gets out the relegation zone quickest. I know this is exagerating things, but I'd rather get out of the drop zone on 1st March and make it into the playoffs on 1st April. Rather than be out the drop zone come Sunday evening and still 6 points adrift of the playoffs when Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafend come to SMS at the end of the season.
-
Not remotely bothered about getting out the drop zone tonight. If anything I'd rather the teams in the top half dropped points, which would give us a better chance of making the playoffs. If this team carries on playing like this, there is no way on Earth we will get relegated. I'd rather things stayed fairly tight in the middle so that we have an outside chance of sneaking the top 6 around March or April time.

I think the singing at SMS has become a bit crap really. It starts off with that f**king "Shoot the Pompey Scum" song about 5 times, then OWTS at 110mph, then "STPS" again. Can't we ditch "STPS" all together, sing OWTS slowly and come up with something a bit more creative.
