  1. I seem to remember that at the time of Pearson not having his contract renewed, it was claimed (without much challenge) that he was on 300,000. Now someone has claimed a "source" has told them a different figure, coincidently I'm sure, at a time when sections of the fanbase are looking foir mud to throw at Lowe, knowing our league position, and general bleak outlook with make it stick. Anonymus sources are always dangerous things to buy into, they allow someone to gain the appearence of having a certain credence and respect/connection with an organisation, without providing any proof, and all the while pushing a story that fits their agenda, and if the facts turn out to be wrong? Don't look at me your honour, my 'source' must have got it Wrong!
  2. Not sure how that is crap my friend, The definition of the popular vote is this, The result of the votes of the eligible voters. In fact the statement you made just seems to highlight the problem I mentioned in my first paragraph, of people who don't hold Lowe in high regard trying to spin the result in any way they can...
  3. What this boils down to is Lowe having the majority of the popular vote, and those who don't hold him in high regard trying to spin it in any other way. Once more, socialist superfan Richard Chorley grabs an opporutunity to make a ill informed gesture, apropos of nothing, whilst others (who are really old enough to know better) also joined in, to make their cause seem more pantomime than politik (on an important issue too). I don't know why they are celbrating, since their actions acting their shoe size rather than age, seem to play directly into Lowe's description of them as "The Lunatic Fringe". And what, in real terms, did it achieve? Will the world stop spinning tomorrow, or even start to stop? Lowe will be in a stronger position than ever. And those who acted up today may have a warm feeling in their egos tommorow when they look for their names in the local press, but they have simply made themselves look foolish, and shown just how irrelevent to the position of power they truly are.
  4. And the view/reply ratio of this thread compared to others...
  5. +1 It seems that addressing a fact of life in respect to our financial situation is seen by some on this forum for 'Aggh, I hate him I hate him, Slagging the club off, burn the witch' kneejerk hysteria. Every Bloody time.
  6. Maybe after a few results like the one today, he would be so good as to rejoin the 'misguided' fans in supporting the team?
  7. What is the point of TT? I can see how that would be half amusing for roughly 15 seconds, but for that money? Non. And talking of online shopping, I'm trying to order some Issey Miyake (sp?) at the moment, some toilet attendent spray man tagged me with some the other day, but due to my inebriation at the time, I have no idea what variant of the product it was. Anyone know which one I should order?
  8. Come to Liverpool, it's much better.
  9. Unlucky today, got sucker-punched at the start, thought OL should have a yellow card and severe warning, the second goal was miles offside, and if those elements had worked out we could have been looking at a draw at least. I doubt we will be in the relegation places 10 games in.
  10. To whom? Which mega bucks constortia are currently begging for a chance to buy us? Certain posters on here have an unhealthy obsession with taking a pop at Lowe for absolutely nothing, such as a natural face he has druring a football match...
  11. And therein lies the difference. As there was a danger of bias creeping into the reporting (or presentation) of the news, MSNBC pulled the two anchors. Has fox ever done the same? Like **** they have. The same anchors who would east **** directly from McCains Anus if he told them it was chocolate are still there, peddling their right wing inferences, while the channel sadly trots out it's ridiculous 'fair and balanced' line.

  16. Not this weekend. International Break:smt117 One thing I will regret when heading back to 'pool is the fact that no pub in the city will ever show a saints match unless we're in the cup against them or everton...
  17. Very good. And what, pray tell, has Southampton got the fortune of exhibiting this weekend? Pint and a fight, plus vomit? Oh, that's right it has nothing, all year round....
  18. Or McMenemy, with his Drink Driving Conviction. Especially dishonourable seeing as he was the promoting Barbican at the time...
  19. And with this comes the problem of winning the two previous games. The other players may have had more time to integrate, so rather than upset the 'gang' mentality that has emerged, the new boys may now get put in, seeing as the established youngsters have had a chance to fail.
  20. Indeed, a real 'crazy gang' us-against-the-world spirit, reminiscent of the original Wimbledon, mixed in with Rudd Gullit's dream of 'shexy football'.
  21. Whenever I go out In Liverpool, it always amazes me how much better the night-life is. From the traditional student dives, to the wine bars, to the ****tail hang outs, jazz venues, and mamba rooms, it seems that every taste is catered for. They have venues like walkabout and mood dedicated to keeping the cheese/chav/R'n'b lite crwod away from the rest of the clubs populace, so everybody knows to go anywhere but there. Whenever I go to Southampton however, it seems to be that the only venues above tiny or small levels are either Ikon, diva or their scaled down clone alternatives. I mean, Unit 22 and Nexus were hardly my choice of night, but at least they offered something different. And before anyone chips in, I regard orange rooms/mono etc. as somewhere to go for a drink at the start of an evening, not the end. I honestly think that if Southampton followed some of Liverpool's leads on night-life, (as well as how to put your city on the map for the right reasons http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/2017912/How-the-Chief-Constable-of-Merseyside-Bernard-Hogan-Howe-cut-crime-again.html http://www.liverpool08.com/) people could be proud to announce their location again (I'm actually born and raised in Winchester, but you get the picture, and besides, not many people North of Basingstoke know where Winchester is
  22. I think (well, hope) this is a gallows humour joke , to make light of our financial situation. However, if it is not, those involved would do better to organise a March of 15,000 extra saints fans. They could march on the Stadium, March their way through the turnstiles (paying as they march) and then to the 'sit down march' as they cheer the saints on. To a 2-1 home defeat. In a match where it is announced our best player is to be sold :-) P.S. Top bombing on the staed aims of the wind up I can see it now: MW: "Boss ther iz 12 people outside ya, and zey look preety disgruntallled" RL: "Cripes! Confounded again! Damn that wastrel Burley. Oh well Michael, best retrieve the money we've been stealing all these years from the Safe we bulit into the original Ted Bates statue, and buy back all the players we sold simply to line our pockets. Oh, and get any of the multitudes of investors on the phone, and this time lets not pretend to be spacemen and make farting sounds down the receiver when they offer to purchase our shares at thrice the value we bought them for".
