  1. So many seem to have forgotten that last season at Everton he was a key, key player for them. Cannot understand this rewriting of history that always seems to happen. He was a top, top player for us .
  2. Much better performance - looked to have a much better shape today and thought PEH was immense and extremely strong. Only player I thought was poor was VVD. JWP is so dangerous - not just from dead balls but his delivery and touch on the ball was excellent. Only slight note of caution.......EVerton were the worst team to show up for many a year at St Marys.
  3. VVD has been a f***** disgrace. That goal is mainly on him (and Bertrand dithering at the back instead of clearing it when he had the chance). Doesn't matter that Saints have been far superior - still can't work the opposition goalkeeper and we look terrible at the back. What on earth has Yoshi/Stephens done wrong. VVD is not half the [player before his injury.
  4. whats the betting that the tool starts redmond and tadic again? if he starts long over gabbi then he should be fired on the spot
  5. Premier League - best league in the world my arse. It has become one of the dullest in the world - most teams seems afraid to lose and are set up so defensive it makes for awful games.
  6. Oh, come on. Bertrand has been here for just over 3 seasons and we resurrected his career which was going nowhere at the time. Calling him a great and loyal servant is completely OTT.
  7. Boufal off....hahahahhahahahaha. How is this p****k in a job? Hopefully tomorrow he won't be
  8. This is the first time in years that I have voluntarily chosen to watch another game over Saints. Watching Leicester play City - despite Leicester losing they are playing lovely stuff and Puel has them well organised. MP has not the slightest clue what he is doing - Tadic is untouchable despite being utter s***e and we are not good enough under this clown to defend like Puel had us playing. IF he is not fired now my fear is it will be too little, too late when it finally happens. I would rather see Adkins take over as caretaker manager and inject a bot of a 'feelgood' factor back into the club. It is sorely lacking and MP is totally the worng guy for the club. Absolutely horrific mistake by Reed: 1) firing Puel 2) hiring this clown
  9. MP out - utter flippin' clown. Dropping Gabbi for the goal machine that is Long...wtf? So utterly predictable and utterly crap
  10. Utterly clueless.................playing the right way my arse. We are terrible and a complete non-factor.
  11. So you didn't enjoy the day out at Wembley? Thought that was a waste of time? Beating Arsenal, Liverpool (twice) on the way to Wembley and being desperately unlucky not to win the Final was no great shakes? No pleasing some people for sure.....yep, after the Cup Final it was a case of 'after the Lord Mayors show' but, quite honestly, Puel never had a chance with a large part of our fanbase. Well, I did say 'be careful what you wish for' in the summer when Pellegrino was linked (as absolutely nothing indicated he would be the type of manager Reed proclaimed) but here we are, getting worse and worse with a manager with no clue how to turn it around and with a deeply negative approach to the game (far more so than Puel in my opinion)
  12. Absolutely, and this season is going to be far, far worse than last season. For a start the pathetic display against Wolves has ensured there are unlikely to be any confidence boosting Cup runs and we will be a mile off 8th place this year.
  13. Forster's feet weren't set and that is absolutely critical for keepers - my daughter is one at a pretty high level. ALL her coaches have consistently taught her that the set position is critical to making saves. If you look at Forster, his feet are firmly planted to the ground and he is flat footed....it takes him 2 or 3 steps to get in position where he can extend his dive. BY which time it was too late. If his set position was better (lack of anticipation/preparation) then he would have had a much better chance of saving it. Begs the question - what kind of coaching are our keepers getting when our #1 consistently makes the same mistake (not being set correctly)?
  14. But this begs the question - why was he not playing from the start in place of the totally ineffectual Tadic? At the very least, his set pieces alone would have been worth being on the pitch. Like several of our younger players (Stephens, McQueen, JWP) they have all been harshly treated by a nomark manager who cannot get the best out of a decent, not great, squad of players.
  15. WTF was that about? Absolutely bloody ridiculous and really sums up how far out of his depth MP is.
  16. Bertrand was a bloody disgrace today (like most of the season). I would rather see Targett or McQueen in there - who would at least bloody try.
  17. My god, this bloke really is totally deluded.....................if that is a reference for how he wants us to play, god help us! Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrinio, speaking to MOTD: "We did everything we had to do against an opponent that was defending 90% of the game. We were much better than them in all different aspects of the game apart from efficiency. They had one chance and scored. It is really painful for us, we did everything. The intensity and football was good, but we lost. "I don't want to talk about luck. In this aspect we need to improve our accuracy. Today the spirit of the team and the attitude was really good. "We had to use this game as a reference about how I would like my team to play. We deserved more. "We have quality and capacity to keep playing in this way. We controlled the opponent totally in my view but in the respect of efficiency, Burnley were better than us."
  18. Utter BS.....you telling me Stephens, JWP, Redmond, VVD, Sims, McQueen, Romeu, Yoshida all went backwards under Puel. They were coached well - this clown HAS made players go backwards. Puel did a terrible job - 8th and a Cup Final. This clown - relegation beckons. Make the change now Saints before its too late. If no-one lined up bring back Adkins and get some bloody positivity in the club until the right manager is available
  19. WTF is this guy doing as our manager? Absolutely clueless and bringing JWP on in the 90th minute. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pellegrino out - before it's too late. make no mistake we are careering towards relegation with this clown in charge. So much for Reeds proclamations that he was going to bring attacking, exciting football......it is the total opposite and wtf was the point in firing Puel to bring in this clown? 3 shots on goal at home (again) and pedestrian rubbish.
  20. wtf.....what on earth does that piece of c**p Tadic have to do to get dropped? Talk about an unbalanced side - not really sure what on earth the manager is trying to achieve with that lineup.
  21. 2 - 1 Leicester....looking more and more like it is our players that were c**p as opposed to Puel
  22. Very worrying article in the Echo with ROmeu. Basically saying the manager wants the other teams forward players marked when we are 'attacking' in case we lose the ball and get an attack going. Talk about negative...........but must be wrong as we were promised exciting, attacking football when he was appointed. Dull fest tomorrow where we will be cautious to make sure Burnley can't score
  23. TBF, although I felt (and still do) that Puel was hard done by I was in the UK for the Man City game and have never been so bored at a football game as I was that day. Unlike the 70s, that match cost me over 40 quid and I spent the entire 90 minutes wishing I hadn't bothered. This season has been an extension of that exercise in futility and while entertainment is not guaranteed, it would be nice to have some occasionally. I cannot think of 1 single game under MP that has been in the least bit entertaining.
  24. not the messiah......but a damn sight better than mp
  25. actually, the commentators are commenting on the changes he has made to their setup and how comfortable they look in this new formation. oh and younger players getting a look in. shows how counter attacking with pace can make a difference as opposed to our plodding manner. looks like it was our players that were/are the problem, not puel
