What an absolute tool.......no Hoj, no Romeu and no pace. This manager is a dud.....Tadic but no Boufal He is so clueless he needs to go now. ABsolute f****** joke
-
OBviously wishful thinking but......they showed Thomas Tuchel in the crowd. Perhaps scouting Spurs for his first game in charge of Saints?
-
utter garbage.....and when we actually tried to play you could only wonder what would have happened if we had done that from the start. I am sick of the defensive, negative tactics with 11 behind the ball.....at least go for it and try to win some games. Taking our best midfielder (Hoj) off was baffling but then nothing this clown does surprises me. And certainly looks like Black is no longer at the club so that;s one less scapegoat. PELLEGRINO OUT
-
For all you lot constantly slagging Forster.......if not for him, we would be down by 5 or 6. This team is dire and coached by a buffoon.
-
We are getting what we deserve - nothing! To be set up with 11 behind the ball - or 1 up front with no other players in the same half as him - is disgusting. People rightly complain about Allardyce, Pulis, DYche, etc and their defensive, negative play but this clown takes it to a whole other level. If we don't fire him now I don't see how we will avoid relegation. Down 1-0, and he makes a like for like substitution (yes Austin nearly scored). Still can't believe we were promised an attacking, pressing manager when nothing he had ever done gave any hint this would be the case. Why not try someone like Hesketh in the 1st team squad? Utterly bored and utterly demoralized.
-
LOL.......this guy is so far out of his depth. It would be funny if it were for another team, but its just sad that this idiot managed to become Saints manager. Les Reed and board - hold your heads in shame. You fired Puel way too early and got a significant downgrade on him in as manager promising attacking, exciting football that was just an outright lie. I thought the 1st half performance against ARsenal was encouraging and then he obviously told them to sit deep which was never going to work: especially as Arsenal looked dire at the back. Now, for Chelsea he has effectively given up on the game and is looking to damage limitation rather than trying to win the game. Utterly clueless and his inevitable firing will be months too late. Make no mistake: with this clown in charge we are likely to go down.
-
No idea why so many on this site seem to loathe him. He was outstanding today .... the piece of skill in the 2nd half to lob the ball over the Arsenal player look up and play the perfect ball into Austin (whose control let him down) reminded me of MLT at his prime. He got stuck in, always made himself available and defended admirably. Very, very impressed with him today. He now needs to play that way consistently.
-
too defensive 2nd half. We ceded too much time and space whereas every time we attacked Arsenal looked dodgy. Poor finishing the difference between 1 and 3 points. But much improved displayes last 4 games.....just wish we did not go quite so defensive. JWP was immense 2nd half and PEH, Romeu, Stephens, Bertrand all excellent.
-
Why all the hatred for JWP? He has had a pretty darn good 1st half....tracked back, lovely control and getting stuck in. Redmond, on the other hand, has been truly awful and cannot seem to control, pass or use his head (very lucky not to give a penalty away). Good 1st half and nice to see Saints playing as an attacking unit. Last 3.5 games the manager has shown something he didn't previously and maybe he will be OK. In which case there will be massive humble pie from moi!!!!!!!
-
What a bloody clown. Going into it as defensive as we are will result in what we deserve: nothing. This guy is so clueless it is untrue......even Saturday against Everton when we were crushing them he made extremely defensive substitutions instead of going for the jugular. 4-0 City
-
So many seem to have forgotten that last season at Everton he was a key, key player for them. Cannot understand this rewriting of history that always seems to happen. He was a top, top player for us .
-
Much better performance - looked to have a much better shape today and thought PEH was immense and extremely strong. Only player I thought was poor was VVD. JWP is so dangerous - not just from dead balls but his delivery and touch on the ball was excellent. Only slight note of caution.......EVerton were the worst team to show up for many a year at St Marys.
-
VVD has been a f***** disgrace. That goal is mainly on him (and Bertrand dithering at the back instead of clearing it when he had the chance). Doesn't matter that Saints have been far superior - still can't work the opposition goalkeeper and we look terrible at the back. What on earth has Yoshi/Stephens done wrong. VVD is not half the [player before his injury.
-
whats the betting that the tool starts redmond and tadic again? if he starts long over gabbi then he should be fired on the spot
-
Premier League - best league in the world my arse. It has become one of the dullest in the world - most teams seems afraid to lose and are set up so defensive it makes for awful games.
-
Oh, come on. Bertrand has been here for just over 3 seasons and we resurrected his career which was going nowhere at the time. Calling him a great and loyal servant is completely OTT.
-
Boufal off....hahahahhahahahaha. How is this p****k in a job? Hopefully tomorrow he won't be
-
This is the first time in years that I have voluntarily chosen to watch another game over Saints. Watching Leicester play City - despite Leicester losing they are playing lovely stuff and Puel has them well organised. MP has not the slightest clue what he is doing - Tadic is untouchable despite being utter s***e and we are not good enough under this clown to defend like Puel had us playing. IF he is not fired now my fear is it will be too little, too late when it finally happens. I would rather see Adkins take over as caretaker manager and inject a bot of a 'feelgood' factor back into the club. It is sorely lacking and MP is totally the worng guy for the club. Absolutely horrific mistake by Reed: 1) firing Puel 2) hiring this clown
-
MP out - utter flippin' clown. Dropping Gabbi for the goal machine that is Long...wtf? So utterly predictable and utterly crap
-
Utterly clueless.................playing the right way my arse. We are terrible and a complete non-factor.
-
So you didn't enjoy the day out at Wembley? Thought that was a waste of time? Beating Arsenal, Liverpool (twice) on the way to Wembley and being desperately unlucky not to win the Final was no great shakes? No pleasing some people for sure.....yep, after the Cup Final it was a case of 'after the Lord Mayors show' but, quite honestly, Puel never had a chance with a large part of our fanbase. Well, I did say 'be careful what you wish for' in the summer when Pellegrino was linked (as absolutely nothing indicated he would be the type of manager Reed proclaimed) but here we are, getting worse and worse with a manager with no clue how to turn it around and with a deeply negative approach to the game (far more so than Puel in my opinion)
-
Absolutely, and this season is going to be far, far worse than last season. For a start the pathetic display against Wolves has ensured there are unlikely to be any confidence boosting Cup runs and we will be a mile off 8th place this year.

Forster's feet weren't set and that is absolutely critical for keepers - my daughter is one at a pretty high level. ALL her coaches have consistently taught her that the set position is critical to making saves. If you look at Forster, his feet are firmly planted to the ground and he is flat footed....it takes him 2 or 3 steps to get in position where he can extend his dive. BY which time it was too late. If his set position was better (lack of anticipation/preparation) then he would have had a much better chance of saving it. Begs the question - what kind of coaching are our keepers getting when our #1 consistently makes the same mistake (not being set correctly)?
-
But this begs the question - why was he not playing from the start in place of the totally ineffectual Tadic? At the very least, his set pieces alone would have been worth being on the pitch. Like several of our younger players (Stephens, McQueen, JWP) they have all been harshly treated by a nomark manager who cannot get the best out of a decent, not great, squad of players.
-
WTF was that about? Absolutely bloody ridiculous and really sums up how far out of his depth MP is.
