  1. TBF he is 100% accurate. Never ceases to amaze me how hysterical some on here are.
  2. Yep, being an utter troll
  3. But it was not a convincing display at all. And he's right.....we need that commanding CB and VVD is an utter disgrace for us having to start the season like this. I never want to see VVD in a Saints shirt again - he is an utter s***face.
  4. JWP showing why he should have started. Different side when he came on......Davis ponderous, slow and Romeu did not have a good name as did none of the back line. Overall a terrible display and why we did not go for it against 10 men I do not know. So who is to blame now Puel is no longer here. We are so poor in midfield - we had no ideas and Tadic continues to immensely frustrate me as does Redmond. redmond has a ton of quality but he is muscled off the ball and disappears for long stretches which is simply not good enough. A win is a win - but it was a terrible display truth be told and deeply concerning. While I think Pellegrino was too slow to make changes the reality is that VVD has let us all down by being a total c**k. It is obvious to anyone that Yoshi and STephens both need a commanding CB next to them.
  5. Think you are mistaking Davis for JWP based on that. Davis was utter s***e last week and slowed everything down whereas JWP was a threat and unfairly subbed. Davis - the most overrated underrated player I can remember
  6. I really like the way we do our business - quietly and going for young players that are not the finished article but could be gems with good coaching (and very high resale value). They don't all work out but compared to the stupid money being thrown around the players we pick up are bargain prices (comparatively speaking). When you look at some of the crazy money being thrown around our model is so much better.........
  7. Everton are stockpiling players - and of the older variety. They had some promising youngsters coming through last year.....looks like they won't get much of a chance now. Sound familiar? All very well buying these players but Koeman is thinking short term (he won't be there in a couple of years) and the age of his buys is pretty old.
  8. OMG - take a look at this article. Looks like it has been written by a 5 year old on crack. Proof checking obviously not part of the Daily Fail any more http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4789216/Gao-Jisheng-new-owner-Southampton-200m-takeover.html
  9. TBF....I thought Puel was hard done by. But to claim we played yesterday like we did first 2 games last season is rewriting history a bit. We were defensive, cautious and ponderous (although some lovely passing) in those games last season. yesterday (1st half at least) we were far more dynamic, pressing and attack minded. Cautiously optimistic for the season ahead if we can get 1-2 players in (or VVD regains his head) and our players actually start hitting the back of the net
  10. We should have stuffed them. Ran out of ideas but more attacking play and pressing means we will be better to watch this season. Positives: Stephens, Cedric, Bertrand, redmond, jwp (no idea why he was subbed) Negatives: Yoshida (damn VVD, he has let us all down and we need to sell him now and get a good replacement in), Tadic, Davis (way too slow) and Gabbiadini (looks a pale imitation of the player we first signed) Shooting was absolutely abysmal and way too predictable. Only JWP looked like an attacking threat driving to goal from midfield. Tadic does my nut in, Davis too slow and we desperately need a quality CB to partner Stephens. Not a bad start, just deeply frustrating that we cannot score for toffee
  11. Very impressed with MP's words to date - lets hope he can get the players performing! He needs some time to get his ideas working and I hope the fanbase doesn't get restless if it does take some time.
  12. We absolutely do have a good number of bellends on here. Seems everyone in football - outside of the more moronic elements of our fanbase - really rate JWP. Still, the armchair generals on here are no doubt right and everyone else is wrong......
  13. To be fair there are a disproportionate number of helmets on this site too. Many of the posters comments make me cringe and look like they've been written by a 5 year old spoilt brat. That is Internet forums for you.....not representative of real life and inhabited by strange creatures (me included!).
  14. Anyone who thinks that Forster will be replaced is smoking crack......they would not have given him another improved contract less than 12 months from another contract extension if they were not happy with him. While he was not great last season, in common with many other players, he was certainly far from the liability our resident forum experts thought he was and was still near the top of the clean sheets list.
  15. Lets just hope that he punches that c**t VVD in the nuts if he ever trains with Saints again like he did in a match once. Sounds like a typical Saints signing and filling the sizeable hole left by Shcneiderlin/Wanyama. Be interesting to see how MP keeps all our midfield options happy....certainly a choice from Boufal, Tadic, JWP, Davis, Romeu, mario, Clasie, PEH, Redmond would seem to indicate that at least 1 to 2 of these could be surplus to requirements in the near future.
  16. http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/premier-league/liverpool/revealed-what-southampton-have-told-virgil-van-dijk-about-his-dream-move-to-liverpool-36011729.html Lets hope this is the case. Would give that miserable excuse of a city (liverpool) yet another reason to be 'woe is us'.
  17. What a dumb comment. If you buy into anything that p**** VVD says you are wrong - we have ambition as a club. Anyone can see that......can we compete with City, Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal? Of course not. Some of you are so deluded its untrue - read the f***** accounts you numpty: this "profit" so many of you bang on about is untrue. Still won';t stop people making things up to fit their agenda.
  18. Found this article online (http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/08/01/what-happened-to-southamptons-200708-opening-day-xi/) relating to our starting XI for the 2007/08 season. Looking back at that starting XI it was utter, utter garbage as was the football. Shows just how far we have come.
  19. He was very good for Norwich today. Tidy, pressing and his passing was a class above the rest of the Norwich team (quick to make the pass especially when under pressure). Fulham are a joy to watch - young, fast and very attacking.
  20. I;m afraid Pat that your ongoing obsession with knocking Les Reed is getting the better of you. What on earth makes you think that the club is deceiving anyone. Genuine ITKs that post snippets have been consistent VVD is not for sale and he has been told that. Whether we get rid of the lying, utter scumbag that is VVD is open to debate but the club has done nothing wrong.
  21. This truly is utter garbage. Only one Saints player has even looked in the slightest bit hungry/dangerous: Boufal. Davis as slow as ever, no attacking intent and zero threat. We seem to have subbed one defensive manager for another.
  22. wow....this is seriously bad. Know its only pre-season but I see zero change from the way we played last season. Slow, ponderous and defensive.
  23. Just like last season - huge gap between midfield and front players. So far in pre-season we have looked rubbish - no attacking threat whatsoever. Starting to get a bit worried about the coming season.
  24. Aside from Boufal, we look utter s***e
  25. Holy mother of god.....listening to some of the posters on here you'd think we've been flirting with relegation these last 4 years. Comments such as 'last few pre-seasons a disaster in terms of preparation' etc. are beyond ludicrous. I'm sure we'll sign another 1 or 2 players before the end of the window. Do we need wholesale changes - no. Do we need extra in terms of quality - yes. Last season the team under performed badly in the main - we'll see this year if it was the manager or players at fault. So many posters on here have spent way too long playing Football Manager I reckon - hopefully we will continue to punch above our weight but not sure how anyone is expecting us to keep up with the likes of City, etc with the totally obscene amounts of money floating around.
