Very impressed with MP's words to date - lets hope he can get the players performing! He needs some time to get his ideas working and I hope the fanbase doesn't get restless if it does take some time.

We absolutely do have a good number of bellends on here. Seems everyone in football - outside of the more moronic elements of our fanbase - really rate JWP. Still, the armchair generals on here are no doubt right and everyone else is wrong......
-
To be fair there are a disproportionate number of helmets on this site too. Many of the posters comments make me cringe and look like they've been written by a 5 year old spoilt brat. That is Internet forums for you.....not representative of real life and inhabited by strange creatures (me included!).

Anyone who thinks that Forster will be replaced is smoking crack......they would not have given him another improved contract less than 12 months from another contract extension if they were not happy with him. While he was not great last season, in common with many other players, he was certainly far from the liability our resident forum experts thought he was and was still near the top of the clean sheets list.

Lets just hope that he punches that c**t VVD in the nuts if he ever trains with Saints again like he did in a match once. Sounds like a typical Saints signing and filling the sizeable hole left by Shcneiderlin/Wanyama. Be interesting to see how MP keeps all our midfield options happy....certainly a choice from Boufal, Tadic, JWP, Davis, Romeu, mario, Clasie, PEH, Redmond would seem to indicate that at least 1 to 2 of these could be surplus to requirements in the near future.

http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/premier-league/liverpool/revealed-what-southampton-have-told-virgil-van-dijk-about-his-dream-move-to-liverpool-36011729.html Lets hope this is the case. Would give that miserable excuse of a city (liverpool) yet another reason to be 'woe is us'.

What a dumb comment. If you buy into anything that p**** VVD says you are wrong - we have ambition as a club. Anyone can see that......can we compete with City, Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal? Of course not. Some of you are so deluded its untrue - read the f***** accounts you numpty: this "profit" so many of you bang on about is untrue. Still won';t stop people making things up to fit their agenda.

Found this article online (http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/08/01/what-happened-to-southamptons-200708-opening-day-xi/) relating to our starting XI for the 2007/08 season. Looking back at that starting XI it was utter, utter garbage as was the football. Shows just how far we have come.
-
He was very good for Norwich today. Tidy, pressing and his passing was a class above the rest of the Norwich team (quick to make the pass especially when under pressure). Fulham are a joy to watch - young, fast and very attacking.
-
I;m afraid Pat that your ongoing obsession with knocking Les Reed is getting the better of you. What on earth makes you think that the club is deceiving anyone. Genuine ITKs that post snippets have been consistent VVD is not for sale and he has been told that. Whether we get rid of the lying, utter scumbag that is VVD is open to debate but the club has done nothing wrong.

This truly is utter garbage. Only one Saints player has even looked in the slightest bit hungry/dangerous: Boufal. Davis as slow as ever, no attacking intent and zero threat. We seem to have subbed one defensive manager for another.
-
wow....this is seriously bad. Know its only pre-season but I see zero change from the way we played last season. Slow, ponderous and defensive.
-
Just like last season - huge gap between midfield and front players. So far in pre-season we have looked rubbish - no attacking threat whatsoever. Starting to get a bit worried about the coming season.
-
Aside from Boufal, we look utter s***e
-
Holy mother of god.....listening to some of the posters on here you'd think we've been flirting with relegation these last 4 years. Comments such as 'last few pre-seasons a disaster in terms of preparation' etc. are beyond ludicrous. I'm sure we'll sign another 1 or 2 players before the end of the window. Do we need wholesale changes - no. Do we need extra in terms of quality - yes. Last season the team under performed badly in the main - we'll see this year if it was the manager or players at fault. So many posters on here have spent way too long playing Football Manager I reckon - hopefully we will continue to punch above our weight but not sure how anyone is expecting us to keep up with the likes of City, etc with the totally obscene amounts of money floating around.
-
You're right.....we should just bid 60 million so the likes of you are happy.
-
And they have signed Mendy too.....
-
Some proper mentalists on here - anyone who cannot see that Stephens is developing into a top, top CB is mad. As soon as he came on yesterday the whole back line improved - he was marshalling the defence, reading the game superbly and his passing was sublime. He has come on such a long way and really looking forward to seeing how much more he improves this year. And Puel deserves a LOT of credit for playing him rather than taking the easy option and playing Caceres (as so many on here were pleading for).

Sidney is a troll. Period. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it is yet another login for the nutter that is Glasgow/Bournemouth/Heisenberg
-
Unfortunately he/it is not in the slightest bit funny. Dragging the forum down with his blatant trolling, yes but funny no.
-
For once, that is actually very amusing! Kudos to Nick/UI
-
Don't think he would be sorely missed if he left. Find his comments quite outrageous.....he was utter gash last year and his finishing was beyond woeful. and this is even before the fact he was offside way too much. Very limited player who runs around a lot and therefore gets adulation from the crowd........

Sky Sports - No 'top' players leaving Southampton this summer.
washsaint replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
But he's spot on. How on earth can you proclaim MP plays the football we all love to watch when you have likely never seen a game he has managed? Can I remind you that Alaves finished 9th and got to a Cup Final and scored very few goals? He may be brilliant - and I truly hope he is - but to make the statement you made without anything to back it up is purely nonsense. Funny how MP is getting the benefit of the doubt from people on here whereas Puel never got that same treatment. -
How completely underwhelming - the club has dropped a b*****k here in my opinion. Not sure how any on the shortlist are better than we had - and certainly not the 'names' that would encourage want-aways to stay. Obviously they could pull a rabbit from a hat - but without the players at his disposal he will be on a hiding to nothing. Our current squad is not good enough for top 6/7 and is a mid-table quality side. No manager is going to change that reality.
