  1. Cheers Hypo, that's more like it... ...Seriously though, I feel it is an interesting parallel to draw; both countries' nuclear capabilities and treatment of citizens. Do I think North Korea should implement systemic imprisonment and supression of its own people? No of course not. Do I think the USA should either? No, no I don't. Do I think North Korea should have The Bomb? No, of course not. Do I think the USA should have The Bomb? No, no I don't either. I believe in complete nuclear disarmament without prejudice. I believe in freedom of action, movement, speech and ownership. I believe that a bully should never be allowed to win - be they the little g!t with the sh!tty stick or the biggest bully with the thickest fists.
  2. Hey, I wasn't saying US's labour camps were any WORSE than DPR's, but they DO exist (and contain a higher proportion of the country's 'incarcerated labour' than the North Korean, FWI). That was the only point I was making. Prison/labour camp; it's all semantics if the legitimacy of ones incarceration is in question, surely? I used a cheap n quick wiki link as I didn't feel the need to push it any further as the information regarding the immoral and illegal aspects of the US penal system are easy to find both online and, yes, in books as well.
  3. Really? That is exactly what I thought the US does have!? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incarceration_in_the_United_States
  4. ^This. Although I don't mind nicking a bit of a religion for a laugh, like Christmas and that; socially I do not want the 'stigma' of being married.
  5. There's a pleasant surprise... ...Despite the argumentive prose, the two post above see Turks and FC, seemingly, in total agreement! To wit; reduced regular ticket pricing would require a cultural change beyond any one club, but alas a cultural change isn't on the cards anytime soon. It's also a bit like the Catch22 in regards to public transport - if more people used it, it would be cheaper, but it can only get cheaper if more people use it. And so on.
  6. Me likey.
  7. At last we are getting some crosses in. Was beginning to think they were banned under the new system.
  8. Something like that. Its a farce really; as I am sure ex footballers and ex bankers both have terrible taste, all peach marble and (possibly not working) gold taps.
  9. Perhaps if the Echo were to run an exclusive 'before' and 'after' photo-set of Frannie's house; then we could see how much it was 'trashed' or whether in fact the renovations were 'an improvement'. Purely aesthetically, like. That should clear up the whole mess.
  10. Ah yes. More the sort of accent of someone who was educated in England and spent most of their working life in Switzerland, no?
  11. ...found it! Makes interesting reading. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20793698
  12. There was a great BBC sport article about the transfer league table before and after January - both the top team and the bottom placed team at Christmas spend less, and those immediately below or above spend more. I've described that terribly, sorry, it was a great article honest. Hang on, I'll find it...
  13. Yes. Although some idiot would ruin it by shouting out after 3 minutes. Tch!
  14. Whether right or wrong, MP has been studying videos and stats from saints for weeks. This does not mean he has been watching YouTube FFS. Saints have one of the most sophisticated systems for recording player stats and comparing to video of any sports team in the world. I would imagine MP is using this data. This use of video/stats is also touted as one of MPs 'specialities'.
  15. Interesting you choose Man City as an example (and not say Chelsea or Liverpool, which would have been correct). Man City's work with the fans and the community has been exemplary and they are building a fantastic atmosphere up there as well as winning the league. If we were to become the Man City of the south, I would welcome it. In fact, its a great analogy. Look what happen after Hughes (incredibly popular young English manager who seemed too be on the right track)...
  16. Good post. We need to judge for ourselves, not take what posters on TSW think. One poster on here will tell you that NA got the boot because he left out GR for away games and then another will tell you that now NA is gone, RL will be left out of away games. When both instances have been true all season. Often to universal puzzlement. Pwersonally, I very much doubt that NC has ever 'picked the team' in the same way Albert Escher didn't dig the tunnel. It's possibke, for whatever reasons, NC has more faith in MP, so will let him do what he has been employed to do.
  17. Employ a swarthy young manager who looks good in a tight-knit v-neck jumper?
  18. The Sheriff of Murphy? Really?
  19. I met NC very briefly in the MC Suite. I asked one question: "What first attracted you to the billionaire Markus Liebherr?" He smiled, although I am pretty sure he didn't get the Mrs Merton reference, and said, "Alfred Escher."
  20. Brilliant. And backed the project. I will tout it about tomorrow too. Love it.
  21. When I got told the news - via a desperate phone call from my best friend - I was in shock. Outraged. Disgusted even. Wondering what the hell was happening. I felt like I was (metaphorically) suddenly 2-0 down and playing lousy. After reading all the negative comments and the odd ray of sense and positivity I now feel like its a 2-2 away draw against the champions of Europe. (Purposely perverse analogy). Football's a funny old game and us fans are fickle. Get behind the (new) manager FFS. Welcome to Southampton Mauricio; I wish you all the best. UTS
  22. Calm down. No need for all this argy-bargy... However, I was slightly taken aback when someone called him a dirty cheat, I presume in reference to the foul on Michael Owen in the world cup? You know, the one when Owen clearly dived?
  23. Apparently he speaks 'Football.'
  24. Actually, yes, that would be better.
