And there's the two ends of the spectrum right there. Not saying either of you are right or wrong, I don't know, just contrasting attitudes.

If JWP continues to impress, we could be getting offers! Which we must decline, right?
-
If we're having an announcement sweepstake, I choose 10pm. It seems to be our preferred release of information slot.

Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day

Calling Tractorsaint to the main board: KEAN MAY EXIT JUVE OVER TRACTORS Moise Kean could leave Juventus due to a dispute over some tractors, according to his father. The 17-year-old made his full debut for Juve last season and became the first player born after the millennium to play a competitive fixture in Europe's top five leagues. His rise has made him a reported transfer target of a host of Premier League clubs, and his dad, Biorou, says the teenager may leave the Serie A champions because the club have failed to deliver him a fleet of tractors. He told Tuttosport: "Juventus offered a contract of €700,000-a-year, which was fine, but the problem is they had also promised me some tractors for my agricultural business in the Ivory Coast, but now they say there is no budget for them. "I own several hectares of land in the Ivory Coast which I would like to cultivate with rice and corn. I'm an agronomist. I asked for agricultural materials and they told me "no problem". However, the other day, Juve's lawyer contacted me to tell me that the contract offer had been revoked because my requests were out of their means." -
So, getting back to the subject, what time are we expecting smoke signals above the Vatican? Appointment imminent?

Nearly midnight, Wake me if there is an announcement, but now I am going to hit the sack and think of our new manager, Lucy Pinder. Nite all.

Get the deal done, Les. Pellegrino will be keen to go up against Benitez and Pochiettino. A motivated manager is a hungry manager.

The way round that is to give him a wage in keeping with our wage structure and then a signing on fee paid to the player upfront. Our existing squad know he's on the same wage as them. -

Hey, I don't know whether AR10 is ITK or a complete phoney, but let's not insult him. He may have some insider info sometime that we might like to hear. Every time anyone shares anything someone shouts SOURCE. I'd rather hear someone's perspective than they be shouted down.

Love the bit about him being a 'shapeshifter'. Get him in ... and play 'Lola's Theme' before every home game. Sorted!!!!!

Ok, we need volunteers, hands in the air. - one man to wait at Southampton airport - one man at Southampton rail station - one man stationed in the car park at SMS - one man at Staplewood - one man at the Potters Heron

Question withdrawn, after your later comments. We await the smoke signals over the Vatican then.

Are you suggesting interviews have already taken place and he is coming over to be crowned, anointed and have photos taken limp-handshaking Les? I think we are expecting a sequence of shortlisting, interviews, offer and negotiation before the above.

Luis Enrique and Cristiano Ronaldo on the cheap, dream ticket. We finally get our Mane replacement.
-
Told he can go for the right fee, says the SSN report. Now the haggling starts. We value him at £12M. West Brom value him at (insert value).
-
Then let's get on and interview him, before Palace conduct their interviews.

Like the sound of this guy. Send it to Les.reed@southamptonfc.com

They have Lukaku and Hazard ... and we don't.

No, it's MoPe (mow-pay), but if he's no good, he'll be on his moped!

Huh? The fact that Bothroyd chooses Chambers and Mawson over Stephens is only one man's opinion. It's not definitive. I would be selecting Stephens +1.

Ohhh, I wish I could link the quote where it said he was paid in full for the remaining 2 years. Pretty sure it was Jeremy Wilson from the Telegraph too. Yes, I would also expect some paid back if he takes another role. Maybe he is to be paid in full UNTIL he gets another job, and the reporter put it across as paid in advance. £6M as a figure was definitely quoted.
