Puel was sacked for 'poor entertainment value' rather than 'only 8th'. Many of us said we would rather slip a few places and be entertained. Well, we have slipped a few places....while not being entertained.

That's a very good idea, my friend. Saints current XI vs Saints Div 1 side. Get them all back. Papa Waigo, Hammond, Viafara, the whole lot, if possible. Get Nigel Adkins to manage. What a lift it would give to all the fans, who would raise the roof and inspire the current side too. Next international break?

THIS. Get.Him.In.

Surely a better option for Palace than Carlton flippin Cole (see BBC Gossip Thu). I would also have him back, at least as penalty coach. He may prove himself useful for more than that.
-
Fine, let him to go to Crystal Palace. If he still has something to offer, we take him back in January. Yeah, I know. But he stands as much chance of finding the back of the net as our current crop.
-
That's a shame (Shawcross out) as a penalty was a best chance of a goal scored!!
-
Couple? Ryan Seager, yes, and the second?
-
Interesting. It does have good reviews online, that place. However, if all he had was the polystyrene cartons then he's going to have gut rot tomorrow, so I agree he's unlikely to be involved. Oh and by the way, Weeke is more West Winchester. Kingsworthy is north. I am in the south.

He's a dotard, then - if only we knew what that meant. While we reach for our extreme dictionaries, we get nuked.

I see what you did there, Elton.

So Trump threatens to remove North Korea from the face of the earth, and no one comments. We are no longer shocked at his rhetoric?
-
Sure, let's go with that. What could go wrong? I like the sound of 3-4-3, we're not expected to win. Let's get hung as a sheep rather than a lamb. You never know, we pull this off, find the right formation and team and we are set for a good season. Fortune favours the brave.

Liverpool fan here at work wants him dropped .... already ....immediately.

How can we improve the atmosphere at St Mary's?
the saint in winchester replied to SKD's topic in The Saints
It's true, St Mary's atmosphere is pretty quiet, not exactly a raucous home support atmosphere. Let's get onto this. -
Currently top of the betting for next Prem manager to be given his P45. Maybe these rumours are a factor. He should just look to improve year on year. Agree they aren't yet a top 4 side, and may not be for a while. The problem is the owners may be looking to be top 4 or even top 1 in a shorter timeframe than he can deliver. But I expect he had the conversation at interview stage.

You are so right. Sorry, Bednarek you're fired! ------------- Forster ---------- McCarthy ------------- Cedric-Pied-VVD-Yoshida-Stephens-Hoedt-Bertrand --------- Romeu ------------------ Lemina ------------
-
I would go for ------------- Forster ---------- McCarthy ------------- Cedric-Pied-VVD-Yoshida-Stephens-Bednarek-Bertrand --------- Romeu ------------------ Lemina ------------ Pile some bricks and cement by the goal. Forster and McCarthy have 90 mins to build a wall in front of the goal. Then on 90 mins, they go off and be replaced by Long and Gabbi. Hope to nick it in time added on. Serious suggestion - 0:4.
-
Nah, we're in skins.
-
Hope not. MP is paid to make decisions, not organise a group ballot. Or is he simply there to coach and Less Greed make the decisions?
-
I would go for: -------------Forster ----Yoshida---Stephens---Hodet Cedric-----------------------Bertrand ---------Romeu---Lemina ---------------Davis --------Austin--------Gabbiadini Long on for Austin for final 30 mins.

Are long term contracts the problem?
the saint in winchester replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
And Darren is right. I also think the long contracts could be our undoing. Up until recently, we were recruiting young n hungry players keen to improve themselves via the Saints self-improvement machine with a view to being sold on to a top 7 side. They saw it as fast-tracking to the top, we got 2 years of dedication from players desperate to showcase their talents. Now we appear to be going for a new model. Get a young player in, get them on a long contract, nail their boots to the floor, and say "forget moving for a few years, son, you're ours for the foreseeable." There no incentive to showcase their talents and get the big money move they want. I actually preferred the previous model. Get them on 3 year contracts, then at the end of year 2, offer an extended contract. If they decline, then we sell to highest bidder. -
This season is a write off. Although, we may escape if 3 teams are worse than us. Let's draw a blue line under this, prepare for next season, control the controllables, talk to the man in the mirror ..... and pray for the return of Mr Positivity. Bin the technical coaching, we need the second coming of Nigel Adkins. And Rickie's available, btw. Fire up the DeLorean.

Forster is clearly still playing with an injury. Why McCarthy hasn't been played this season was evident last night when he conceded four. Numerous weak or young gk were signed on short term contracts but none have been trusted to replace FF. I am also confused why we didn't spend and bring in a quality keeper. We can moan all we like about the players, but Reed and his committee recruit the players. Pellegrino (like Puel and Koeman before him) is the Head Coach. MP wasn't allowed to bring in his coaching team either. We are still using the legacy team I really think we have an issue with the players brought in and still here and we have a huge problem with the coaching. Quality of players and quality of coaching together. Where does it end? Removing MP won't solve it.

This. Can someone jot down the key points so we can review, analyse, dessiminate and rubbish? thanks.

4-0. And (name) said they wanted to get back to winning ways tonight!!!
