  1. We have to attack, so we have to score goals. Why not? And the answer is that we have a set of blunt tools. Doesn't matter who the manager is with our strikers. However, I do support your argument that we do need a manager who is prepared to attack.
  2. LOL, thought you were recommending a mass suicide for the TV cameras. You mean DYE something?
  3. That would be my view too. Sorry, NTA, if you think its 'an interesting read'. IMHO it's a turgid read. All talk about mood and positivity and moving forward. He talks about negativity over the last six months but I couldn't decide if he meant from the sacking of Puel, or from the sulk of VVD. Only one thing is clear though - MP will be staying, no matter what, to the end of this season.
  4. Can I take this opportunity to recommend Winchester to your client...or client of your client. Good schools, would say expensive housing, but on a footballer's wage, they won't be an issue. (Note to self: research: does Theo have 2 kids?)
  5. McCarthy played well yesterday. I was anxious before the game, as those who have seen him play for the "reserves" have reported back that he makes errors. But he looked good yesterday. Nothing too difficult to save, true, but he got himself in the right places. I'd like to see him retain his place, but maybe MP was thinking 2 games to play in 4 days allowed him to give both keepers a game. I have no insight on what MP is thinking, just wondering. And on whether FF could move on, again I don't know, but a couple of weeks ago on Talksport someone was seriously suggesting FF should go to the World Cup as England's #1 keeper. Joe Hart hasn't been great and that caller didn't think Pickford, Butland et al were up to it, and he was serious that Forster should be the main man. So.... some do rate Forster. Don't think it would be impossible to sell Forster. They don't see what we see. And finally, some suggest that KD coming in as coach may be a factor in McC getting a game? I don't know. I have often wondered why we have a specialist gk coach when SKD is in the building. Surely he can be the GK coach and we let whatsisname pursue his career elsewhere?
  6. Nooo, we are giving away our seedlings! Stay here and prove yourself, Willo.
  7. Exactly. I don't get this 'hold back our best players for the game after next' nonsense. One game at a time. Try to win the next game, then worry about the one after that.
  8. I hadn't previously. I read that article yesterday. Heterosexual, homosexual, Asexual, Pansexual ... now demi-sexual. For every lid, there's a pan. Sorry, label. I am one of the five.
  9. Agree with ToonSaint. Hopefully an offer of £20M to secure him, and a £10M signing on payment to TW as sweetener for accepting a wage within our structure.
  10. Haha, I now have a vision of the Catherine Tate 'Nan' character as our new manager! I don't know how to add a picture or I would do it!
  11. I would have had a ray of confidence with the way ManYoo are fluffin their lines and Mourinho going potty ....but the body language of our boys against Totters indicates they won't even try any more. 3 or 4 nil to the Reds.
  12. Don't take Pamplemouse as representative, please, TID. You keep posting the nuggets, please. Some of us don't care who or what your source is, even if it's the stray cat at St Mary's.
  13. We can always hope we get a call from an agency tomorrow offering us £300k ... a year ....would be a dream.
  14. Oh dear, that was embarrassing. Not sure replacing the manager is our only problem, but it is one fix that needs to take place. Need a manager that has gravitas. Struggling to think who we could get. Much as I love the idea of Fonseca ... can we try another manager that hasn't managed here? O'Neill/Keane combo? Or Strachan back? Current players not playing for the manager? Need a disciplinarian.
  15. You haven't factored in the wages for Mik and Walcott. There wouldn't be much left. However, I do agree with you, especially on Walcott and Dembele. I would do the deal with Celtic quickly before they reach agreement with Brighton. £25M offered and accepted, please, but taken off the market immediately, player sold.
  16. And this too. Give me a choice of Pellegrino or (name). Then I want to hear their manifestos, how they would get the best of what we have, and who they would like to bring in. Can't just answer "Pellegrino - in or out" unless it's really "Pellegrino or no manager at all."
  17. This. We ARE creating chances but don't take them. Disappointing as the football has been, I am not sure changing the manager alone would resolve. After the Brexit debacle, I would like to know other candidates in the frame before deciding.
  18. Looking like FdB and Bergkamp partnership. Lovely sheckshy dutch football.
  19. If we need to generate funds to finance the needed areas to strengthen, then VVD would be the one to release. We also have other options for CB so it wouldn't weaken it particularly. (yeah yeah, no one else is as good as VVD and all that ..) Only if we don't need to sell would I want to keep him. But even then, there is a bad apple in the barrel question.
  20. I think that was the very problem. It was widely expected that Puel would be going yet the club (seemed to) delay the firing. Very likely they were sifting through candidates (or constantly phoning Tuchel) before releasing Puel.
  21. According to Sky sources, Koeman NOT interested. Whether that is a negotiating stance of "tempt me, Swansea, make it worth my while" we will see.
  22. "....popular with the players and staff..." What are we to think?
  23. A pint of John Smiths?
  24. Get her in.
