  1. If we need to generate funds to finance the needed areas to strengthen, then VVD would be the one to release. We also have other options for CB so it wouldn't weaken it particularly. (yeah yeah, no one else is as good as VVD and all that ..) Only if we don't need to sell would I want to keep him. But even then, there is a bad apple in the barrel question.
  2. I think that was the very problem. It was widely expected that Puel would be going yet the club (seemed to) delay the firing. Very likely they were sifting through candidates (or constantly phoning Tuchel) before releasing Puel.
  3. According to Sky sources, Koeman NOT interested. Whether that is a negotiating stance of "tempt me, Swansea, make it worth my while" we will see.
  4. "....popular with the players and staff..." What are we to think?
  5. A pint of John Smiths?
  6. Get her in.
  7. Now I see Supersaint posted this previously.
  8. Maybe a statement of the obvious, but a win for them would put them a cavernous 6 points ahead of us. We would be cast adrift with all the relegation candidates for the next 5 months. So, yeah, a must win game.
  9. 3. Trust that we have better players than many of the other teams near the bottom and will get enough points to be comfortable without a great deal of change More hope we can garner (somehow) more points than 3 other sides. We have just become accustomed to being 7th-10th at all times, and when we are lower than that, we call for the manager's head. We may just have to accept this is a 'slippage' year to find our real place in the league. We have to accept we may not be 'best of the rest' anymore. We can't afford to chop and change the manager every year with compensation paid out.
  10. This. Sell to highest bidder. Buy Walcott.
  11. Any offer over £70M, especially from City, take it.
  12. I googled this a few hours ago, and there is no confirmation or indication - even from the Coventry Advertiser which writes an article every time he sneezes. You'll understand fans need evidence, not just an instruction to "just believe what I am telling you".
  13. This. Entirely this. Thanks for the dedicated service, Virgil, in previous seasons, but as you have made it clear you see your future elsewhere, you can go and Jack Stephens become a regular.
  14. Agree on the first part, and I think Harry Lewis is to be the #3.
  15. I'll second that emotion.
  16. Or is it? Liverpool fan in the office says scouse view of Mane has dipped now Salah is flavour of the month. They now see Salah as the main man and will sell either Coutinho or Mane in January. I said we would give them their money back on him, no more than that.
  17. Good to know he's "controlling the controllables" and is soon reciting The Man in the Glass again"!!!
  18. Hey, Joyce Sims is back. He's 'come into our life' again! Sorry, 80s dance music.
  19. Not transfer window but it would take me ages to find the thread about our exes, so here : Nigel Adkins has moved closer to becoming the new Hull boss after claiming he is ready to return to management with the Championship club. (HULL DAILY MAIL)
  20. The player SAYS the referee apologised for making an error. If so, the referee will notify the FA of his mistake and maybe the yellow will be rescinded. That would be fair. However, we only have Smith's word for it ....unless you have a statement from Jon Moss himself that we can review.
  21. Adam Smith says ..... He may have transliterated Moss' comments. No penalty.
  22. Exactly. He saw Boufal's outstretched leg and dived over it in a ridiculously exaggerated manner (as above still). The ref called it correctly, video evidence proves that. Adam Smith should consider himself fortunate the ref punished him with a yellow in the game, as an appeal panel this morning would have given him a 3 match ban if the ref had missed it!!!
  23. He has! Today I say Swansea, West Ham and Palace. Weekly updates available.
  24. Agree. Forster seems to be turning it around, but we do need a second quality keeper to compete with him.
  25. Should have saved the Fraser one that was a goal, but generally he played well today, as he did vs City.
