Can you settle an argument for me please?
swannymere replied to bridge too far's topic in Motoring Forum
I think it's down to the discretion of the MOT tester and/or policeman if you get pulled over. I know they pull motorbikes for loud exhausts but don't do them for the noise but for the fact it hasn't got an 'e' stamp. -
Churchill had a lisp, irritating bastard.

Put them on eBay with the fact they were at the Stone Roses gig, some muppet will pay over the odds. Did anyone who saw them in their prime see them? and what did they think?

Due to the current financial climate and the possibility that the government won't be able to meet its pension obligations, shouldn't us fatties be congratulated for trying our utmost to not reach pension age? What uses more cash, the treatment of diabetes and other diseases related to diet or the provision of a pension and care for 20-30 years?

Red interior's are great with certain colours, we're a bit boring and play it safe with cream or black when it comes to leather interior's in this country.

Who Is The Worst Company you Have Had The Misfortune To Have To Deal With
swannymere replied to Gemmel's topic in The Lounge
Without a doubt the now defunct Setanta, wouldn't let you cancel, despite letters from solicitors and various promises just continued to try an collect monthly payments. -
Watched the new Armando Iannucci written VEEP on Sky Atlantic last night, very good but can't help feeling it would have been better based in Britain.

Divide the amount of money spent by the number of licence fee payers who watched or listened to anything from Hackney and it's not alot. The BBC covers alot of events i don't care about like F1 but i know others like it, be a bit boring if we all liked the same thing. Stop being a miserable old fart and go back to R2

So by that logic once a band has played in the UK, there's no point them playing here again? By similar logic, the Navy have one submarine, what's the point in having any more?

Isle of Wight Festival - Oops - Anyone stuck?
swannymere replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Lounge
It's just stupid, they should be forced to park on the mainland and the festival should put on buses. -
If you're handy with tools you could dismantle the SatNav and put an aftermarket battery in, i bought one from the US for about £12 including postage and downloaded instructions from the 'web on how to disassemble, install the battery and then rebuild the SatNav. I've also got a SatNav app for my iPhone which is pretty good and free!

Either the Mirror or the Mail are reporting that Norwich are in for Butland and that we've had an improved offer turned down, one of them has also stated we're in for the Celtic keeper that was at Newcastle. Do you think they copy everything from various forums?

I sold some motorcycle bodywork to somebody from Singapore last October, they paid over £600 via bank transfer immediately and were going to arrange pickup by courier, it's never been picked up! He emails every other month promising to organise collection but nothing ever happens.

White was cool 2 years ago apparently (always looked chavvy to me!) and is definitely losing its coolness by the minute. The new colour of the moment for cars is a bronze/dark brown colour as seen on loads of cars being tested by the various car magazines Range Rover, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Ferrari and even Renault seem to be very keen.

Unfortunately the last series of The Closer, probably the best cop show (aside from Southlands) on TV. Burn Notice starts next month and is easily the most underrated programme on TV whilst Matthew Perry has a new show called Go On which had a great review in the Independent this week, not sure when its airing though.

Apparently Reni walked before the Amsterdam gig earlier in the week, gig went ahead so hopefully won't affect the tour. Fingers crossed for those of you with tickets. Reni Walks

Reni walked from the gig in Amsterdam earlier in the week followed by Ian Brown calling him a C**t onstage, hopefully all of you with tickets will still get to see them. Fingers crossed. Reni Walks

I don't think we're in a position to offer anybody £50k a week, with all the new FFP rules coming in we need to be cautious with the wage structure.
