  1. Thanks! Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
  2. LOL. Worth repeating
  3. Wow PEH ain't MEH any more!
  4. Yes! That makes up for missing the sitter earlier. Looks like MH got the subs exactly right?
  5. Nice one MH. Changed it up at 54 mins and Mo and Danny are looking lively! We look like we might actually score a goal?
  6. Oh dear. Lemina is making mistakes already He tends to get worse when he starts like this. Woah - Great save from McCarthy
  7. Come on Saints! Ings to come on as sub and score?
  8. I thought Lemina was really poor from the start. Gave the ball directly to BM several times in mid-field, gave away free kicks, walked around the pitch failing to track back, shoulders slumped, looking like someone who didn't want to be there. Seems like a confidence player even more than most - either makes a couple of mistakes and becomes shocking, or [once in a blue moon] starts well and gets better with each touch to be a real match winner. PEH was poor - plenty of endeavour but little product. Was impressed with Gabbi, and Armstrong when he linked with him. Bednarak was anonymous while Hoedt did good and bad, and and Austen was poor. Vestergaard looked ok and won all his headers as expected. Personally I though ME, JS, JWP and Maya all looked good when they came on, and energy levels and creativity improved for the last 15 mins. Not sure that was worth 6 hours of holiday-hell traffic though... I thought the german fans were the most entertaining thing at the match. Looked more like 300 than 800, but they all had a good time! ATEOTD it's only a meaningless friendly, so I'm still hoping we will beat Burnley with some attractive attacking football and one or two sublime goals next weekend. Up the Saints
  9. Well it's not exactly professional media management, is it? As OP says it smacks of trying to bury the news, or some kind of panicked PR. Look at all the manager announcements that have happened this week, and their timing within the news cycle.
  10. Well said that man.
  11. ??? Not on M+ package apparently.
  12. Wow. Lost my stream just as we seemed to score and didn't get it back until after the final whistle. Not sure if that made it more or less stressful! What a result. Suddenly the world is a better place, and I'm looking forward to Sunday McCarthy was definitely MOM - and of the season and I loved seeing the emotion of a welshman who outdid the snidey swans. Ugly performance for the most part, but exactly what was needed. Almost shed a tear watching those celebrations.
  13. Rory Delap is not the only player who could throw it into the box - it's more common than ever.
  14. People need to stop blaming players for that and accept we got a point. I feel as cheated as anybody else since Everton were dross and deserved 0 points. A fluke deflection from a defender in the 6th minute of extra time Just like before we need to win on Tuesday, but at least we are 17th. Fingers crossed City don't screw up tomorrow, and lets hope the players can recover from that and be ready to go out and beat Swansea. TBF that was a great goal - well done Cedric and Nathan!
  15. What a save by McCarthy!!!! Legend
  16. Woooohooooop! Tadic does it again
  17. "Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi have combined beautifully for Arsenal to be joint top of the outfield errors that lead to goals chart. Alongside Southampton (top work Wesley Hoedt and Cédric Soares!), they have committed nine howlers that have led to the opposition scoring. " https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/apr/27/the-premier-league-teams-ineptitude-index-2017-18
  18. "Nine teams have been two goals up at some stage in the match, only to lose or draw. Take a bow Liverpool, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, who have all managed it twice." "Half the sides in the league are giving the ball away over 50% of the time from goal-kicks. Burnley are worst, with their keepers passing to a team-mate just 40.7% of the time (Southampton, West Ham, Everton and Palace round out the five worst)." Own goals: "Only Southampton, Everton, Liverpool, West Ham and Arsenal have not conceded any. " "Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi have combined beautifully for Arsenal to be joint top of the outfield errors that lead to goals chart. Alongside Southampton (top work Wesley Hoedt and Cédric Soares!), they have committed nine howlers that have led to the opposition scoring." "We will award one penalty point for each yellow card given to a club’s player for dissent, with Manchester City leading on 12 (Arsenal and Southampton are not far behind on 11). " https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/apr/27/the-premier-league-teams-ineptitude-index-2017-18
  19. Well said. Lemina was puzzling - absolute gash in 1st half, but put in some decent tackles and one or two nice passes 2nd half. The Morata goal unfortunately put the game to bed.
  20. Getting excited now! Off to watch a friend start the London marathon, then back home and off to Wembley As the FA logo on the ticket says - "Nothing is Certain"
  21. Here's another article, credited to a different writer, based on exactly the same interview: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/apr/20/pierre-emile-hojbjerg-bayern-southampton-chelsea-fa-cup-semi-final-guardiola Bizarre!
  22. This is poor Every time we have possession Chelsea press us back and it's all sideways and backwards passes.
  23. Thanks for the tip-off
  24. So if we get to the final it will have been spoilt for you?
