I wasn't lauding it over them either, just saying that if you don't go don't slag of those that did for being ****ed off. Because had you gone you might feel the same. Pretty simple to work out really. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Only mentioned it a handful of times around Europe when people like yourself where squinnying like first school kids at Xmas. And I resent anyone that travels and doesn't get behind the team to be honest. Because we're there to support them, not to update Facebook Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

People on here decide what they want to decide, and most of them don't go to games. I've travelled to all three games, have spent in the region of £2k+ and used a substantial amount of my holiday (as well as p*ssed off the missus). During every single game i've sung my heart out during the matches, even despite the number of tourists that were happy to stand around in silence at the San Siro taking selfies. At the end of the game on Thursday i booed, and i gave them abuse too. Because quite frankly the whole European away campaign hasn't been good enough. I partly blame Puel's rotation for that, i partly blame the board not singing a striker for that, but i mainly blame the players on the pitch. Because during EACH of those games we should've won. Now if you're going to sit infront of your TV and tell us that've made the effort what to do you can do one. Why don't you, instead of complaining at the fans that spend so much money and time, dip into your pockets and make the trip. Because there wasn't a SINGLE game in our European tour you couldn't have got tickets for, so you had no excuse not to travel. Maybe if you did you'd understand why we booed, and you might even have joined in yourselves.

Oh training? Do you play football? I don't think you've ever mentioned that it's a real revelation that...

Family friendly pub near Crystal Palace

[emoji23] Yeah those scary ultras will have been spending Black Friday buying more north face jackets and practicing looking frightening in front of their mums mirror to get just the right "ultra" face, before retiring to their bedrooms to put the last finishing touches to their macaroni and glue "tifo". It's a tough life playing Saturday fancy dress in Croydon [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I'm going to guess the laughter is because it's Palace, one of the most family run clubs possible and about as threatening as kitten in a soft play area. -
Anyone with half a brain can see we can't compete with the big boys in the league, last season was a freak season which we benefited from. If anyone thinks that another Leicester is going to happen in the next 20 years they're seriously deluded. Our option is the cups, in the same way that Leicester are resting players for the champions league we should be doing the same for Europa. In my opinion we can get far if we want, so let's go for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Few points from yesterdays game from my perspective. We looked incredibly solid at the back, VVD is far too good for us and Fonte is coming back to form. Also the return of Cedric has improved us at right back and Romeu is an utter beast of a player in the middle (though i'm worried he's playing too much). The midfield looked good, Hojbjerg is a great signing and Boufal looks impressive already, although he needs to learn the game here a bit more and not try and do everything himself. Upfront though we're sadly toothless and need a new striker in Jan if we are to do anything. Austin will be a streaky player but take him out and i just can't see where goals come from to be honest. Liverpool, and this bit is through gritted teeth, look really good this season. Mane has been an excellent addition for them and i have to say i was really impressed by Can yesterday. He seemed to be involved in everything Liverpool did and gave an extra bit of bite they've often seemed lacking to me. One last point that needs making is what the hell has happened to Liverpool's support? It was absolutely bloody woeful yesterday and i don't think i've ever seen so many tourists in an away end in my life. At £20 a ticket and on a saturday at 3pm i expected them to make a racket but instead there was a weird attempt to sing "oh when the saints" (why the hell other clubs do this at St Mary's i will never, ever understand. It's like us singing you'll never walk alone at Anfield) and a couple of lacklustre "liverpool's" a that was it. I probably shouldn't be massively surprised given that the train down from London was packed with people in Liverpool shirts but the only Scouse accent i heard was the woman working the drinks trolley.

As far as i can tell "Plan B" seems to be football fans code for hoofing the ball forward to a big striker or centre back that's been thrown up front for the last 20 mins of a game. The fact so many call for a "Plan B" shows how tactically naive they are, over the course of most games we (and most other premier league sides) play numerous versions of formations, with the system changing based on possession, time left, the need to press and substitutions. Personally i'd say it's been a long time (Adkins probably) since we've played with one significant "Plan", the only obvious thing we do, have done and will continue to do, is keep as much possession as possible as it means the players don't get as tired as quickly. Also i'd say generally if i hear someone spouting the line "we have no plan b" i tend to think they know very little about football and generally are unlikely to have played the game to any significant level.

Liverpool sing about Manchester United most games and Manchester United sing about Liverpool most games, Chelsea sung about Spurs most of the time against us, West Ham about Millwall and Spurs, Spurs about Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham, Birmingham about Villa (and vice versa), Newcastle DO sing about Sunderland (peter reid has a f*cking monkey's heid for one) and Celtic are always singing about Rangers (and again vice versa). Singing about your rivals is about as normal a thing in football as there is and i've never got why a section of our support is so anti it. Hell in my entire 30+ years of going we've ALWAYS sung about them. It defines us as much as most other things, plus you know what? I really f*cking hate those c*nts and want to rub their noses in the fact we're playing in Europe against Milan whilst they languish at the bottom end of the football league. Also anyone that went to THAT game at theirs will never tire of singing WTFILN, because it's pure, sweet bitter revenge for all the crap they gave us that day and how our players collapsed and give in. I do often wonder though if those that dislike it are our "non Southampton" born support, because if you were born in the city, grew up there and had your roots from there you'd fully understand why their placement in the league is irrelevant. To be honest if they went out of business as a football club i'd still hate that cesspool of a city and it's deluded, violent, arrogant inhabitants. Also in terms of the game itself i thought we were actually pretty quiet for most of the first half, it's almost like people came to life with about 10 minutes to go before the end of the first half and suddenly realised we needed to get behind the lads.

To be fair that's probably the best answer i've heard from anyone. A general election would invariably be about a mandate to ratify the vote and trigger article 50, the parties could all make a pre election commitment that if the outcome was in either favour then the first item of business in a new party would be doing that and you'd then end up with the parliamentary mandate that was needed to take this forward.
-
Choose not to believe if you want but they are DEFINITELY complaining about it, and in particular calling out the Chapel. I'm sure you're taking the p*ss but you called out two of my favourite aways in the lower leagues there (ok Cov was empty but was a great p*ss up and the steeply banked Ricoh made for a great atmosphere). In fact in general i preferred the away days in the lower leagues to the prem. Way more atmosphere in the grounds, generally cheaper (though obviously now that's changed) and was fun taking over grounds in numbers too.
-
Actually it wasn't prissy it was more that you seemed to be projecting, also i'd hazard a guess that the "there's no rules on how to support" brigade are probably the same that put off a lot who'd like to make noise. It's simple psychology really if a crowd is accepting of those around them they're more likely to participate in that behaviour, if those around them are snooty or "too cool for school" like you come across then it'll impact as well.
-
What's actually wrong with fans creating an atmosphere? I mean why would feel the need to belittle and mock? Are you somehow better than others? And do you not think that you are actually the one coming across as more superior than others, patronising and a bit rude?
-
So you don't believe that the players would notice that the chapel is a morgue? Or do you think they don't care? Because if it's the first then you must be assuming they're deaf since terrible doesn't even come close to describing what passes for atmosphere there. Also i don't buy into the "it's always been that way" argument. It wasn't in the Championship or League one, maybe it wasn't a constant cauldron of noise but it was definitely louder than it is now, which isn't exactly hard. And if you think they don't care then why would players come out constantly mentioning it (see Hojbjerg's article on the club site today in reference to the Inter game). On a totally personal perspective it annoys the hell out of me that people are willing to make so many excuses instead of just doing something about it. I mean why are you SO anti creating an atmosphere Chapel? Do you think you're above it? Are you embarrassed? Is that you don't want to be the only ones? Honestly why? I'd love to know what the reason is because it really confuses me.
-
I find it funny how many on here simply either refuse to acknowledge it's true and bury their heads in the sand (hint it is true), blame another area of the ground/group of fans entirely, or say "i'm not joining in with that because of x reason". What i don't see is people going, "yeah actually it is a bit sh*t, what we should do is start our own songs so we don't have to join in with the ones we don't like". Mind you it often seems that way that we have some sanctimonious *****s in our support that would rather slag off others than do something about it, and lets not lie it's absolutely true.
-
Because it came out of the mouth of two of our most senior players, it's an issue for the whole team though and one that the club are bothered about too but don't know how to resolve.
-
Personally I'd like to see puel try Bertrand at right back and McQueen left back, other than that keep the team the same as others have said. I've personally never rated Martina but at the moment he looks shot from all the games and needs a break. As far as I'm concerned this and the league cup should be our top priorities this season. Let's be honest we're not going down and unlikely to qualify for Europe in the league so let's make a proper go of these two competitions Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Couple of things here about the supports, Chelsea where loud but also has a bus load of tourists with them, one of whom spent the whole first half filming the game (and himself) on his iPad. As for our support something needs to be done about the lack of noise from the chapel. Ok the northam wasn't at it's best yesterday but the chapel is actually a joke and I know for a fact that the players aren't happy about how silent it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
