  1. Not Saints. But Lambert's goal for England against Scotland was pretty good.
  2. Lallana stepping up to the mark as captain and leading by example, exemplified by Jones yellow card for tackling him in the dying minutes of the game. Sounded superb.
  3. I'd settle for second in the Premier League this season.
  4. Sounded as if Lallana and Boruc were very good today. Boruc the new Niemi?
  5. Sounded as if Lallana and Boruc were very goo today. Boruc the new Niemi?
  6. I thought Rickie did well, considering the poor service and team of millionaire journeymen behind him. A good practice game to get him match fit for Saints.
  7. I don't hold it against you. I'm just pleased that things turned out better for Rickie fans than many (not just here) expected.
  8. Smirking Saint and Golden Balls said he wouldn't even play tonight. They got that wrong then.
  9. In the interview with Danny Fox after the game he pointed out the inconsistency of Lallana's penalty not being given, compared to that harsh one last season (can't remember which game) which was given against Fox. It all adds a random element to football, which detracts from the skill you need to win games.
  10. I screamed so loud I reckon my neighbours thought I had scored!
  11. Feeling emotional. Good luck Rickie.
  12. Kevin Doyle? HCDAJFU If we're not spending much money for another striker, that is
  13. Good interview with Rickie on the OS after the Schalke game. Looking relaxed and enjoying himself. Says he's feeling strong and getting fit. Apparently they were put up in the best hotel he's ever stayed in. Nice one Rickie! Looking at the Premier League scoring table last season, if we're going to improve on Rickie as a striker, we've got to buy Van Persie, Suarez, Benteke, Michu or Lukaku.
  14. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Ethiopia and Bath. I went to university in Southampton 1978-1982 and used to watch them occasionally at the Dell when I could afford it. Got hooked and have followed the ups and downs of the club like a soap opera ever since. Live in Exeter now. Have been to St Mary's a few times, but more often go to away league and cup games when I can, for example at Plymouth, Exeter, Swindon, Bristol City, Aston Villa, Birmingham and West Brom.
  15. Much better than the friendly I watched last week. Exeter City v QPR ended 0-0.
  16. Jambo, jambo bwana, Jambo, jambo Wanyama
  17. Let's aim for 5th then. No higher.
  18. Perhaps he's turning into our Torres?
  19. Lambert's playing more as an attacking midfielder now than a striker. The striker is supposed to be Rodriguez. When he's on form.
  20. Phew. Can leave Alpine and Dalek behind for another season (99.5% sure).
  21. Van Persie went 10 games without a goal for Manchester United before 12 April. Maybe the service to strikers isn't as good at United as at Saints, but it does go to show that all strikers have dry patches. Some people rate Van Persie quite highly, despite that. He must be doing something right, because United have won the Premier League this season. I for one would welcome him at Saints, if United wanted to get rid of him.
  22. Why can't they get their own song? Why do they have to sing ours? I can't remember that happening years ago. Anyway, squeaky bum time.
  23. After tonight's thrashing, Messi. He'd do well alongside Lambert.
  24. We got relegated last time by selling our best players and not replacing them. If we are going to sell them, we need to buy better players to replace them, by getting other clubs to pay well over their true value for them. Onwards and upwards!
