  1. I know..we should make an offer to Leeds for Piroe
  2. Substantial rebuild and 7 days to do it. Got to laugh.
  3. They are actually sheep in sheep's clothing
  4. now that would be worth watching to be fair
  5. Celtic target Lyanco 🙂 https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/sport/celtic-target-southampton-defender-lyanco-27599262
  6. Yeah agree. They were all happy enough last season serving up shit football and shit results. Need a rocket up their arse 🙂
  7. Usually in life, the truth lies in between the two extremes. In this case, between cultist fantasists like you and the pessimistic doom mongers. Things are ok but not great. Could be better and could be worse.
  8. Aribo is disappointing. Did well and was well liked at Rangers. Played in a Euro final. You’d think he’d be more than good enough for the champs.
  9. Yeah not quite the same as he has handed in his access pass as you said earlier. If a deal is definitely struck there is no way he plays tomorrow. So I call BS
  10. Sorry but if he is subject to an imminent multi million pound deal there’s no way either side would allow him to play tomorrow. If he gets a season long injury for example, that would scupper the deal. So if he has “left the building” there’s no way he’s playing tomorrow. So that is BS
  11. You say better at “a bit of admin” but I would assume it is that they were more prepared to offer a better financial package
  12. For some of those I assume you’re using the phrase “can play there” in the loosest possible sense.
  13. I do get we have to cut our cloth and all that. But I think with Tella and Che we go up. So selling them is massive (perhaps unnecessary?) risk and for the money we get for them it’s peanuts compared to a return to the prem. Hoping for good replacements if they go but who is going to sell good players this late on in the window (apart from us it seems)
  14. Take all this with a pinch of salt, but Wales Online report that Saints were in for Piroe and Leeds did a better job. Also state that Piroe preferred a move to Saints Wales Online state that Piroe was actually quite keen on a move to Southampton after talks with the Saints, excited to reunite with Russell Martin. But, Leeds did not give up and worked hard to get him. “The level of effort Leeds made to sign him proved to be a key factor in persuading him to move to west Yorkshire, working round the clock with Piroe’s camp this week to thrash out nitty, gritty bits of the deal.”
  15. Leeds had loaned a massive amount of players didn't they? Lucky their owners are backing them with some dough or they would be screwed
  16. I think loan deals are always a big part of teams strategies when relegated from the PL. I know there needs to be a balance, but you don't want to be stuck with a load of championship players on long contracts if you find yourself promoted back to the PL?
  17. Leeds apparently in advanced talks for Paintsil. Deal to be worth around £8.5m
  18. ...don't have to be Nostradamus to predict the rest of your sentence?
  19. I confess to never having heard of him. Is he any good?
  20. To be fair, I think we would have kept Che but what chance do we have when his middle name is Everton?
  21. He won't sign a new contract. We can take the £15m now and invest in a new striker or we can run his contract down and keep him for the season. Problems with 1st option: Need to replace the goals he would likely score for us this season. Need 20 - 25 goals from a new striker. Get that wrong and it would likely be the difference between getting promoted or not Problems with 2nd option: If we do not get promoted, he walks for free and we have to get a new striker minus the £15m we could have used for that purchase. Also, we run the risk of a pissed off player who doesn't settle and give his all for us (think that wouldn't be the case with Che as he is an honest lad) As he won't sign a new contract, I think the club has to sell in order to protect a £15m investment. Everything depends on the quality of replacement (obvious signing is Piroe i think)
  22. 🙂 fair play
  23. always up for an insane signing. It's been the downfall of many a saintsweb poster
  24. Apart from the old firm, playing in the Scottish leagues is probably similar to playing San Marino every week
  25. Come on what chance has he got against the mighty che 😀 He did score in scotlands 6-0 win v San Marino I see 💪
