Very disappointing that our two best players (on form) are out/benched. Could spell trouble for us. Going forward we still look dangerous but we will miss the link up between Lambert and Rodriguez and we suddenly look very weak at the back. Keep everything crossed for a positive result

I'd hardly describe the UEFA Cup/Europa League as a noddy cup. This isn't the Intertoto we're talking about here. In short, it would be amazing if we got into Europe providing Nicola/Liebherrs would provide the funding to sufficiently bolster the squad, which I believe they would do. But it's not going to happen is it? We're not top of the fair play league and England aren't in one of the top places are they?

The thing that confuses me is how can an Italian banker with seemingly no previous experience or history in football be so damn good at running a football club? Every decision he has made has been a good one. It's like he's been doing this for decades....?

Agree, for the money they've spent over the last few years they've got a quite horrible squad. They bought so much dross. Was cheering Villa on yesterday as I'd love Stoke to go down. Their performance yesterday was one of the worst I've seen in a long time.

Lambert Rodriguez and Gaston all linking up together is a joy to watch. Gaston should have scored but apart from finishing he played some excellent stuff

Safety was all but confirmed after beating Chelsea, but now it's certain IMO. Excellent performance, even though I missed a lot of the second half. It seemed we were in complete control. Rodriguez is on fire. His, Lamberts and Gaston's link up play was brilliant at times. Yaaaaaaaay

Due to the huge transfer fee some fans clearly were expecting him to be as good as Ronaldo in his first season in the Premier League. He's been disappointing at times and excellent at others. Would be a real shame if he went as he has shown he has a lot of real class and could be a big player for us next season. His performances against Villa, Newcastle and Liverpool at home were especially good. The club won't want to sell him and huge majority of the fan base won't want him sold. So let's hope he stays and continues improving with us.
