Yoshida may be "very average" but he's clearly our best CB at this point. Regardless of what that says about the state of our CBs, it's true.

The result today is secondary. As long as we see a lot of youngsters playing today then we'll be happy. We can't keep persisting with the same old dross who've relegated us this season as they won't even be with us in the Championship. Obafemi, Gallagher, Gunn, Jones, O'Connor, Smallbone and Valery all need to start so they can begin getting some serious experience. This season is now all about next season. We'll have a local Derby to play as well, we had better be f*cking ready.

Tell us more about your US trip. Hotel, beer, ladies etc. You've barely got started, we don't only want to hear about Bradley Wright Wright Wright.

Whilst Hughes isn't doing a good job professionally, attacking him personally is out of order. Some of the abuse he has got on this thread is disgusting but even worse was the chanting and vitriol directed his way yesterday. Quite ashamed to be a Saints fan after some of the stuff heard at Dean Court.

I know it's all doom and gloom on here, understandably so considering we are already down, but one slight positive note is that if we manage to keep hold of Ings for next season I actually think he'll do brilliantly in the Championship. Keep him, Yoshida and Steven Davis and we'll have a decent spine to the side. Many on here are arguing that next season in the Championship will be straight relegation down to League 1 but I don't agree. We can stay up if we keep a couple of our important players.

Great day, and of course they'll come again. Ok next season in the Championship will be another struggle but once we get down to League 1 the big wins should start to return providing we manage it correctly.
-
Pressure is totally off now. An already relegated Saints (ok I know it's not mathematically done yet, but it's done) against currently one of the leagues best teams pushing for Europe. We'll probably win!

Hughes has had an impossible job in many ways. His keeping us up last season was an incredible achievement and he probably should have parted ways with the club then whilst his stock was high. Keeping us up two years on the trot following the two worst managers in our history (except Branfoot) was always going to be a thankless task. I don't care who it is, even Pep wouldn't be able to turn this mess around following the damage Puel and Pellegrino caused. However, trying to sack him now would be silly. Any attempt now by the club to try and survive relegation this season would be dangerous and disruptive. The sooner we accept that we're down the sooner we can build for next season and longer term. Let's say we go all out for survival now and then get relegated on the last day.. imagine the pain not only the fans will suffer but the club too. It's the hope that kills you, eh? We mustn't spend another penny on trying to stay up this season and the players need to go into relaxation mode to avoid serious injuries. Play nice football, keep your fitness high, sure. But we can't go into games trying to win anymore as we need to focus on the long game. It's damage limitation now. Puel (mainly) and then Pellegrino (partly) have utterly destroyed the soul of this club and only a decade or two down in the lower leagues will fix it.

What's more worrying is how much we spent on Vestergaard and Hoedt. They're both really poor. -

Anyone who takes corners with their laces needs shooting. Unfortunately without Prowse Ward-James our corners are woeful. Not sure what to make of that first half. Wolves started better but faded. We've probably had most of the ball but look absolutely toothless with it. -

Bloody hell, there's a thought.

We're actually playing alright. Hoj, Redmond and Cedric going forward well.
-
He touched his back. So I suppose in today's game yes it's a clear penalty. "There's clear contact there" as the modern commentators like to say. Thanks SKD, for being as bad as those pundits who are ruining our game. Contact = foul, honestly ffs

Negatives: we're down Positives: Championship is fun

You're embarrassed by flashing lights?

I think the fivers are still being spent on the rights to publish fixtures, right? Pricey that. Egos can be very expensive.

This West Ham result keeping it very interesting down the bottom, and sucks us right back into the relegation dog fight. Lose tomorrow and it'll be all but curtains with relegation confirmed, but I actually feel we'll beat Brighton and put it off for a while yet.

"We Want Puel Out" ringing out here at Dean Court from the Leicester fans. Bournemouth have been good but not amazing. Leicester have had chances but overall very poor. Foxes fans very angry.
-
Behind the scenes the lads are calling him "Balecott", as in a mix of Bale and Walcott. He's extremely highly regarded and considered to be better than Gareth was when he was Obafemi's age. Gao was looking to cash in last window but has been persuaded by Reed and Wilson to wait until he's older as his sell on value will be far higher.

There used to be a number fans could text when inside the ground if we spotted any other fans slagging off or criticising any Saints players. I wonder if that's still going, as if not it bloody well should be. "Fans" like you really deserve to be banned permanently. You're openly admitting to thinking you have the right to criticise Saints players. You've just made the prosecution's argument for them, you're bang to rights. Fully support every single player in red and white or don't dare to show up to SMS.
