  1. I think the overall thing about Portsmouth at this present time is they're unbeaten so far in the League, and whilst you could argue that their draw at the weekend doesn't technically count as three points what you can't deny is that they were awarded only one point for the draw.
  2. I think the whole burger/pie/pint culture at football is slowly but surely fading away in a very similar effect to the kinds of degrees one could study at certain Universities across the nation whereby people will stop and ask "well is Marine Biology truly a worthwhile subject to commit 4 years or your life to?" Accommodation and tuition are incredibly expensive these days. Thousands of pounds. Yet people moan about paying £3.50 for a pint? £4.50 for a pie? Would you pay more if the pie had peas, for example? You would, wouldn't you. Yet we'll all stand there at half time and debate the merits, or lack thereof, of all manner of subjects at universities. Hypocritical to say the least and reflects very badly on not just the club and its supporters but on the brewers and pie makers too.
  3. With Bolton Wanderers likely to go into administration I think that puts the entire Brighton game into perspective. Hopefully we'll see a reflection of this sad news in the mood at the stadium next week. A happy cheerful atmosphere from the Northam will show a huge amount of disrespect to Bolton and their fans who do not deserve it in the slightest. A minute's silence might be a step too far but perhaps a mention in the program, or a song on 8 minutes (8 as it looks like a "B") would be very appropriate.
  4. I'm certain we'll win but the only question is whether or not we'll pick up the three points. A draw might be a more likely outcome. All depends on whether or not Yoshida starts.
  5. If Austin starts, and that's a big if, then it will be a great shame not to see Gabbiadini upfront alongside Daniel Ings as he surely deserves his chance. His movement causes all sorts of problems whereas Austin's movement is non existent. However Austin totally deserves to start given his goal against Brighton so it will be a great shame to see Gabbi on the team sheet ahead of him. Play them both and drop Ings, or don't play either of them and start Ings, or play one of them and drop Ings, or play either of them alongside Ings, would be my preference.
  6. No look I think whilst this website is an absolutely fascinating tool for us to gauge just how much players that we sold in the past would be worth now in today's market, I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting that this site is going to affect future transfers going forward, and to make the point that it is as some have claimed, is frankly absolutely absurd.
  7. One thing we've got to remember is that Mario Lemina is a top player in the midfield position who doesn't give the ball to opposition players.
  8. Would love to hear this to the tune of Billy Bragg's 'A New England'... Well, there will be a time when the team wins There will be times when the team loses Oh the Southampton team plays today Will you attend the match with your ticket in hand? If you have a pint of alcoholic beverage before the match, Have a glass of water afterwards to avoid a hangover the next day Shane Long is a quick player he'll score a goal today Danny Ings is a striker who'll score a goal today Cedric Soares defends, as does Matty Targett Alex McCarthy our goalkeeper, dear goalkeeper, So yes there will be a day when the team wins and there will come a day when the team loses repeat
  9. Seems Jake had a day to forget. Burton fans saying that was one of the worst substitute performances they've seen and he was lucky not to have gifted Wimbledon at least 2 goals. Hopefully just nerves.
  10. #worldclass
  11. My god you're easily pleased. No wonder you loved Puel.
  12. Well it's clearly both isn't it?
  13. He picked Hoedt over Yoshida. Long over Gabbiadini. (Sorry Mark if either of those were injured today). He took off Ings instead of Long. Hughes did not have a good day today.
  14. We can't defend, we are terribly slow going forward, we have no real attacking threat, we have a manager who can't make decent substitutions or pick the right side, we are so so ****e. Have been since that clown in the opposite dugout was appointed.
  15. When Koeman left the enjoyment ended, the quality disappeared, the "marching on" well and truly stopped.
  16. Good idea OP. Will be a very interesting thread to follow throughout the season, as you say to see if there's any correlation between his reasoning. No need for anyone to get offended by this, it's just a cataloging of information. Those getting upset about it are being far too sensitive.
  17. First half horrible but second half much better. Wish Ings and Elyounoussi had started the game. So many missed chances from headed corners.
  18. Armstrong our best player so far
  19. OP, If I hear the St. Mary's crowd singing a Bob Marley song for one of our players I will die happy. Don't worry about a thing, 'cause Danny Danny Ings, is gonna be alright Singing don't worry about a thing, 'cause Danny Danny Ings, is gonna be alright
  20. The transfer is very expensive and high risk due to his injury record, but that said I'm looking forward to seeing him play for us. Welcome home Danny!
  21. Yeh absolutely. Got to keep it to below 0-3 to have much confidence going forward. A slim defeat will be a good result based on how we've been playing lately and the signings we've made. With a lot of luck we might scrape a draw, fingers crossed.
  22. Maaaaaaan. If we had a quid for every time a poster posted something like this last season we'd all be millionaires. "We'll be fine" "We're nowhere near relegation material", "get a grip ffs"... the arrogance is utterly stunning.
  23. If we can keep it to a 2-0 loss that would be a superb result, if we concede three or more then confidence will be totally shot. Put in a decent performance, work hard, and lose by only two goals and we'll all come away happy.
  24. Tagett completely out of position, then Hoedt too slow. 0-1
  25. Dankeschön! This one is working just fine
