Yes! Just to finish the season within one-win of their points total, despite a change in management at the start of the season.

I want to go out on a high, end the season with a goal-fest and a relaxed but professional performance. It will keep the positivity flowing into pre-season, show everyone else in the league that we are worthy of our promotion place, set the tone for the CCC and most importantly, give us fans something to get excited about.

[kuhn-sol-i-deyt] 1. to bring together (separate parts) into a single or unified whole; unite; combine: They consolidated their three companies. 2. to discard the unused or unwanted items of and organize the remaining: She consolidated her home library. 3. to make solid or firm; solidify; strengthen: to consolidate gains. So for us, get rid of players who stand no chance of contributing, bring in additional quality, consolidate the squad as a whole into a single team, all fighting for each other as well as us.

I think this sums it up very nicely. Top half of the table should be do-able if we keep the basis of the squad the same, but add quality to the team in areas where we're not yet at CCC standard.

Comprehensive guide as to why every team in the Football League hates Saints
RobM replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
This thread is definitely going to make all these relationships better. Absolutely. -
Once you start questioning somebodies selection, you only ever see the bad. For me, he is worthy of his starting place week in, week out. Dickson is, IMO, a better attacking threat and stands out for it, as when it works for him it's memorable. But Harding is more dependable, better defensively, plays a simple and safer game but still manages to get himself and the ball forward when attacking. This doesn't stand out or 'wow' people, so just blends in and gets forgotten by those who think every player should be MLT. Watch the extended highlights or, dare I say it... go to a game and watch how many attacks start with him and how few opposition attacks get by him. You might be surprised.

I think Brentford will be OK, it's Plymouth I'm worried about. They are desperate for survival and it's only 48-hours after being away at Brentford, so we will spend all our time travelling rather than preparing. Brentford should be 3-points as far as I'm concerned.

Was anything mentioned about the kick off for Walsall being brought forward to 12:45? I swear I heard Radio Solent say all games on the last day were being brought forward to 12:45, but the OS still shows 15:00? Was I dreaming?

I thought the number of fans they brought along was commendable. It was also nice to see their fans enjoying a pint in the sunshine alongside our own fans. Proper fans, ours and theirs

Good man

Absolutely. It will either be a celebration of our promotion to the CCC... or an all-or-nothing decider. Either way, it will be a sell-out or close to one and one heck of an atmosphere.

Excellent result. We make it far too hard for ourselves at times. We'd be fooked without Kelvin. Guly's goal wasn't offside (although I've not seen a replay...). Lambert should have been taken off instead of Guly (with Guly placed up front with DC), he looked knackered. We need somebody to take the pressure off of Lallana next season (in the CCC). Chaplow is faster than I thought. That's my thoughts for the game. My brain can't do any more than lists right now. Oh, one more thing... I wish we would play Lambert in a central role only. I'm fed up with seeing our most dangerous and prolific striker on the wing, in defence and generally anywhere else but the a central forward position. We should aim at him and get the ball to him, not rely on him getting the ball to others.

Fonte for me. My heart says Lallana, but Fonte has been a rock, has scored a few at some vital moments and rarely puts a foot wrong. My heart says Lallana, but this is a judgement over an entire season and he just hasn't been there enough, whereas Fonte has been consistently brilliant.
-
According to the OS, Lallana is ready to start, so add him to the starting changes.
-
How many games have we not been ahead at half time though? 14 games over the entire season isn't huge.

For the first time in a long time, I actually have confidence in Saints (rather than just being an eternal optimist) and I expect a hard working, professional display and a comfortable victory today. NA seems to have built a team that actually wants to win and will put in the effort to make it happen. My only concern is Brighton wasn't an easy game, in the heat, and it was only two days ago... can everyone recover well enough to put in 100%? I expect a few changes to the starting lineup.

There are people you can see about dreams like that. That said, I'm getting a bet in for 8-5 Saints on your word. They don't call you Um 'Mystec Meg' Pahars for nothing I'm looking forward to todays game. Nice weather, coming off the back of a great win and everything to play for.

I'd love to see us play with Morgan, Adam and Alex against Walsall and absolutely batter them as a goodbye to League 1.
-
I'd expect a big walkup today. I've booked mine online for collection, which I'd encourage people to do if at all possible.
-
If we're sharing secret numbers, I'd like in on that action please.

The one thing we have in common with them, as fans, is we're all sat behind our keyboards saying bad things about another teams fans. I'm not sure that makes any of us winners.
-
You can't call Brighton fans inbred. It's simply not correct. They are all adopted, as both 'parents' are bummers.
-
IMO, the difference is tactics. Brighton have one way of playing and while that is certainly an attractive, passing game, it's just one way. If that fails, they resort to falling to the floor holding their faces. Saints can play the same attractive, passing game. But if playing that way wouldn't work for the opposition at the time, we play another way. Yesterday, we did both and changed throughout the game. Tactics. Football is a sport, not an art show nor a stage play. It's a sport, with winning being the ultimate aim. Anything else is a bonus.
