  1. Boosters were always likely. It was often said that we’ll likely never beat COVID but that it will be minimised like we do with flu and an annual injection. Of course the goalposts are constantly moving. It’s an ever changing and adapting virus.
  2. Only if you need a wee and don’t go in the bag.
  3. Evidence if ever there was that’s it’s time for an easyJet pricing structure.
  4. Closing day of the season, wasn’t it?
  5. I was on holiday in south of Spain with some pals a couple of years ago and we went to Gib for the day when Gib played Denmark, just watched the game from a bar. I would say 99% of the Denmark fans there were wearing colours. They got absolutely bladdered, caused zero trouble at all, and were great to just be amongst in the bars before the game. Great, great fans.
  6. Not strictly true that, is it?
  7. I’m not sure that the Chapel was ever the intention as being the main end. The family section is in the Chapel and, I believe, always has been. I remember the discussions that went on at the time on saintslist about where people were planning on going in the stadium and it seemed the push from the club was that the Northam would be the main end.
  8. Knowing Saints we’ll put the standing area in the away end…

    Referees

No, Dean said the ref should go and have a look at it on the monitor as he thought it was a foul, which he did and then overturned it. The comment about the player attempting to play the ball is the difference between yellow card, which was awarded, and red card which is given when there is deemed to be no genuine attempt to play the ball.
  10. Yep. He looks like a good player a lot of the time, then just loses composure far too often. Before this season started it was almost unanimous on here that would be a huge mistake if Stephens was a starting CB. That seems to be shifting to a growing number on here saying “he looks like he’s improved”. He’s just not good enough to be a starting CB for a prem side with any sort of ambition, and he’s a complete mile away in quality from some of the CBs we’ve had in the past ten years.
  11. I don’t think anyone has said it’s important. It’s simply another statistic that helps depict a football game.
  12. And if you haven’t been able to watch the game? Not sure why it’s such a problem. It’s just another stat to sit alongside shots on target,,possession etc to help describe the game in a short summary.
  13. It’s just another way of saying we were shit in front of goal and should have scored more than we did given the quality of chances we had. Expected goals based on quality of chances.
  14. 😆 he needs to explain his bias!
  15. Absolutely fucking useless cunts.
  16. Weird. Always used to be Jacks in my playing days.
  17. Or longer.
  18. We’ll see on Livramento as he’s clearly a great talent, but KWP is also an excellent right back and I’d be surprised if he’s usurped so easily. Perraud looks ok so far but I rate Bertrand better on this seasons potential alone ( or at least I did before he got the ‘rona). Losing Ings, however good a replacement we’d have realistically got would have been would be a downgrade, that’s no offence to AA who looks lively but I don’t see him scoring 20+ this season (hope I’m wrong). In think the squad, overall, is more even than last year, but I don’t see that it’s better. A step up,in some positions, a step down in others, overall even but with some young players in who offer a bit of an unknown. Time will tell, always.
  19. Do we have a better outfield XI than last season? Not sure myself, in fact I’d say no on early impressions. The notion of a more balanced squad doesn’t strike me as a big win either, it just means we’ve got more players who don’t merit an automatic first choice pick. Squad depth is great when there us genuinely decent PL quality throughout. I don’t see that with our squad.
  20. Every silver lining has a cloud
  21. Stop stamping on people’s dreams ffs
  22. And like Keane and dumbo Campbell, I don’t think it was a foul from Stephens that led to our goal. Stephens got his leg across the player and nicked the ball fairly.
  23. That’s exactly what they’re doing, it’s utterly pathetic. Keane even said at half time that Saints were punished for loads of silly fouls, the idea we got away with much is ridiculous.
  24. The shot wasn’t deflected, was it?
