  1. VAR is not perfect by any stretch for offisde but it is obviously more accurate than the human eye.
  2. Which, for offside and GLT, is obviously much more accurate.
  3. Not sure if there’s a better side than Saints down the years for turning 2+ goal leads into defeats. Shocker.
  4. Yes, I’d very much agree with this. We went with 4 at the back, 5 at the back, Danso at left and right back, Vestergaard in the side, seemingly changes to the set up every week. Now we have a settled side who all seem to know their jobs. Having a striker in incredible form is also a massive leg up.
  5. VAR! VAR! VAR!
  6. Sounds like a bit of a dopey argument to me.
  7. I’m not sure on this but I think it was his ex wife who did it, as he was parading around with a newer younger model.
  8. Thoroughly terrible first 60 mi utes, Roy Hodgson must have loved it as we played right into his hands. And fair play, Palace controlled us for that period. The goal changed everything (plus the subs) and we were brilliant after that. Djnepo was exceptional, he had five minutes when he came on and it just didn’t work, then he just took them apart. Great fun to watch. Overall a point was probably fair but great to see such a revival from Saints. JWP was outstanding (albeit a bit unnecessary with the first half incident), he has added grit and tackling to his excellent forward delivery, I thought he was by far our MOTM today. such a well taken goal from Ings too, he had no service all game then sparked into life for the goal. A good point.
  9. Pretty much this, aside from Ings. The only other players who would get in our side 4 years ago are ones who were here already, and even then it’s touch and go aside from Bertrand.
  10. Well fair enough, I just tend to disagree. I find it unlikely that he just quit for spurious other reasons then Bayern just decided to recruit him because he was available. For me it’s a no brainer for him, leave a struggling club in the Uk to go to the best team in your home country, and keep quiet about it. if he’d been out of work for a few weeks then maybe, I see it just that the Echo didn’t have the story then printed it when they did. It’s hardly the type of appointment that would require a conspiracy theory imo.
  11. have a look at what the echo said at the time. He left to go to a bundesliga club. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/17820910.former-southampton-assistant-danny-rohl-joined-bayern-m A statement read: "Southampton Football Club can today [Tuesday] confirm that Danny Röhl has left his role as First Team Assistant Manager and has returned to Germany to take up a role with a Bundesliga club ahead of the upcoming season. And that report was only a week after the echo reported that Rohl had left to “go back to Germany”. Pretty easy to work it out.
  12. i can probably answer that. A - he left to go to Bayern Munich. He probably didn’t need to think too hard about that one. B - he was replaced by Richard Kitzbichler.
  13. Hard to pick out any of our players who had an ok half. absolutely nothing on offer up either wing from midfielders or full backs, and we’ve lost the central midfield battle. Can’t really see subs making difference so Ralph needs to work some half time magic. dear me, utterly terrible,
  14. Absolute cack. Second best all over the pitch. Utter rubbish.
  15. Think the last two at least have been exceptionally accurate, within 1 or 2 seats.
  16. Never thought it would in the first place. Moot point now anyway. At least the Torres get to own their Brexit. Christ knows what it will end up looking like At least the pound has gone up though, very good news from a personal point of view (albeit a rebound towards where we were pre-referendum).
  17. Wow Surely, surely Corbyn will go now, and immediately. He’s certainly changed the face of politics, just not in the way he hoped.
  18. it’s the hope that kills you. Would be hilarious though.
  19. Wouldn’t pay much attention to odds, they move based on money placed rather than inside info. I think it’ll be close but a single digit con majority. My polling station was ever so quiet when I was in to vote, albeit it was only just coming up to 5 o’clock. Hopefully it’s not a sign of a low turnout.
  20. Despite the Pompey connection I always quite liked him. RIP.
  21. Norwich and Watford are clearly the weak links In the division, As I said in my earlier post we need to take advantage of our December run.
  22. Maybe we can do both; celebrate a win and Highlight other areas for improvement where we might get undone against a better side?
  23. On demand games was excellent. Picture quality for me was fine (Amazon app through BT box). Only minor downside is that it takes my app about 30 seconds to change channels, I’d ideally like to flick to other games for a few seconds when there’s lulls in play at saints (most of the time then lolz). Overall though an excellent service, looking forward to more of the same on Boxing Day.
  24. Just don’t look like we’re ever going to keep a clean sheet. Unsurprising, as we very rarely do. So nervy at the back, surely we can’t go much further being reliant on Jack Stephens in the middle? Cédric seems ok with the ball but like he’s at panic stations without it. A win is a win but I haven’t seen anything to suggest we’ll be comfortable at any point this season. Two of the easiest games done but December is reasonably kind so need to take advantage.
