I was a wee bonny bairn back in the early 80's. My favourite season was the League One promotion season, winning most of the time, going to Wembley, spending large sums of money in League One terms. But then I'm a bit odd - my second favourite season was the Souness season 96-97, and we hardly won at all.

Reading the Celtic forum, he'd have played in one of their fixtures this week or next week had we not been close to signing him so I doubt there's anything seriously wrong with him that would see him failing the medical. I can't think of many. Brian Laudrup was class for Rangers in the 90's but sadly due to injury never got much of a look in at Chelsea. Wanyama has Champions League experience though so that should help. People complained we didn't have much Premier League experience in the squad when we got promoted - with Wanyama, we're all set for the Champions League 13/14. :-)

He's got two more days yet, the naughty little bugger.

Half an hour? Fricking lightweights.

From BBC Sportsday Live: 1514: FOOTBALL The Football Kenya Federation has congratulated Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama on moving to Southampton from Celtic, even though a deal for the 22-year-old has not been confirmed by either club. BBC Sport understands that the transfer is poised to go ahead in the next 48 hours.

After seeing that, I want him too! Signing Wanyama doesn't mean we wouldn't move on from Banega though - from what I gather Wanyama is a defensive midfielder and judging from that video and from what I've read, Banega would be better suited to the role that Davis ended up playing in at the tail end of last season.
-
Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Cork. What a line up that is. Throw in Davis and JWP who can more than do jobs there if needed, and central midfield is looking sweet. Next to add to our attacking talents... (I'm of course jumping the gun before he signs, but am off to bed soon, and with no work to get up for tomorrow it's possible the deal could be completed before I even wake up!)

Woo a sticky! Someone knows something.....

I'd love it if this transfer did go through tomorrow. I missed the excitement of the Lovren transfer as I was in Mexico, and I'm off work tomorrow!

My missus was happy with the Redmond transfer, especially after I'd been bleating about his performance in the U21 game vs Italy. For me their transfers have been OK, but as long as Hughton is their manager, they'll never be more than a mid-table team, scraping away playing unattractiive football and largely relying on set pieces for goals. Getting rid of Holt was a wise move, but I don't rate Hughton that highly. Watching Norwich on occasion last season was painful.

Who reckons we will announce a signing that has completely gone under the radar?
SNSUN replied to pangy's topic in The Saints
If a team announced that one of their players suddenly became available, and Pochettino and Cortese wanted that player, then I would expect they'd very quickly move to capture them, meaning very little media speculation. However it seems to be the Premier League way that everything gets published or announced before it happens. That said, if there's any Premier League chairman that could keep a transfer quiet, I'd put money on it being Cortese. -
And a Knighthood for Murray no doubt.

A tennis player's nationality doesn't bother me, although I'm not a fan of Andy Murray as a person. If Rusedski had won Wimbledon I'd still have gone bat sh!t mental. That said, had Henman won Wimbledon, I think I'd have felt more pride than Murray winning it. Next? A player born and raised in SW19 winning it. Will it ever happen?
-
I'm going with Luke Shaw as well. Next incoming transfer will be done on 14th July, 11:23pm, and it will be Bueno.
-
Well done Andy. Irrespective of what you think of the lad, winning Wimbledon takes some doing.

The alternative leandro damiao thread for ITKs and TMS regulars
SNSUN replied to Tokyo-Saint's topic in The Muppet Show
Are these better tits? I wonder if Leandro Damiao has moobs... -
A desert island? Well if I'm going to die, I'm going to look back at my life and wonder if I actually accomplished anything. So I'd take these from my time at as a New College chorister in the 80's/90's. Haydn: The Creation Herbert Howells: Choral and Organ Music Volume 2 Handel: Joshua Handel: Judas Maccabaeus Benjamin Britten: A Ceremony of Carols. All have my voice on, and I'm actually on the last album cover - lower front right. I could take music I like now, but at least when people in the future find my dead skeleton, at least they'd have a chance of identifying my remains. :-)

If Gary Hooper really is available for £4million, which I doubt, he'd be a good, fairly inexpensive signing to do a job up top. Any more than that and you're looking at the next class of striker up from him. Let's keep annoying Spurs and bring in Soldado or Villa. That'd please 'em!

I got a warning from Wikipedia once telling me that false edits aren't allowed. I think I wrote something rude on the Pompey page. (I forget what, it was a long time ago.) Thankfully from a work computer, so my home IP is clean. :-)

All 3. Ok Bueno. Oh all right then Damiao. As the statement of intent would be massive and we'd have a current Brazilian international. I can't help but think he won't join though because of the World Cup next year. Not having European football will hinder us in signings a bit imo.
-
Or get him to sign on our dotted line as soon as possible before he has a chance to realise he's made a mistake.
-
Ha! Over a year now though! Player-wise, I'd rather have TITS

TV Worshipper. Which is ****** because it's only on when the wife is home. I'm more at home playing on my laptop. (Which still only has 2/3rds of a screen since I sat on it.) Still, glad I'm not a price pikey like Bearsy. I heard he's turned down bum before because it was too expensive.
-
I was watching Babestation and that woman never mentioned Damiao either. I was watching for ages too. I think it's a conspiracy. I'll keep watching though to see if the situation changes, and will endeavour to do the same every night until Damiao signs.
