  1. They'd be docked thousands.
  2. If there isn't at least one person dressed as Father Christmas in the stands, I'm going to throw a mild hissy fit.
  3. On topic of the thread, I'm sure I read recently we'd been linked again with Kjaer, but I'm buggered if I can find the link.
  4. This debate comes along every year and I maintain that Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin' Stevens is the ultimate Christmas song. It's cheesy, it's fun, it's upbeat and it's about Christmas. It's hard not to like it. My wife's favourite is Jona Lewie, Stop The Cavalry. Our favourite as a couple is It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year by Andy Williams. We have a good dance around the lounge whenever we hear that.
  5. Had we not got promoted from League One when we did, we may have lost Lallana, Morgan and Lambert. Had we not got promoted from the Championship last season, as well as potentially losing those three, we could've lost Cork too, and though we didn't know what effect he'd have had, even Shaw could've been snapped up, as Arsenal were interested. Being in the Premier League (and hopefully staying here) allows us to keep these players if we wish and then strengthening their team mates with even better. Rory Delap's record transfer would perhaps never have been broken had we not made it back to the Prem. Don't get me wrong, I love the Championship, I think it's exciting and competetive and is my favourite League. But football is a financial game these days, and there's only one place to be for money.
  6. Gunners to win but have three players sent off and a few injuries that will help us in the new year.
  7. Just before the Olympics, Mike Brown promised all train operators currently employed by LUL would have their jobs until retirement if they wanted them. That's a lot of sitting in driverless cabs doing nothing. The fact is, if the Underground wants to keep up with modern times, they have to go driverless, but the three unions are very powerful, because of the disruption to England's capital city they can employ. There'll be a lot fewer staff in the future anyway, which will benefit all Londoners and Tourists. Me? Well my job is fairly secure at present, in that I work in one of the busiest ticket offices on the system at Heathrow. Which I enjoy. (I also wear my "I Love SFC" badge with pride, so come say hello if you're passing through!)
  8. We get 53 days leave, which is already nearly twice what most people get in a year. there'z no excuse for trying to get anything extra for Boxing Day. IT's ASLEF not RMT. (I know it was a joke!) We're not striking, it's just a minority of train operators. It annoys me because I'll be in on Boxing Day, and them striking makes the rest of LUL staff's day that much more difficult. FWIW my manager told me today that the Piccadilly Line hasn't got many ASLEF drivers, and from previous years, them striking hasn't made tooooooo much difference. They're obviously doing it so that they can get a day off, it's pretty obvious, and they'll do it every year until LUL gives in to their demands. Which they won't. So it will continue to happen. As long as RMT and TSSA don't start following suit there should be a pretty good service.
  9. To add to that, should we get relegated this season (touch wood), then that list in the OP will probably form the basis of our Championship team next season! I can see people interested in most of our first teamers if we do go down.
  10. Not no future, no, but not first teamers. All can be improved upon, and if we stay in this division, all WILL be improved upon over time.
  11. I know of at least three locations where I already in exist in DNA form... One other question, if I die, will 18 years of Championship/Football Manager addiction be time well spent, or time wasted?
  12. 5 points from that lot. I also estimate we'll finish on 38. Is that enough? Hmm, we'll see.
  13. Would my DNA end up in said apple pie? And if so, can I be cloned from the resulting pie, should the Apocalypse fail to kill everybody? So many questions, so little time. I assume surviving the Apocalypse would entail a situation akin to the film I Am Legend. http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2012/dec/16/mayan-apocalypse-looms-week-ahead
  14. Got to be Wiggo, surely? I reckon Jessica Ennis will push him close though. Mo Farah or David Weir to make up the three.
  15. What's the best household object to stick my phallus in, you know, in case the Apocalypse happens while my wife is at work? If I do that, and the Apocalypse doesn't happen, will it void the warranty?
  16. I'm sure we've all seen the nonsense in the tabloids about West Ham wanting Rickie to replace Carroll, and we're all laughing our backsides off about that. But it did get me thinking, as he's 30 (nearly 31), is there an amount of money we'd accept for him? I personally think, with what he gives our team, he's priceless, in that signing a replacement as good (or better) than him would cost perhaps more than we'd receive. He has 3 or 4 years left at the top of his game, and I'd love him to serve out that time with us. But what sort of silly money would become tempting? £5 million? £10million?
  17. I'm out drinking Thursday night, and I plan on getting slaughtered. If the end of the world is going to happen on the 21st, I hope it happens at 2am, just after my kebab has been finished. I either die drunk, or I die with a hangover, or I have to see the in-laws in the evening, and I'd rather it finished before that.
  18. I got flashed by a camera leaving Maidenhead in the summer, clear as day it flashed twice, and I regret to say I was doing roughly 50 in a 40. I never received a letter though. I thought if it flashed twice, which I'm almost certain it did, then you were definitely getting a letter. Is that cobblers?
  19. 1) Cacking myself about the wedding, it went very smoothly in the end. 2) Cacking myself the Olympic Village wouldn't be ready, it went brilliantly in the end. 3) Cacking myself the transport infrastructure wouldn't cope, we did very well in the end. 4) Getting my rostered postion back at work, thus cementing my shifts, after a year of uncertainty. 5) Saints getting promoted straight through the Championship 6) Saints blowing our transfer record twice in the summer 7) Saints' recent form (Projected) having the weekend off before and up to Christmas. (A rarity for LUL employees) 9) Getting burgled for the first time ever. (That's a negative one) 10) Meeting Hatch.
  20. They're all back to front! Aways are homes and vice versa. Or am I going mental? Actually apart from the early kick off (Man City to win away at Newcastle), and the Monday game (Arsenal to beat Reading) I think it'll be home wins across the board. All very good for Saints. A win next week would be a lovely Christmas present.

    Frank Lampard

I was waiting for this thread to appear. No, and no to David Beckham while we're at it.
  22. Winnable, but much depends on their performance/result against Man Utd. After a 3-0 win at Reading, a poor performance against Utd would deflate them. A good performance against them, whatever the result, and their tails will be up. Still, it's exciting times being a Saints fan at present. Lallana is a massive loss, but we have the attacking players to compensate. 5 or 6 points from the next three games would be a good return IMO, 7-9 would be the stuff dreams are made of. At a push, I'd even take 4.
  23. Very good news! Well deserved too for a couple that have gone through such hardship.
  24. David Armstrong was a good bald player, but I can only assume he had big bushy pubes.
  25. Jos is left footed. He gets my vote. I'd also play Nigel in goal as he has bags of experience. Chaplow is bald. He should have no place in our starting line up. Only hairy people should play, look at Marouane Fellaini. The hairier you are, the better. Fox has hair, but is still not very good. Must be a wig.
