  1. He will, but it will be for Fiorentina in Serie A. He will, but it will be for League One MK Dons. It will, but only because during the game against Cardiff, it's announced that Pompey have folded.
  2. Signing players like this limit the chances of our own youngsters from progressing to the first team by getting game time. If he were already with us, we'd be talking about him being released this summer. No thanks. I know he was talking about when we were in the nPC - Simon Church likewise, but really no thanks.

    LucasArts RIP

Good news Grim Fandango fans (like myself) - Tim Schafer (the mastermind creator behind Grim Fandango) is making a NEW point-and click game - his first since Grim Fandango was released - and it's set to be out later in the year, called BROKEN AGE. It was partially funded by the public using Kick Starter - and turned out top be the largest crowd-funded video game of all time, raking in millions of dollars rather than the few hundred thousand he originally wanted. Shows how much the public want the game... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_Age
  4. England look dire. Awful. Brazil are carving out all the openings, and only Hart is stopping them. Are these really the best set of players England has to offer? England to win 1-0. :-D
  5. I voted No because I'm dyslexic and I thought it said On, and was a button to turn on the porn. I was most disappointed.
  6. Clyne, Shaw, Morgan, Cork, Rodriguez, Ramirez. The same 6 players we shouldn't be looking to sell. It was hard not to include Boruc or Lambert in there, and difficult to leave Lallana out too after all he's done for us in our rise up through the leagues. It also shows how weak we are at CB.
  7. I'd be surprised if City didn't want Guidetti, he was banging goals in for fun in Holland. I reckon they're nurturing him for a first team spot int he future. A loan, perhaps, but I'd be very surprised if they sold him. Would be a cracking signing for anybody though. Strikers are at a premium though, and it's surely only a matter of time before Tevez throws his next strop. Even if City do let him go, he won't be cheap. Plucking a youngster from Chelsea has worked for us before, so that could be good. I've not see McEachran play, but that youngster that was on loan at Watford was promising... EDIT: Just been reading about Guidetti - didn't know he had a debilitating virus that attacked his central nervous system. Nasty - he's on the mend now though.
  8. Luke's birthday: 41 days 996 hours 59772 minutes 3586330 seconds It doesn't sound like he's going anywhere... http://www.clubcall.com/southampton/shaw-eyeing-new-campaign-1595080.html
  9. I either got 1 out of 10 or 9 out of 10. I'm not telling you which...
  10. Ah, another person leaving the club, along with Shaw, Morgan, Clyne, Cork, Rickie, Ramirez, Lallana, Cortese, Fat Frank in the ticket office, Ethel the tea lady, the Ted Bates statue MK 1, and the ghost of Bobby Stokes. I don't believe a word of it, but whatveer happens, and I'm not talking just the manager but all the players - let it be done as early as possible this summer please.
  11. RIP Big Ron - he was playing long before my time as a Saints fan but any Saints fan worth his salt knows the contribution Ron made to our attack in the sixties. Sad news. 70 is no age either. :-(
  12. Keep the current badge. It's instantly recognisable and frankly there's nothing wrong with it. Look at the Everton fiasco. I've never wanted a tattoo, but if I were going to get one, I know what I'd choose to have...
  13. Pleased for Palace, I have a couple of Palace supporting mates and Selhurst Park is one of the few away grounds I've been to. I can't see them doing very well next season though...
  14. CB, LB, AM, Str. The four positions I'd like to see strengthened. £30 million is enough IF you can find a bargain or two. (By that I mean a player for, say, £3 million or less - like a Clyne but for one of those other positions.) For striker, you look at Benteke at Villa as an example. £7 million still can get you a good quality, goal scoring striker, if you know where to look. (Plus there's an element of luck in every transfer.) £7 million would still leave you £23 million for 3 positions - more than enough. £30 million is a good amount to invest IMO - it's almost stunning to hear that said when you think we were scrambling around for free transfers like Lee Molyneux and Ryan Smith just 3 years ago.
  15. Saints to win the Premier League. I'm a Saints fan first, and an England fan a distant second.
  16. This is already closer than I thought it would be. For me it would have to be the FA Cup win - instant success, and we'd still get a place in the Europa League to quench our foreign thirsts. It would also deny a big club a cup... 4th place though, would show excellent progression through the club, we'd be a bigger draw for signings, the press would be gushing over us, and then there's the finances of the Champions League... (Thanks mods for the poll...)
  17. If we do go back to stripes, I like the idea of mixing it up a bit. A bit like: but not as ghey. (Although that is one of my favourite home strips since being a Saints fan...)
  18. Which, of course, is complete arse - someone's made that up based on how much they've heard of each player. Morgan is worth more than Shaw at the moment - and while the Shaw valuation isn't far off IMO, Morgan's is much lower than we'd get.
  19. Hypothetical question for you all to alleviate the boredom a tad. A few weeks back the question was asked of whether you'd rather win the FA Cup and get relegated (a la Wigan) or finish mid-table with no trophy. I can't find the thread, but if memory serves people would rather win the FA Cup and get relegated as that would cement another place for Saints in history. This question steps it up a tad: Next season, would you rather Southampton win the FA Cup but finish in mid-table obscurity, or finish in 4th place but with no cup win? Which would you choose?
  20. I have to say I liked the Sash - my favourite kit. That said I reckon it'll be between stripes and how it is currently - and stripes (or two-tone like the Air Florida kit) wins that vote, not that I have any major problems with the current shirt, it's just I grew up with Saints wearing stripes.
  21. http://threeandin.com/?p=20864 WBA's Brunt, Fulham's Diarra and Reading's Pearce is who this article links us with. Brunt would be a useful signing I agree, I'm not sure Pearce would add anything more than we already have, and Diarra is at the tail end of his career, so no to those two. Surely WBA wouldn't want to lose Brunt though? He's only 28.
  22. True - I see Harry Redknapp finally got the 3 points he's been after for weeks too!
  23. I'm working so will miss it. I can however state that the Bayern fans were louder coming through Heathrow... I'll catch the highlights later. With no Gotze, I think Bayern will have too much for Bayern - only Lewandowski will have something to say about that...
  24. He's been in Sainsbury's once. He took 3 of his own bags too. When the checkout attendant asked how many he'd used, he lied and said 6. He'd do anything for an extra 3 points.
