  1. He's 46 and retired in 1994. Not really what we're looking for. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9_Kana-Biyik Oh that's his Dad. Good pedigree then. I take it it's this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean-Armel_Kana-Biyik? Bullet Header:
  2. I'm playing Markus like we play the nuns on match day, such is my wont for this transfer to go through. I bet he'd have loved today's goings on.
  3. Even if the purpose of this was to make us all excited and optimistic ahead of the new season, it's worked. I'm excited even to be linked with him, and some of the other names being touted on here today. To think it wasn't so long ago that we signed Nicolas Bignall on loan. (Just a name I've plucked from memory, nothing against him per se.)
  4. Ramirez will sign on page 34. I can feel it in my bone.
  5. If it helps, I love Spag Bol.
  6. His transfer from Southampton Airport Parkway to St Marys has officially been called off. Cortese has booked him a hire car instead.
  7. I support this thread. (Loan? Surprising.)
  8. The new Skacel, thus replacing him with "that" joke for the next six or so years... Fox and Shaw worried me at first, especially with Shaw being the unknown entity, but the management must have faith in the nipper and Arsenal and co must see something in him. Seaborne can play left back anyway! :-D
  9. I'll be happy if Phillips signs and Ramirez doesn't, or the other way around, but for both to sign would be orgasmic. I mean utterly spunk-inducing. Bang a centre back and Buttner on top and you may read about my messy death in the Windsor local paper.
  10. If this is one of those 11:26pm jobs, it's going to be a f^cking long day.
  11. Ramirez signs for Saints: http://www.ashfordathletics.com/article/989.php FOR REAL - WHAT A LINKY!!! (It may not be the right Ramirez or the right Saints...)
  12. Why don't you Caaaaaaaarry on Witha what your dooooooooing, And make heeeeeeroes, Out of Saintly men, You've got to find a place, To make a better space, Ohhhhhhhhh Gaston. (I'm not quite sure why this song of all songs that have ever been written popped into my head, it just did.)
  13. 19 page already indicates that this would be the marquee signing we all greedily crave. Pray it goes ahead. (And Phillips, Buttner, Kana-Biyik and all the others too!)
  14. We won't sign anyone today. (Reverse psychology, bear with me...)
  15. Anyone know how much bunce Forecast has been earning? Must be a tidy sum for five years' work. He must have done something right in his younger years to get all this luck. I doubt his career will be over though. With all the training he's had in his years with us, and still being a reasonable age, some lower league or conference team will take a punt on him. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows, but one thing's for sure, his and Pulis's employment rank up there with the Ali Dia saga.
  16. I do think Harry is a good manager but I believe he's crud with finances, his football clubs and his own. It's like on Football Manager (for instance) where you get a budget to spend, blow it, and then ask the chairman for more (or do everything in your power to manipulate the budget to bring in that extra player.). I still don't like him, he's a cockle and will always be. He has a face you want to slap. (Only if you did that, it probably wouldn't stop wobbling.) I hope the MOTD set can cope when Saints win, I hear a Redknapp twitch measures 6.8 on the Richter scale.
  17. No Hart or Richards helps a tad, so we could grab the odd consolation goal in a 4-1 tonking.
  18. Who cares about the fee? This would be a good signing for us, and his future fee will only rise. Yes we still have the memory of administration ringing in our memories, but we're run by a banker now. I think he knows what we can and can't afford. From Wiki: "His most recent position was as an executive at Banque Heritage in Geneva where he managed the finances of billionaires" I think he's best placed to decide we can spend £6 million on a winger that can only improve us.
  19. Maybe Maybe Maybe. I can make up stuff with Maybe. Maybe we'll sign Lionel Messi. Maybe Rupert Lowe has been honing his centre back skills and is now all set to play for us. M
  20. I'd rather we sign Phillips than Jarvis purely on the basis that it'd p!$$ Holloway right off. Other than that, I'm not fussed really, although Phillips is younger and cheaper.
  21. Very sad but I guess it's a sign of the times. As a youngster I read both the Beano and the Dandy but The Beano was always my favourite. Soon enough I switched allegiance to Buster, which has also since closed down.
  22. Thanks for the update! Massively looking forward to that.
  23. I think we can nick a result with the team we have. We've got quality in the team, and in spite of us bemoaning our lack of bringing in a CB, Jos and Jose are far from the worst CB's in the world. My view is we have 17 days to bring in recruits, not 4, so there's no immediate need to panic. (An injury to Jos or Jose against City and I will of course change my mind!)
  24. Naturally they should go into every game thinking they can win it, cupsets happen, so can leagupsets. (A new word, it won't catch on.) We're just being more realistic as fans, especially ones that support a team that has had so many ups and downs as we've had in the past. Guly's inconsistant. :-D
  25. We could've signed Buttner, 2 CB's, a quality keeper and an amazing right winger this summer and we'd still struggle to get more than 3 points from our first 4 games. It's who we sign before the deadline and how they gel that will shape our season. I'm pleased our run in is a darn sight easier than our beginning, we always seem to start a season badly/slowly and that would have been the case had we 4 easier games in the first four. We need the winnable games when we're on a run of form, it's our fellow relegation candidates that we need to be beating, not the big boys. (though that would be nice!)
