I'm not sure the two go hand in hand. The exits, all English (bar the want away Lovren) and home grown which big clubs in this country now want, were all done so that we received a hefty transfer fee for each. Thanks to one thing we got right this summer, the managerial appointment, I think we do have that draw for players to come here.

£7.5 million for Forster doesn't seem like too much to me, for someone that's been acknowledged as one of England's better keepers, done well for both Norwich and Celtic, and has Champions League Experience all at a good age for a keeper when he has a lot of time left in his career. I approve of this signing, perhaps more so than signing Ruddy. Better than Marshall? Mmm, that's a tougher one.

Stoke sign Bojan. One of Barcelona's up and coming youngsters in the mid naughties and now joined the Potters. Still youngish, could be a cracking signing if he settles well.

I doubt there'll be a marquee signing this summer, just good, solid players that add to the team. Mind you if Ramirez, Osvaldo and Lovren were marquee signings, we aren't exactly missing much.

If his wages are what people say they are, we've done well to steer clear of this one. Plus he's far from the finished product. Will learn from Ferdinand. Good signing for them, not much of a problem that we didn't get him.
