  1. 5 mins gone and 0-0. We just need another 17 more like it.
  2. Great work from Clyne
  3. ****ting myself, if I'm honest. We still using nuns this season?
  4. Sunderland are in talks with Man City over a £10 million bid for winger Adam Johnson. At that price, HCDAJFU. Worth a whisper in the sheik's ear today?
  5. The tough decision for Cortese is that if we go down this season, who better to try and get us back up than the man that led us to the Premier League in the first place. Of course if we're heading for relegation, he won't be here long anyway. If he does get the sack, we'll all be gutted, but I'd be excited to see someone brought in that could attract bigger names, although Cortese seems to be doing OK by himself based on recent events. I really hope Nigel can be a success here and keep his position for a long time to come.
  6. I hope that's a joke, the guy's tiny! Looking forward to it, but perhaps, as it's Man City and we're more than likely destined to lose, not as much as I should be. Still, I hope we give them a game. Kelvin to be MOTM with some wunderbar saves, but losing 4-1 in the end. Adam with the consolation.
  7. http://www.people.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/fa-cup-match-reports/2011/01/09/southampton-2-0-blackpool-ian-holloway-hits-back-at-disrespectful-saints-fans-102039-22835720/ I'm not a fan of Holloway, and as a Saints fan, the only team I care about is Saints. If we sign Phillips, I'll be happy for Saints, I won't think anything of Holloway's woes. Yes it sucks to lose one of your best players. It sucked when we lost Oxo, but we were financially compensated and Blackpool will be too. £6 million would give the Blackpool fans a pretty exciting end to the transfer window.
  8. :-D So that'll be him signing for Man City on Monday then.
  9. I'd love us to sign Phillips and rub it in Holloway's weasly face.
  10. I was just re-iterating it. I got caught up in the excitement yesterday, I've read every page of this thread! (I cannot say the same for the Skates thread, although I did try initially.) Even dreams aren't THAT good. I would take One CB and one Winger as a minimum but maybe it's our just reward for years of faithful support... I'd use Hedgehog's time machine to move to 11pm on August 31st. This could be the longest 2 weeks of our lives.
  11. Skates still got a point though, won't mean anything when they're folded though. If I were a League One manager, I'd rest my star players knowing that particular result won't count at the end of the season!
  12. I do think we'll get tonked tomorrow but at least we've got a few friends down the bottom end of the table. I maintain that 2 or 3 points after the first 4 games would be brilliant, any more than that would be fantastic.
  13. Horses head in the Bologna chairman's bed? Would that work?
  14. Scored today. I get the feeling I'm going to miss the lower leagues this season. I loved the football down there, the feeling we can win every week, and where the likes of Forte are actually good. Good for him.
  15. Lee Barnard Barnard, He's short but he's ****ing hard, He's making the Skates look bad, Lee Barnard Barnard! (Does that work?)
  16. YES!!!!! GET THE **** IN THERE !!!!!! Nice one LEE!!!
  17. 18-19th as it stands, but if this really is my only prediction, then I have faith in the club and their potential to make the right signings before September and in January, and so I'll predict 14-16th.
  18. He works for the club whilst shopping in Tesco? Is he the players' personal shopper? :-)
  19. note to self. Never copy and paste using an HTC.
  20. http://www.sportingpreview.com/football2012/2012201.php They're talking on this site like it's a done deal. Only a matter of time perhaps?

  22. Rickie out ffs How he didn't beat Dawson at the penalty challenge I'll never know.
  23. In other transfer news (I'm sure it must have been mentioned at the start of summer) Jose Bosingwa joins QPR. Good signing for them, I might have to raise my expectations of them this season. Kevin Mirallas is poised to join Everton. A good signing for them if it goes through. Belgian international winger for £6million. Is Ramirez twice as good for the money? One can only hope so. (If it goes through of course, touching wood.)
  24. Hey, if this doesn't go through, at least we can assume we have a big transfer budget...
  25. Me too. In the formations thread the other day I said we didn't have decent wide players so I'd pick a narrower formation. These two would completely alter that, and my perception of where we'll finish this season.
