  1. I'd actually have JRod up top and Lambert wide. OK, Lambert is an excellent target man, but he also has the footballing brain to create attacking moves, and his cross for Morgan was exquisite. That said, with Mayuka and Ramirez on board, and Puncheon seamingly in good form, it's touch to choose the front three.
  2. I had the Japanese contingent near me in the Itchin/Chapel corner and one of them was wearing a Man Utd shirt. He looked like an OK guy, but I'd have punched him too, had I known I'd have been a hero.
  3. He's got Rickie to learn from, he'll be fine long term.
  4. If the odds of winning really are 50/50, I'd have bought one. :-p
  5. Thoroughly enjoyed myself today even in defeat. We played brilliant attacking football, Puncheon, Morgan and JWP were outstanding, but there's a reason United paid £24 million for Van Persie. Lethal. We were unlucky with their goals though, Clyne's slip, the rebound off the post... Only their winning goal was really deserved, and Kelv nearly got to it. (and nearly got to their first too.) Play like this, and like City and we won't have any problems this season. We just need that first point on the board for confidence, and two weeks off and an Arsenal game won't make it any easier.
  6. Really? At least two of Kelvins short passes went short of their target, and nearly got us into big trouble. I'd rather he just punted it up the field than put us in danger that close to our goal. I couldn't believe the booing when Guly came on. Unbelievable. No matter how limited a player he is, how inconsistant he is, or how much of a numpty he is for drink driving, you don't boo one of our own players. The team as a whole, at the end of a poor defeat, is borderline acceptable.

    Luke Shaw

Which begs the question Why didn't we go all out to bring in another left back? Shaw's our only other left back besides Fox, and if he's not good enough yet, surely we'll be stumped if anything happens to Fox?!? Yes Seaborne can play left back, and yes Clyne has apparently played there in the past, but surely we should have brought someone in if Shaw's not good enough? Strange one. Fox it is, I guess.
  8. Went to the game, stuck in traffic, got home, rewatched whole game on Sky +, watched highlights again on MOTD2. Puncheon was outstanding. Everything good went through him. Lallana had a solid game but needed a better finishing touch. Lambert as good as he ever is. Morgan was outstanding too and capped it with a great header. Steven Davis went under the radar but was solid too, a few attacking moves went through him. Apart from falling over a lot, Clyne was good at right back too and linked well with Punch. Fox was far from MOTM but he was better than what I saw against Man City. MOTM for me though goes to JWP. He's fricking 17, playing against the country's biggest team, and he's put in a fantastic performance. Puncheon or Morgan perhaps will win the plaudits, but this is my vote, and for someone who looked like he's played for years, he gets it. Well done James.
  9. Ah blank video tapes, the easy choice when Christmas shopping for my Dad in the 80's.
  10. Alex Ferguson has only lost 168 games as Man Utd manager and tomorrow will be his 1000th game managing them. That's a hell of a statistic. How many of those 168 were to us?
  11. Still too soon? I bought Charlie Sheen's pigs.
  12. Is Bearsy female? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Bearsy
  13. Two and a half months you've had to come up with something better than that! :-D I still think early 40's. We'll survive, this weeks signings have made me think that.
  14. Chill peepholes, it's the Star FFS. I've seen better writing on Fact of the Day toilet paper.
  15. Bearsy has a bear arse.
  16. I was christened SNSUN. It's actually pronounced 'Clint', but nobody ever guesses that. My mum's name is Siobhan and wanted to continue the family tradition of having shyte names.
  17. Wiping in pub toilets is a whole separate issue. Rarely is there any bog paper, and if there is, it's probably lying on the urine soaked floor. That's when the faithful hanky kicks in, and not to mention socks and boxers, should the need arise. I once chucked a shltty hanky out a bog window once in a dive club in Brighton. Apparently it landed in the beer garden. I didn't stick around to find out. Alternately you can use the flush water as a makeshift bidet. Takes a while though and your hands smell after. Anyone ever pooed in a urinal?
  18. As long as we make a ManCity-esque go of it. I'd love us to do them, and renew our position as Man U's bogey team, but I understand it'll be tough. JWP to start and impress, Mayuka to come on and scare the bejeezus out of them.
  19. Really? Not me, Martin in his proper position over Frazer or Fox would be prefferable, were he not on loan. Seaborne is never going to win World Player of the Year but as fourth choice now I'm slightly more confident, as long as he's truly put the horrors of last year behind him. And how good really is Stephens? He was getting good reports from people on here as a right back, is he as good a centre back now they've converted him? We all know we need another CB, but what we have will see us through until January. It's not the terrible defence some people make out. Sure it'll ship some goals, but as long as the attacking department do their job, and the covering central midfielders, we'll pick up positive results. (and excitement along the way.)

Danny Gabbidon is on a free too. :-D
  21. 50/50. A GK, A LB and a CB each for £4 million would sort our defence out, but we'd lack the exciting creative edge Ramirez will give us. Plus he's a massive investment. Even a few good games and his transfer fee will sky rocket. This is all hypothetical of course, but it's possible you'd make more money in profit from selling one Ramirez than three squad players. Assuming, and plenty of wishful thinking, that our defence will in fact cope until January, I'm far happier with Ramirez. He's made the headlines too, record transfer fee, wonderkid, longest thread for a player on SWF...
  22. Nope, the only defender I can think of so far is Danny Gabbidon.
  23. He's gone from being an arrogant little sh!t to being one of our decent attacking options this season. I still don't like him, but he can make me like him. A winning goal on Sunday would make me like him.
  24. Looking forward to seeing Mayuka in action, however long he may get. I hope they unveil Ramirez on the pitch on Sunday too for a quick wave. That'll boost the feel good factor around the stadium and us cheering will show how happy we are with him. (Aside from the Mancs.)
