I feel for Wolves a bit. Similar situation to a lot of us clubs. They've gone from having Diogo Jota, Neto and Cunha to signing Armstrong and trying to get Adams. As happened with us, getting big money for players and bringing in shite replacements sucks for us fans. Some clubs manage it, Bournemouth and Brighton are two, but there's only a matter of time before they, too, see their gems go before the duds start appearing.

That is a pretty damning statistic really. 22 open play goals in 4 seasons. I think we think he's better than has been because of the lack of other decent striking options in that time and because of one Championship season where most of those goals came (including, to be fair, the all important one). And yet Adams, possibly seen in less favourable light than AA by some people, got 49 in his 5 seasons with us and with more Premier League goals there too (although to be fair, he had more Prem seasons to do it in). I think one of AA's issues was his insistence that he is a striker when he seems more effective playing from wider positions. I also think he would suit the old fashioned 442 paired up top with a bigger striker, a bit like the Beattie/Ormerod partnership. A time will come again where we get a striker that can score goals. When? Who knows, hopefully in the summer with any luck, but I don't mind the sale of AA while the money was there, even if there are doubts over his replacement. I hope he does well at Wolves really but for the way we seem to want to play going forwards, I don't think he fits the system.

I always thought of him as more of a goalscoring winger anyway. He was never one to lead the line and it seems the tall striker is the path we're choosing. I hope that means we're sticking with the 4231 for the forseeable, we look much better with that shape. Must be gutting for Wolves fans that they're prepping for next season. And yet there was us, last season, signing Gronbaek that we barely ever played.
-
They had all day to work on that. Welcome Cyle. And Good Luck, you're going to need it.

Thanks Adam for at least helping us to promotion two seasons ago and Wembley. And yet I'm not unhappy with this sale - it's the risky nature of who we have brought in to replace him. We just have to hope that Stewart, or Larin, or even Archer, can score some goals before the end of the season because we can't keep relying on Azaz or Scienza to get them all. Summer transfer business better be bloody good.

Not transfer news but this is a nice touch from Wolves. I'm going to steal my daughter's food from SMS next time I'm there and see if Sammy Saint does anything about it. ð

That's him and Akachukwu on the same day. Loaning them out ready to use them as our strike force next season. ð

20 minutes left of the deal sheet window and no confirmed sale of AA or incoming of Larin. Not to say both deals aren't done, but I'd like us to announce them one way or another so I can actually do some work instead of Googling other fans' Forums to see if their windows have been worse than ours.

Romeo Akachukwu off on loan to Colchester.

The ladies of Southampton will be disappointed... ð

AA has apparently passed his medical at Wolves so I'm assuming we're just waiting on the Media teams to sort their shit out. Are we going to have a video game announcement for CL or are we done with that now?
-
Offloading high earning Aribo gets my vote. Trimming the crap has definitely been an SR mission this January. Loaning out Baz and bringing in someone who at least so far looks more competent than him has also been decent.
-
Mmm beaver.

Maybe a deal sheet. We have until 9pm. Keeps up the drama for 2 hours longer than the window even closing.
-
He is a good player and God knows what has happened over the last few months with him or who is to blame, but it's such a waste to have someone pretty decent in the squad and not use him. I hope he can be reintegrated somehow, he's be an extra asset to our attack should Fellows, Azaz or Scienza (God help us) get injured. Or we are relying on Matsuki and Robinson to do the biz.
-
He's here for 17 guaranteed games. 20 if we get to the play-off final, 24 if we get to the FA Cup Final. ðĪŠ It's a loan and he's taller cover for AA. We still have Stewart as long as he stays fit, and it looks like we will keep Archer. Larin wants to get to the Canadian squad for the WC so however bad his form has been, we can at least hope he gives his all. I'll give him a few games before judging him! He's also got experience and has shown in the past he can score goals at a reasonable level. It's for 6 months, I'd rather we spent our money in the summer having properly scouted someone (over to you SR, better than Downs please, we know you CAN spot gems) than panicked and did it now. Our January signings have rarely ever been much to write home about.

Well I was in my Mum. Pregnant, not anything more sinister.

4 hours left of deadline day. Plus any deal sheets. I can't wait. ð At least we have seemingly upgraded the GK position, although it is still quite early to tell. 7 points from 9. Bree back and playing. Charles fit again. Ross has managed not to get injured in a few weeks... ...I'm really looking for the positives here.
-
I think we need 3 but only because we don't know what the fitness of Stewart is like. Stewart and Larin (who will want to play a lot due to fighting for his Canadian spot) will most likely be the main two fighting for one spot, but relying on the youngsters as a "3rd choice" is risky to me when the fitness of the other two can be questioned. One solution would be to bring in another winger/AM type player that could potentially also play up top, but with 21 hours left of the window I don't see that happening now unless we really are aiming for some late deadline day deals.

What's funny is that Watford love a short term manager so much, they've gone and brought in THREE as caretakers: Charlie Daniels, Dan Gosling and Adrian Mariappa. Talk about too many cooks... Continue the 4231, keep the starting line up the same and I can't see why we can't pick up another 3 points. Any deviation from formation or starting line up (bar perhaps Charles slotting in somewhere, not sure where presently), and we could go back to struggling. Play the best players in their best positions in the best formation. I'm hoping for the same line up, and a tasty 3-0 smasheroony as we continue to march towards play-offs. ð

A quick glance shows that he has scored goals at reasonable levels before though. Experienced, 6'2'', for the rest of a season where we may possibly be chasing shadows I don't think it would be bad business bringing in a tall striker, especially one that wants to hit form to get into Canada's squad for the WC although from the articles I've read he has been mis-firing of late. Get through to the summer and re-assess.
-
He has the tools, but from the sounds of it he downed them back in August which explains why he's done sod all this season. Wolves fans on their forum can't wait for him to leave.
-
Had a bad cruciate injury and has barely played for two years. I do think he's a good defender and a leader but presently I'm not sure I'd take him over our existing CBs although our habit of signing crocked players speaks for itself.

West Ham somehow turning victory into defeat. Interesting if they re-joined the Championship next season.
