Utd no longer in for Clyne or Clyne no longer in for United? Utd saving face? Who knows, either way Clyne staying would be a huge boost. Despite the recent dip which could be for many reasons, he is the best RB I have seen in my time at saints.

We have had white collars a few times down the years in the history of the club, although not for a while. Harks back to the 59-62 kit. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Southampton/Southampton.htm Black collars relatively new - started in the 80's and used alot in the 90's more my era. I actually prefer less black but I associate it with that era.

Correct, like I said it's the Adidas badge in the middle that is drawing people to Stoke. I think this kit will be a grower. -

The leaked templates as expected. What we have chosen is the Striped 15 template, but with the red/white colour's reversed and a brighter red. http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/products/Mens-Football-Teamwear-adidas-Striped-15-Short-Sleeve-Jersey-Power-Red-White-97251.aspx? They have also changed the collar to a white ribbed crew neck which I prefer. No sign of the perforated collar the 9 speculated. It is a standard fit rather than formotion. A few changes from the bog standard template, but nothing imaginative. I was going through the adidas stoke kits as my 1st thought was it is a bit stoke like, the thing that stood out is the adidas logo in the centre. I would have prefered on the side tbh. Other than that the kits are not identical if you are pedantic like me. The red sleeves make it more Saints like imo. It's nice & I will buy it 7/10. -

The Long Overdue Pointless 2015/16 (Adidas) Kit Thread

Yes it does. Straight out of the teamwear catalogue, even the colours (possibly a little darker) http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/teamwear/mens-adidas-teamwear-football-team-kits.aspx?listName=mens-adidas-teamwear-football-team-kits&cur=GBP&p=2&pp=24 Very lazy. The template itself is ok, but for our home im hoping they have added some detail at least. Different collar etc. -

It's all Tiro 15 stuff in different colour ways. It's nice, it always is for Adidas. All over MLS now. Really want a tracksuit but this could be last year with Adidas so will probably wait & see what deal we have for 2016 -
Rodriguez has returned - BREAKING: NEW CONTRACT SIGNED

As long as he is expected to make a full recovery, this is great news from the club and IMHO the best move for Jayrod's career. He is not ready for a move right now. -

A reveal? Must be wearing it vs Villa if reveal this week? -
Benik Afobe seems to have it all based on stats and admittedly YouTube! whats his general play like? I have seen no football league this year
-
I always saw a lot of potential in him but thought he kind of went off the radar for a couple of seasons when he left. Good to see him doing well and that goals & assists record is very good at that level. Maybe worth another look?
-
you nailed it re lambert. His football brain and play with his back to goal was exceptional which pelle cannot touch. Pelle however is more agile, more of a threat in and around the box, a little quicker and closes down much better. He stays very central which can be frustrating, especially if not on his game as he just doesn't win the ball and feels like we are playing with 10 men. Thankfully he was back on song yesterday finally and put in a very good performance. lambert would drop deep left and right, hold it up and create space for jrod and lallana. I wish pelle would do this more but guess he is instructed to stay central. We look so easy to defend against if pelle is off game. lambert didn't win that much outside his own box with his head and was getting slower and slower, very much a threat at set pieces and pens but was not looking threatening in open play. thats my 2 cents. Lambert is clearly the better footballer but his Body looks like it has gone to me.

I just cannot understand how in the year 2015 with £150+ boots that players are still slipping regularly in professional football. Don't get it. This is not just a saints thing btw, happens all over the country
-
Easy this year, some players have played in bursts. Fonte was the glue that held us together in the summer and has been a fantastic leader and most consistent. Bravo.
-
I agree but then I am not manager of saints thank god. Gallagher has at least proved he can shoot and score from outside the box (with his left foot too) unlike the 1st team.

Rodriguez has returned - BREAKING: NEW CONTRACT SIGNED
doggface replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
His silence is so deafening that I doubt he wants to stay. His agents have clearly been busy planting stories in the press. He has always seemed quite a sensitive player mentally IMO and I'm not sure at this stage in his career a move to a big club would be in his best interests. Could ruin him (if not already ruined). I think that it is best for his career that he signs a new deal and sticks around for at least 1 season, there is no way that we can let him run out his contract. -
Post-Match Reaction: Stoke City 2-1 SAINTS
doggface replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Poor start from both teams, we nicked a goal then took control. We were the better team but 2 really poor goals and lack of urgency around the box killed us. Stoke were poor but still won, that in itself proves we are not good enough for 4th place. -
(IMO) It is immoral and unprofessional for a player to be actively negotiating with other clubs without their clubs permission. Directly or through an agent. It is unsettling for the club which owns the players rights and may effect performances at their current club.
-
Yes, this is the way it is done now. What I am saying is it is morally wrong and that the regulating bodies should look at it IMO to clean it up. The selling club suffers whoever that may be. It's B.S.
-
Absolutely. Despite the fact that this is against the rules, obviously happens every day. I'm sure Saints are guilty too. It makes a mockery of the rules. IMO football needs to either re-write the rule book and make it legal or bring in new legislation with very harsh penalties (ie banned from euro competition). That would soon stop it.

CLUB ACCOUNTS: 2013/14 - Saints reveal first profit
doggface replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
That David Bick article is so spun it's untrue. Disregard the **** questioning the director loan which paid off the vibrac loan at some extortionate interest rate sounds like good business to me. not to mention it was his boss who sanctioned it! Couldn't make it up -
I would take Jenkinson if clyne leaves, good potential. I think Clyne will be tough to replace.
