There have been a few rumours but it is difficult to judge fact from fiction. Rumour aside, unless their is a slump in form, I would be surprised & disappointed if pardew was not given next season to get promotion. We need stability and I think he has brought well in the main. That said if the rumours are true and pardew does not gain promotion this season then he is out on his arse. time will tell I guess but my hunch is there could be some mischeif making within a certain local rag which may have an agenda here?

I would like to sign both but it seems pards does not rate papa. That said pards has changed his mind about a couple of players. Seems like papa has a good attitude, would like to see him given more game time, especially upfront where he linked well with lambert unlike Barney unfortunately.

We looked horribly one paced with lambo & Barnard. Waigo came on & changed the game straight away, ran at people & scared them ****less. Cannot work out why pards doesn't seem to fancy him. Great goals ratio and can do equally good job wide or as cf. Still prefer 4-5-1 though.

Without wanting to jump on the bandwagon, there is a piece on this in the echo today. The story for me is incredibly patronising, it seems to insinuate that this approach seems to be a figment of his imagination and states that no one in Italy has ever heard of Cortese. Of course they spoke to at least 3 contacts in Italy (which is clearly everyone?) and seem to assume that it was Fiorentina. This fued is going to run and run with childish pieces like this.

I have not really given a **** about the spat between cortese & the echo until now. I don't know any of the facts for sure, but having seen certain things I think there is alot of **** stirring going on at the echo IMO. That said if NC banned the echo from 2 charity events that is dispicable in my opinion. Nc is an inter fan & set up the waigo deal with fiorentina. I wonder which club has offered him a role? They would have to pay very well I would have thought ; )

Today we got a good result but in all honesty I expected more from Ipswich. They dominated the midfield first half bit were pretty toothless upfront. That said jaidi won every ball. Our goal was against the run if play but what a strike! Fortunate to be one up at 45. Second half much better. Though we still struggled to put 2 passes together until we went 4-3-3/4-5-1, we started to win the 2nd balls from the start. After being starved of service and chances, once we changed our shape & put on Antonio we really took the game to them & gave them something to think about offensively. Mom jaidi, he won every ball. Summary, good performance we need to get a good cm in asap, start with 4-5-1 & keep the ball on the deck more.

Looking forward to the game. All I want to see is a good performance, I am not hugely bothered if we win or lose for one as we have bigger fish to fry. The last result we want is a draw so I think it will be an entertaining high scoring game (cue 0-0 bore draw!). Shame we are missing a few, but as we are under absolutely no pressure so I think this will be an intesresting test to see how far we have come with the squad we have.

Now that was a top strike force (shame Marian was often "injured") However Barnard is NOTHING like marian, he is not fast for starters which was one of Marians main strengths.

I understand where you are coming from on this but to segregate the 60+ and families in the away end would be impossible logistically. As much as they maybe "scarfers", they have as much right to attended as you or me...........or maybe they should just be banned

Good luck to pato, I would have preffered a loan for now but we have a very experienced back room team & u have to trust their judgement. Also it appears he has rejected any opportunity of going out on loan in the past which is crazy. If pato really wanted to play for saints he should have gone out on loan & proved he can cut it, so he only has himself to blame - needs to grow some balls.

Paterson was at Southend yesterday finalising the move. I would have ideally liked to see him go out on loan in this league to see whether he could cut it here. There was talk he did not want to go out on loan, if this is true then I think he has been a silly boy and screwed up his chances with us. I think Barnard will prove a good buy and I also think southend have a pretty good deal too if it is finalised this morning.
