  1. I think that the rise of "social media" has unfortunately given a mouthpiece to all the ****s on the planet. They think that they are being funny, or at least that is the only explanation that I have.
  2. I would disagree with you that if we sold to Liverpool for £75m that we would look weak. That would be a ridiculous amount and one that we don't seriously expect anyone to pay.
  3. Who knows? Maybe if he was sacked before the year was up, compo for the whole of that year?
  4. Is anyone really surprised? If the captain can't be ****ed to turn up to the end of season do..........!!
  5. I doubt anything is going to happen to Puel until the new owners get their feet under the table.
  6. When the company has total assets of £975, the answer is that he doesn't.
  7. Mr Jarvis is a big player.....http://www.endole.co.uk/company/09055077/blackbridge-cross-borders-ltd?page=financials Good growth percentages..
  8. Not necessarily. It rather depends on their business model, how they recoup what they paid for us, and how they are going to make money out of us. Certainly, while we are a lot smaller than the big boys, the returns possible are there by selling us to a new breed of overseas supporter. That seems to be where the growth is. There seems little point in screwing up a £200m investment for short term gain, so while it isn't perfect, I am not sure that it is the disaster that some people think it has to be. But I guess time will tell and of course we all hope things go well.
  9. Rotation not working very well??
  10. Isn't he already!? Ba da boom
  11. Its too easy to form opinions of people when you have no idea of the facts that is why I tend not to judge people in the way that you are doing with Austin. We all have our own moral compass which we apply to ourselves and others. And yes, infidelity isn't high on the list of good characteristics, but there are 2 sides to every story and marriage is not always that easy in the first place. So as I am unaware of the full facts, I would not pass judgement. As I do not know them and am not involved, any extra marital affair is up to them to sort out. But as I say, we are all different.
  12. While I do not question the desire of players to earn more money, there is a proper way of doing things. While under contract, and earning a sh!t load of money every week, I think your employer is due a bit more respect. But then no one said football was full of gentlemen who know how to behave in a decent and proper manner. The pursuit of money rather seems to preclude proper behaviour in far too many instances.
  13. Not sure why I should be interested in the fidelity or otherwise of the players. I certainly am not interested in people airing their dirty laundry in public, whether it be dressed up as a joke or not. None of my business, not that I have any interest.
  14. Had to tune in to talksport to listen to Quinn et al. So it seems LFC have done nothing that everyone else does. Abd we are a selling club anyway, and while LFC have treated us with contempt, it is our business model to sell our best players. This is all about us trying to up the price. Matt Le Tissier on shortly which might have a different slant!!!! I guess that when you get a reputation for selling anyone and everyone, it is hard to change that.
  15. If I was a betting man, I would say that VVD will be off this window to a club who we will do a swap with. Liverpool seemed to be offering Sahko as a make weight (at all of £30m and £100k p/w) which presumably we didn't want. [Maybe they should keep him now that they have given up with VVD]. I think Liverpool's tapping up buggered up our plans.
  16. OMG - I got in the car and had talkSport on and the Liverpool callers in are incredible. The presenters are in shock at the delusion. The one currently on is saying that LFC have acted honourably, VVD wasn't wanted, Matip/Lovren would be better than VVD, LFC weren't in for VVD in the first place, SFC are mikey mouse and trying to get more money. Blah, blah, blah. In all the call ins, not one has thought that we don't want to sell, instead we are just trying to get more money.
  17. For the benefit of all smaller clubs like us, WBA, WHU etc etc we should most certainly push through with things and not drop it. If we do drop it, then what really changes? Nothing. The big boys will continue to trample on us. Might put the PL in a tricky position though, as they are keen to support the big boys.
  18. An extraordinary statement. Guess your presumption of guilt is spit on
  19. Put yourself in their shoes......I will use Bertrand as the figures have been quoted recently (whether they are true is another thing). Saints pay him £55k per week. Man City offering £110k per week. Do you turn that down? As I said on another thread, the only way that we are ever going to keep our players is if there is a wage cap at a level that is within our reach.
  20. I don't consider that Bournemouth did worse than us (although some will say that their worst GD means that they did - but at least they saw some goals being scored by their team!)
  21. Can I ask what you are basing this on? What exactly have the Club said to Puel and what arrangement is in place? I mean more than what a couple of articles in a paper say, as not everything in the papers is true!!!!
  22. It's not the big 6, its these sorts of results...... Draw - Watford (h), Sunderland (h), Leicester (a), Stoke (a), Bournemouth (h), Hull (h) Lose - Hull (a), Crystal Palace (a), WBA (h), Burnley (a), Swansea (a), West Ham (h), Stoke (h) Now as someone has pointed out, we are something like 15 points down vs the Big 6 this season compared to last. I am not expecting us to get the same, nor win all those games listed above, but I do expect us to play somewhat better against the big boys and to win a few more of the games above. And even some of the games that we won, we were lucky to do so - WBA (a), Middlesborough (h), Swansea (h) etc - although granted, that is subjective.
  23. Is it shabby? Again, without having all the facts, it is speculation and hearsay as to what has/is happening and how he has been treated.
  24. Its incredible isn't it that people seem not to see this as an option. Oh I can understand it from Liverpool supporters, their arrogance blinds them to this possibility. And who really knows what is going on? Maybe if we weren't going to keep him, maybe we had an agreement with, say, Barcelona to buy him for £70m (favourable FX rate at the moment!!) and Liverpool blabbing is jeopardising this. etc etc. Unless you are party to all the facts and details, everything else is speculation.
  25. Little snippet from the Mail.... Football agency Wasserman Media Group, fresh from the controversy of their former CEO Sam Rush being dismissed by Derby for gross misconduct, now have to contend with Southampton reporting Liverpool to the Premier League claiming there was an illegal approach to Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk. The player was poached by WMG from Dutch agent Henk-Maarten Chin last December. WMG declined to comment.
